    So they scrap the old units on site. It looks messy but I think they must sell the "trash" otherwise the accumulation would be huge.

    On August 30, the Tver Tram System celebrates its 120th anniversary. 

    The problem is that it has been in a "coma" for the last few years: most of the trams have been sawn, the former director is in jail, and the authorities continue to promise to restore tram traffic.

    I hope that Tver will be able to return tram traffic...

    The biggest order in history. 

    Volgabus will release 400 buses on the routes of St. Petersburg. 

    The system-forming enterprise – the Volgabas Volzhsky plant is increasing production and implementing the largest order in its history. Very soon, 400 new buses on liquefied gas will go to St. Petersburg.

    Volgabus Group Holding will become one of the key manufacturers of equipment for the new transport scheme, which is being implemented in the Northern capital. The signed contract for the supply of buses will return the company to leadership in the segment of large and extra large buses on the routes of St. Petersburg.

    The agreement was financed by the State Transport Leasing Company. The new delivery will ensure almost full utilization of the enterprises of the Volgabus Group located in the Volgograd and Vladimir regions. However, most of the bus will be produced in the Volzhsky.

    At a press conference with regional media, the head of the largest machine-building plant in the region, Anatoly Bakulin, spoke about the progress of ongoing projects, new models, personnel for the fast-growing enterprise and plans for new fuel.

    "We have gone through difficult times. We had components at the border for three months. Nevertheless, during the pandemic, the plant did not stop. We have enlisted the support of the regional administration, as a system-forming enterprise of the region. We found solutions with the tax inspectorate. We chose the right strategy and preserved the team and science. Today we are fulfilling the largest order in history. The plant is also provided with contracts for the next year. As part of the further expansion of production, we plan to make up to 100 buses per month." – Anatoly Bakulin said. 

    The company is constantly upgrading the model range. Not so long ago, the Volgabus 6271G, a gas-powered articulated 18-meter bus with increased passenger capacity, came off the assembly line. And for the new project, the research and development center has developed and certified the Volgabus 5270.G2 model — a 12-meter gas-powered bus using liquefied natural gas as fuel. The volume of the cryobacter of the model is 335 liters, which will allow buses to work from early morning to late evening without refueling.

    The fuel used in the new buses is liquefied natural gas methane, which is in a liquid state at a very low temperature of -161.5 °C, without compression. When it enters the ordinary atmosphere, it quickly returns to a gaseous state, increasing in volume by 600 times.

    Today, the next batch of emerald low-floor buses Volgabus 5270.G2 is ready for shipment. Another 25 buses will go to St. Petersburg on September 3.

    "Low-floor buses running on liquefied gas are modern, economical and environmentally friendly. The plant was one of the first in Russia to certify and put them into mass production." – Anatoly Bakulin said. 

    Low-floor 12-meter cars should have a positive impact on the environmental situation in the Northern capital. Buses running on liquefied gas practically do not emit solid particles and form two times less nitrogen oxides compared to diesel analogues. In addition, they do not have steps at the entrance and are equipped with a body tilt system that increases the speed of boarding and disembarking passengers.

    Serious attention is paid to people with disabilities. They are provided with a folding ramp, sound and light alarms, driver call buttons and information signs using Braille.

    The composition of the equipment of the cars is designed to ensure the comfort of passengers and the driver. The buses will be equipped with a powerful air conditioner and such modern options as Wi-Fi, USB charging on the handrails. And for the driver — a modern automatic transmission, a GLONASS on-board communication and navigation system and a tachograph.

    The Russian holding company Volgabas Group supplies buses throughout the country: to Moscow and the Moscow region, Novokuznetsk, Kemerovo, Omsk, Voronezh.

    As part of the Clean Air program, new Volgabus gas buses will be delivered to another major Russian city, Chelyabinsk, by the end of this year. The industrial center will receive 2.3 billion rubles for the modernization of the public transport system.

    The delivery will strengthen the status of Volgabus as a national leader in the production of buses powered by natural gas. The holding was the first in Russia to create a full line of machines using methane and has already produced more than 1000 eco-friendly machines of various classes for the regions of the country.

