That smoke let by the missile engine reminds me the attack on the radio tower 2 weeks ago. It was a kh-59 and I think it is the same kh-59 here.


And there is certainly not any storm shadow there. Most likely they are kept near Poland or in poland and brought in when used.

The smoky engine seem a low cost mass produced one that does the job. I don't remember seeing such smoke plumes before for missiles.

He said that there are two conditions for sending soldiers to Ukraine. The first is a breakthrough of the front by Russia. The second is a request from Kiev.

The Russian telegram channel "Whisper of the Front" is counting the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine according to the obituarys in the Ukrainian press:

"It seems that the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost a division or brigade to zero on 05/02/2024. There are more than 1,500 obituaries in just one day."

The Reuters news agency reported earlier this year that Russian forces had used grenades loaded with CS and CN tear gases.

Using tear gas against peaceful protesters is fine, but not against armed soldiers.

Some say it was a Kalibre attack but that trail looks straight down to me.

A Kalibre is like a small light jet aircraft, so to maximise range it can fly at 8-10km altitude where it will be safe from ground fire and MANPADS and then dive nearly vertically onto its target where an intercepting missile or gun round would have to detonate the warhead to stop it... anything else and it likely will still hit its target anyway.

Of course it can... flying at altitude maximises the speed it can fly at and its range and removes the threat of ground fire (small arms) and MANPADS. Most medium range SAMs would struggle to hit it unless its flight path took it directly over them and part of its mission planning would be to fly it around know Orc air defence systems.

Plus the anti drone jammer stations and of course small arms including shotguns but also LMGs and Verba and Igla-S and even Kornet would be good against some targets in the 10km range version with the HE Frag warhead model.

Rocket powered missiles leave smoke trails, Kalibre is jet powered and would leave no smoke trail... even if it used MiG-29 engines or B-52 engines.

That smoke trail might be from a SAM trying to intercept the threat...

It will be good for the Russian Air Force because they probably don't have enough lighter fighters that can be directed by major airborne early warning aircraft... and they could probably do with more AWACS aircraft... numbers and types.

Will be funny when they shoot down a few F-16s... especially when they get shot down an enormous distance from the front line.
