KRONSTADT, June 23. /TASS/. The modernization of the lead corvette of project 20380 "Steregushchiy" at the Kronstadt Marine Plant (KMZ) will begin in early 2024. This was reported to TASS by a source in the naval sphere.

"The state contract for the modernization of the Steregushchiy corvette at the Kronstadt Marine Plant is planned to be concluded before the end of this year. Work at the facility will begin early next year. The document will fix the deadlines for the return of the corvette to service," the agency's interlocutor said on the sidelines of the International Naval salon (IMDS-2023).

According to him, fault detection of the systems and mechanisms of the ship's equipment is currently being carried out. Designers determine the contours of its appearance, specify which systems and weapons should be upgraded. Funding and scope of work are also determined. The interlocutor of the agency noted that the lead corvette "Steregushchiy" will be the first in line for repair and modernization among other corvettes of project 20380 of the Baltic Fleet, such as "Sооbrazitelniyt", "Boiky" and "Stoiky".

So, this corvette has not been active for years and the Russians are still waiting for a contract for modernization, which should only start next year. I wonder how long it will all take, again..

Source: Strogiy corvette will be commissioned with the Kalibr missile system in 2024

KRONSTADT, 24 June. /TASS/. The sixth ship of Project 20380 Strogiy, which is being built at Severnaya Verf (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation), will be commissioned by the Navy with the Kalibr-NK missile system next year. This was reported to TASS by a source in the military-industrial complex.

"The Strogiy corvette will be handed over to the customer next year. Now the ship is being completed, preparing for mooring trials," the agency's interlocutor said on the sidelines of the International Maritime Defense Show (IMDS) in Kronstadt.
According to him, during the construction process, it was decided to install a universal ship-based firing system adapted for launching Caliber, Onyx and Zircon missiles at Strogiy. When laying the ship, it was planned to install the Uran anti-ship missile system.

The construction of the Strogiy corvette at Severnaya Verf began in February 2015. The ship was launched in June 2019. The design of the ship's superstructure was made at the Sredne-Nevsky Shipyard. It is made of modern composite materials that provide radar stealth.
The engines for the ship were supplied by the Kolomna Plant.
