The #SaudiMight's are getting their sphincters 'cornholed' by a rag--time group of #KitKhatSnackbar insurgents rocking Jesus sandals, and here we have people peddling fear-porn about the Saudi's ignoring the VKS's IAD with comments such as ..."nothing Russia can do about that" FFS... Rolling Eyes

Houthis are insurgents and it is difficult to fight them since they hide among civilians. SAA is out in the open and all their infrastructure are out in the open. Syria would be vulnerable to Saudi bombing campaign.

Haven't you been paying attention to the Yemen thread? The Saudi's are getting their asses kicked in the open deserts and hilly landscapes, not in street battles hiding behind civilians. If the Saudi's are stupid enough too get themselves tied up fighting the SAA, their Yemeni front's will completely implode, giving the Houthi's the green light to conquer Eastern Saudi Arabia.

Like i said, Daraa and Damascus is where almsot half of Syrian forces are, together with the best AD systems. Because fo that I doube AF will be fo much help to the Saudis.

I also doubt performance of Saudis on the ground will be much better than in Yemen. In Yemen all engagement take place at a platoon level where disparity in training is the LEAST apparent - the higher you go in the chain of command, the more faults in the system you find - low morale, poor relations between officers and their suboordinates (and between NCOs and enlisted personel), lack of tactical initiative in NCOS and junior officers, poor coordination between units, poor coordination between army and air force etc. and this is jsut the tip of the iceberg, the resulting tactical maladroitness is CRIPPLING.

I still think it was a stupid move by Putin offering ceasefire. That's like, Stalin offering Hitler ceasefire in 1944 when USSR was winning Shocked

This one I agree. The Minsk ceasefires were hard to understand and this one even harder. Russia must be the only nation on earth willing to make ceasefires while winning. All the others just want to defeat the enemy, unconditionally.

Not Russia. But Putin. He always tries to play the good cop. The fact of the matter is, it's purely STUPID to offer ceasefire when you are winning lol1

The objective is to take towns and villages from jihadists so that jihadists have nowhere to breed new warriors. Idlib breeds thousands of warriors every year so that place will have to be dealt with eventually.

AK-74 will give decisive advantage to SAA over jihadists. Yes assault rifles are highly important and crucial to winning wars. Why? A lot of the fights are face to face over short distances.

I also hope to see eventually more Su-35's in Syria to deal with Saudi Arabia and Turdkey.

More Iraqis and hopefully lots of AK-74s. AK-74 will be the key on who wins on the ground.

If i was Russian i would try deploying more S400 and PancirS2s nothing else would make much sense in such short term deployment.

Kurds should embed themselves in SAA to prevent being attacked by Turkey. Also, Russia should keep an eye out for Turks. Erdogan the new sultan is a mad beast and I am sure he will shoot down another Russian jet if Russia is not careful.

I do hope that the An-124's are carrying some Su-35s or Su-30sm because we need them in Syria and like Militarov said, we could use more Pantsir-S2, I don't think there is any more need for S 400(I could be wrong). If I were to guess, I think they are taking T 90 and ammo for the offensive for Al- Raqqa(just a guess).

Erdogan and House of Saud calling Russia bluff. They think Putin doesn't dare start WW3 if they invade Syria. Turkey and Saudi Arabia have been backing jihadists in Syria for years, since 2011. An open war with Turkey and Saudi Arabia is only a matter of time. If WW3 starts, then so be it. It is only a matter of time before WW3 starts anyway.

WW3 will not start. At most there will be a major regional war.

WW1 started after a long period of rivalry between major powers (with strong arms race) and WW2 was just a continuation of WW1. Who would wage WW3 and over what? OVer a piece of sand?

There had been WW1. There had been WW2. War is human nature. WW3 is unavoidable. It is not if, but when WW3 starts. And it just started.

How reliable is this source? There are just many people reporting stuff, it's hard to know, who is reliable.

Yes, but does Russia have enough assets to hit Turkey so hard that Turkey will not be able to retaliate? And does Russia have the will?

    No. It did not.

Parties most interested in escalation are Turkey and KSA. US is not hell bent on escalating the conflict hence their refusal to back Turkey over the Su-24 shotdown. Russia and Iran are sending help only because they have to. India and Brazil don't care at alla bout Syria. China barely does.

The West would love to see a big war between Turkey and Russia with both taking big casualties.

Erdogan is such an idiot for enabling another victory for the West.

By shooting down their planes using S-400. As for the will? If Putin acts, he will start WW3. If Putin does not act, he will lose election in 2018.
