@Trollstoy88
The newest Golub quadcopter drone-bomber, which can automatically recognize enemy infantry using AI, was presented at the HeliRussia 2024 exhibition in Moscow. The UAV can carry 12 fragmentation grenades or one 82 mm mine. The drone can use automatic vision technology to focus on the camera in order to carry out bombing. When the operator hovers over an object of interest and begins to think how to apply the payload, the drone very often gets blown away by the wind.
Now, this drone, without the participation of an operator, hovers over a specific target using the camera. The drone receives a command communication system that is not affected by electronic warfare systems. Communication is provided in a frequency range that can't be jammed. Golub can carry up to 6 kg of payload and has a flight range of 10 km. The drone, equipped with a rotating camera for piloting and dropping, reaches speeds of more than 40 km/h.
The product is already dispatched in the special military operation zone for testing.

Ignore first video.
The second is a drone with real muscles.

Re: Russian Army Robots
This is interesting.
A mule transport drone that may be adapted to other duties including ATGMs etc...
But check the video at about 46 seconds onwards and you can see an overview of a 3D LIDAR map of the terrain around the drone... it uses LIDAR to map the airspace immediately around it in 3D to find its way home if its electronic connection is cut through EW.

Re: Russian Army Robots
Its generating an electronic map of the terrain as it moves along. Micro-terrain, vegetation, water basins, all sorts of obstacles including possibly mines - very valuable information for armored movements. Usually these are gathered through good old foot patrols by scouts but if you have these you don't need to risk trained personnel as much.

Well now the west can mention Russian drones because now the western audience knows they have captured this Estonian super robot so obviously any Russian platform is a copy of superior western technology...
Now the Russians have this Estonian robot they might actually beat the Ukrainians on the battlefield now...
Just another example of a western super weapon being neutralised.

It is not literally LIDAR but a combined radar/optical scanning of the surroundings.
Russkie are using this technology for agriculture vehicles and in mines.
They are much advanced in that, I have watched once some material where this Russian machine was being used by an Australian farmer. What made his neighbour farmers shocked, was a fact that it was operating even when GPS signals were gone during some Sun emission.
It is something like an advanced robotic lawnmower or vacuum cleaner - both scan the surroundings, making a 3D map with the help of optical sensors and radar waves.
Technology goes forward at shocking speed, you can buy this sort of robotic vacuum cleaner for $300

OSINT Aggregator
@AggregateOsint
Mass Production of MiS-35 Attack and Reconnaissance Hexacopter Begins in Russia
Russia has started the mass production of the MiS-35, a heavy attack and reconnaissance hexacopter. This drone, already nicknamed “mini Baba Yaga” on the front lines for its resemblance to agricultural drones used by the UAF, is capable of both dropping ammunition and conducting reconnaissance missions.
Specifications:
-Design: Hexacopter with six electric propeller-driven units
-Primary Armament: Capable of dropping 82 mm mines and PG-7 ammunition (RPG-7 cumulative charge)
-Additional Armament: Can carry various combinations of up to five grenades based on frontline needs
-Combat Radius: 9 km with a load of 3.5 kg
-Maximum Load Capacity: 4.5 kg
-Flight Time: Up to 45 minutes in reconnaissance mode, 54 minutes in optimal conditions, or 30-32 minutes with a full load
-Speed: Up to 63 km/h
-Camera: Analog camera with six-fold zoom, stabilized for precise targeting
-Additional Equipment: Optional thermal imager for day and night reconnaissance
-Control: “Interference-proof”communication channel
The MiS-35’s adaptability allows it to be equipped with a variety of munitions to meet the specific needs of fighters on the front line.

Re: Russian Army Robots
In the Army 2024 forum they have shown a robotic D-30 howitzer which is installed on a MTS155 chassis with a weight capacity of 15 tons and a drive range of 120km.
The crew can operate if from a distance of up to 500m and it is equipped with a four round autoloader.
I can drive up to a firing point and fire four rounds and then drive back to the crew who can board and drive away... and reload the autoloader in transit to the next firing point...
Video at about 2:47 on this vid.

Strap a couple of these bad boys to the robot and have it scuttle towards the nearest Ukrainian foxhole.
Come to think of it, they might even be reusable depending on how fast they are. Maybe a catapult system attached can launch projectiles into open windows or inside of trenches without getting "too" close?

Re: Russian Army Robots
Those dog robots will be horrifically expensive and very sensitive to terrain...
Fine plastic nets made of fishing wire like material fired at a flying drone will tangle its propellers... the same net will entangle a drone on the ground of any type too.
And of course EMP weapons to immobilise, or jammers to block cameras and communications... or emission detection to intercept their signals and track them down.

If I am correct they use servo motors and strain wave drives and a lot of them, so they would be hideously expensive for what they are. Ofcourse a RWS or optics ball should use those same things, but only two of each.

For the cost and complexity you could have dozens of tracked ground vehicles mounting machine guns and grenade launchers and using new digital night vision devices as shown in this video (near the end).

Re: Russian Army Robots
I would say that the armed Kurer is too cheap and simple, it makes sense seeing as is is a civilian product. I would say something with cheap steel armor to stop fragments and rifle rounds and a tank grade RWS would be a better idea as it still needs a human to operate it, now if they made the robots autonomous with a single human commander being able to direct dozens, then perhaps cheaper robots are in order.
On the kurer, it appears well suited for its original cargo role. Just need the Government to adopt some of the purpose build combat robots.
