So where are the Putin Bashers now?  Sochi helped to put Russia in the world map as a travel
destination.. This is the reason why Western media was attacking Sochi.. and provoking panic about
"Terrorist attacking" "anytime soon" or toothpaste bomb.  




Is called Economic Media warfare.. it was sabotage to russian tourism and russian economy..
and this was done BEFORE the Ukraine conflict.. so effectively USA was attacking Russia economy

The Tass link was very interesting. Perhaps most interesting was the talk of 2m Chinese tourists planned for Sochi in 2015.

Perhaps over time, Sochi, the Crimea and maybe a Russian aligned Novorossiya could all benefit from tourists from China, India etc ie the emerging powers.

Who knows, maybe in a few yrs Chinese can travel by superfast trains and not just planes. THat would mean different regions on route could all develop tourist infrastructures.

The big challenge will be how much Russia can have year round tourism in lots of different places.
Its certainly possible because Russia has history, culture, natural beauty etc. And particularly today, it can produce good service as a competitive price (altho Moscow, as an exception has been quite expensive until recently).

Perhaps Russia can even adopt the "Dubai style approach" of build it and they will come?

This is off topic, but I think Sochi could have its own acrobatic flying group stationed on Sochi airfield. They should fly on L-39 trainers and this group could be civil, in private ownership. Sochi is touristic and sport resort and there could be a lot of different events in summer and in winter, so this group could be quite busy with showing their attractions on such events over sea or over mountains and make them more attractive for tourists. There is enough civil L-39 planes in Russia, so it could not be so difficult to create a group with 6 planes.

All this fucked up traveling puts me off from going to Crimea. Crimea would be meh place now, it's still undeveloped and borring like it was left from Ukrainians, only Nostalgia would bring me there. Sochi would be way more interesting. I'm planning going there together with other 3 people, they are pretty posh and been to most prestigious places and it would be interested to see their reaction.
