I hope I am right that this is where you introduce yourself. Thanks GarryB for the reminder. (I posted this in another member's introduction topic. Is there a way to delete that? ....just did)
I am from Ethiopia and a really big enthusiast when it comes to military hardware and spacecraft. Also a bit of a Russophile I guess. So no wonder that I am here then. Hope there are no prejudices against African members in the forum. I have actually been an obsessed follower for some time even before joining. Thanks for letting me in.

Hi, thanks for the welcome. We have the Basic model Su-27s bought second hand from Russia just before the Ethio-Eritrean war. Had to be flown by Russian pilots initially. They downed four MiG-29s. I am sure the moderators are frowning about this off-topic endeavor right now. So thanks for the greeting.

Thanks. I have always thought that this was a very informative forum, both technically and politically. I will try to live upto that.

The forum is made better by having voices from as many different countries as possible.

When Turkey shot down a Russian plane Turkish posters got a bit of stick but none were banned, because communication is important and in the longer term rather more valuable than the short term satisfaction of banning someone.

Being able to talk to people to understand why what happened had happened is more useful and creates a situation were stupid actions like killing each other can be avoided in the future.