This made it possible to significantly reduce the assembly time of the bus and increase labor productivity. By the way, the Volga plant was the first in the country to master this technology.

Today, there are many factories in the same CIS, where buses are assembled, but they buy chassis in China, Germany and Sweden.     Today, Volgabas Volzhsky produces 8 models of buses and has reached a record performance — up to three buses per day. The plant produces more than half of the components itself or purchases them from Russian partners. For its technological and design developments, the use of domestic products, the company was able to confirm the status of "Russian manufacturer" in relation to diesel and gas-powered buses. This will allow the holding to participate in bidding for government contracts.

    In order to continue to grow and develop, the plant needs new workers - including locksmiths, painters, welders, assemblers and designers.

    "The company is changing the technology to increase labor productivity and the staff of the plant should grow by at least 100 people by the end of the year." – Anatoly Bakulin said. 

    According to the management of the Volgabas Volzhsky plant, highly qualified specialists are the main value. The company is ready to provide a decent salary for the region, the average amount of which will soon exceed 50 thousand rubles. Both representatives of working professions and specialists of engineering and technical specialties earn well.

    "We try to make the company like this: new designs, new technologies, new projects. So that our employees know for sure-this is where the future is. And they saw themselves in it. So that they do not have to leave the region, but stay at home and work. Now the main task is to create all the conditions for our people to earn and live with dignity." – Anatoly Bakulin said. 

    By 2024, the plant's management intends to launch new production lines. It keeps its finger on the pulse and knows that in two or three years new fuel will be released for public transport. Now the plant is working on obtaining a special investment contract from the state for further development of the liquefied gas technology and the introduction of hydrogen. Anatoly Bakulin is sure that they are the future of the machine-building industry.

    A test tram to Verkhnyaya Pyshma to be launched in autumn.

    According to the governor, the timing of opening traffic on this route will depend on passing this check. It is planned that low-floor trams will run from Yekaterinburg to Verkhnyaya Pyshma at speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour (in Yekaterinburg – up to forty).

    GAZelle City went to conquer the Czech market. 

    In the Czech Republic, at the Auta na náplavce 2021 exhibition held at the end of August, a local distributor of the Gorky Automobile Plant presented a frame semi-low-floor GAZelle City bus (aka A68R52). Until now, the City was offered only in Russia and the CIS countries.

    GAZelle City has been released since the spring of 2020. Its distinctive features are a low floor level, a storage platform for passengers in the central part of the cabin, a pneumatic system for lowering the floor height at stops, a wide double door. The model is available only with a Cummins ISF/Huadong ISF turbodiesel (2.8 liters, 150 hp), a 5-speed manual transmission, rear-wheel drive.

    Pneumatic elements in the rear suspension complement the leaf springs and thus significantly increase the smoothness of the bus. The other passenger GAZelles use leaf springs at the rear. The bus is designed to carry 22 passengers and has 17 seats (including 3 folding seats) and 5 standing places. 

    The design features of the GAZelle City are an original reinforced frame with a drop in the central part, a rear axle with increased load capacity, an effective braking system with disc mechanisms on all four wheels.

    The compact dimensions (bus length — 6600 mm, width — 2510 mm) make it easy to maneuver on narrow city streets or in heavy traffic. The minimum turning radius is only 7.2 m.

    The City is equipped with a body plumage and LED headlights from the GAZelle NN.

    In Russia, the car costs from 2,990,000 rubles, the price for the Czech Republic is still unknown.

    The main business of the GAZ Group distributor in the Czech Republic is the sale of four-wheel drive Sobol 4WD and rear-wheel drive GAZelle Next.

    The City has already been shown in the European Union — but in the form of a prototype with a purely electric power unit: the car was presented in Latvia in 2019, and under the RAF brand.

    Tram 71-923M ("Bogatyr-M") arrived at the tram depot No.2 of Cherepovets. This tram with factory number 1 was built in 2019 and before its acquisition by Cherepovets, it had already passed tests in this city (but in a different color variant). The tram also work for a short time in Chelyabinsk.
