So lets add the things.
1. recognition of the referendum outcome, which is actually obvious,
2. partial mobilization that will involve the active reserve only,
3. mobilization of the industry and switching it to full swing status, with the governmental guarantees for all the needed resources,
4. bringing the financial&social benefits of newly mobilized to the level of a contract soldiers, that includes the republican militia and other volunteer units,
5. open warning towards warmongers who are talking about nuclear weapon,
6. assurance of territorial integrity of the whole Russian Federation, including new territories.
Did I miss something?

Reservists could be anybody I presume and they wont be picking people from critical businesses but businesses that are not remotely that important (service sector for instance).

All former conscripts and all reserve officers (the bulk of which are actually people who were trained as reserve officers in university but didn't serve)
So all reservists in total.

Out of them - 300,000
They're probably looking for various specialists they have a deficiency of (medics maybe, perhaps drivers, artillery men), maybe some grunts, and some logistics or other workers so that they can free up contract servicemen who serve in Russia for combat duties.

I know i can not do anything about this.

But as an Western EU guy, i can not express my deep shame enough about the brainwashed mob and corrupt, downright insane politicians that want to see the world burn.

I do not take these events of necessary escalation lightly.
I know the price of war.

My thoughts are with the Russian people, its serving men and women, the people living in the RF controlled area's and their own troops fighting.
They have my full support, whatever is going to happen.

Not going to rub it on the dimwitts cause they're a lost cause and they know they're clowns deep inside so when they lash out at folks firing the correct criticisms at the Kremlin it's just a reflection of their condition.

With that said, there is nothing to celebrate. This just highlights the failure of Plan A/B/C or whatever shit they hoped to accomplish with this limited operation of theirs... 8 years ago I was literally spelling this out. How their main enemies studied their Georgia operation - you can't be predictable in a situation like this of this importance. The biggest failure of the Kremlin boys is continuing to underestimate the resolve of it's main geopolitical enemies (U.S/UK). There is no accommodation to be had, it's either Russia's prosperity or theirs. That's how the anglo's, and western empires of the past have always viewed/treated their enemies - and that's how, under whichever banner, Spanish, French, Italian (Roman), Greek or German it will always be.

This is all fine and dandy but still.... if decision making centers don't start to go up in flames and if we don't see within the next month or two a severe, and I mean severe reduction in the size of the political/military leadership of Ukraine this will continue to be a protracted conflict for no god damn reason. Cut the heads of the snake and trust that when the heads of those high up start rolling on the floor you'll see a massive drastic change in the ability of Ukraine to resist....Big leadership loss is hardly, if ever, easily replaced - not to mention it creates panic, backstabbing and an infinite number of other side-effects. You gotta play hard and dirty like everybody else, and get in the mud. To think you're above the expediency of this is criminal hubris, which the Kremlin boys have been practicing for way too long at the cost of Russia's positioning in the world itself.

What I am wondering in all this though is that what will be of all the volunteers?

Would it now be best to integrate the volunteers and the Rosgvardi training facility in Chechnya and do things that way? Maybe Cossack units too? Or you think they will just continue to allow volunteers as well and just fall under a different command?

I can express in other words what I heard today:
1. Any of us Russians on this forum can suddenly disappear from here, perhaps forever.
2. Taking into account the announced ~6000 losses since the beginning of the military operation, the mobilization of 300,000 additional personnel means that in the next 6 months we can expect another ~ 18,000 killed Russian citizens in the war.
3. I still don't see the children of the Russian "elites" on the battlefield - will the mobilization affect them?
4. This war cannot be won without a complete consolidation of power and society around a single goal. I DON'T see this process now. The authorities continue to think that it is possible to throw the lives of Russian citizens into the furnace of war without doing anything to change the social structure of the country.

So I have no unnecessary illusions: so far, much suggests that Russia is strategically losing in this confrontation. If we do not have real allies who will help us in this confrontation, and not hide fearfully, not daring to confront the collective West, then Russia will most likely be completely drained of blood after a few years of this conflict. I hope I'm wrong, but this is my feeling right now.

It's time to prepare for war for me.
