Thoughts on why there are not more BMPT Terminator's;

Re: BMPT "Terminator"
You can blame the omnipresent Russian recon-fires system and their chilling suppression effect for that.
When you have shells that keep landing with deadly precision on enemy positions for hours on end, the enemy doesn't even leave his dugout to man the heavy weapons on the parapets. No machineguns, no ATGMs, nada.
A heavily armored fire support vehicle optimized for providing maximum suppression kind of starts to sound like overkill at this point. Much better to have something like the T-15 heavy IFV that can carry a full squad in the highest levels of protection.

So, summarizing it , the item in itself function very well and the concept in itself is solid but the twwo things didn't match together very well for what it came to the reality on the terrain ALMOST in the current tactical situation.
On one side the weapon utilized are somewhat not up to date for what it came to the the type of opposition encountered and the precise tactics they were supposed to be used in i.e. massed attacks actually just doesn't happen on field (let's repeat, almost for the moment).
.
So, probably they would wait for a BMPT version of the T-15 instead with weapons able to cope with the actual menaces (57mm grenade launcher, Berkut mini-missiles spring to mind) and the capacity to carry some stormtrooper.

Re: BMPT "Terminator"
The concept of the BMPT is for its use in situations to support tanks where it is just too dangerous for soft things like infantry to operate in the open... whether it be snipers or drones or levels of artillery that makes stepping outside too dangerous.
The BMPT was not a replacement for tanks, it was the infantry support to support tanks but without infantry.
Essentially the BMPT is three machine gun teams and two missile teams and also two automatic cannon teams all moving on their own vehicle with armour and communications.
The 30mm cannon are becoming a bit obsolete and originally they were planning to use machineguns on the hull front in proper turrets so they could independently engage targets on their own... so for instance the commander of the vehicle... like the commander of a tank, has a panoramic view of the battlefield and could direct each of the three gunners on board to hit three separate targets while firing at targets himself with his own remote HMG mounted on his panoramic sight.
With the BMPT as it implemented, that doesn't really work because the front hull positions for machine guns or grenade launchers are a bit restricted in their firing arcs.
One of the early model BMPTs actually had crew positions on either side of the hull just behind the main turret...
I think they need a more stepped hull structure, perhaps using the engineering troop transport:
The BMO-T, but with two shallow turrets mounted in the front corners of the vehicle but with the crew behind the main turret that is an externally mounted 57mm grenade launcher with the Bulat missiles (which can also use Kornets if required).
Maybe something exotic like a rear turret mounted twin barrel 23mm cannon in 23 x 115mm like that used on the current model Hind, and also as a tail gun for the Il-76?
The two front turrets could be fitted with a PKMT and a 40mm Balkan grenade launcher, so targets out to about 1.5km can be engaged with the machine gun and out to 2.5km with the grenade launcher.
The turret mounted 57mm grenade launcher would be devastating out to about 6km and the twin barrel 23mm out to 4-5km or so.
Rather than carrying troops, I would say carry more ammo and perhaps two crew for controlling drones.
If the drones are tethered to the vehicle they will be directly connected for electricity and communications so they can't be jammed or defeated with EW means... you could raise a MMW radar and IIR optics system, as well as a LIDAR half a kilometre into the air to detect enemy troops and drones...
