Poland Has the Highest Wealth Disparity/Inequality in Europe, Excluding Belarus, Ukraine, and Russia.

    Very interesting article in Polish:

    According to data from 2017.

And there has been a slight improvement since 2016, because of some measures taken by the new "Law and Justice" government during that year. It was even worse before that time.

I guess Russia should consider itself honoured to be considered part of Europe for a change?

    It is a French study.

The data is from the early 1980's until 2017, which covers entire Europe except for Belarus, Ukraine, and Russia. I have no idea why these three countries were excluded from the study. Possibly because they had difficulty in obtaining data?

Here is a map, the more the dark red color the greater wealth disparity/inequality, the more dark green color, the smaller the disparity/inequality.

Poland is in the process of trying to spend $40 billion US to buy 9 gigawatts of nuclear power generation to be deployed
by 2050. This includes six reactors (1.5 gigawatts each so about right) to be built by Westinghouse. The initial expense
for this project is $18 billion US.

    1) Westinghouse has demonstrated that it is in serious crisis brought about by the atrophy of nuclear power construction in
the US. I suppose with enough effort a new generation of engineers and technicians can be trained to make Westinghouse
viable. So this is maybe not a total show stopper. But China contracted Westinghouse and GE to build six reactors of which
they could only build two. The construction time went from 4 years to 12 years and the costs tripled. So China tore up
    the contract.

    2) Poland receives between 20 and 30 billion euro injections per year from Burxelles. As I posted before Poland is a
propaganda scare crow designed to hoodwink the former Warsaw Pact space.

    3) Bruxelles is in crisis itself and is cutting back on handouts to even the Baltic chihuahua statelets which should be
affordable for it. So Poland's days of easy money from EU taxpayers outside of Poland (primarily Germany, France
and Austria) are numbered. If the same factor of three construction costs and time problem appears, then Poland
will not be getting $18 x 3 or $40 x 3 billion US in subsidies from Bruxelles.

Add that Poland's budget is stretched really thin by all welfare benefits that the currently ruling far right party had to introduce in order to win elections. Now the gov mismanaged COVID and tried to divert attention by toughening abortion laws but all that backfired.

It is stretched really thin by all the tributes Polish government pays to Ukraine.

For example, citizens of Ukraine need only a single month of working in Poland to obtain the same retirement pay that Poles need to work for around 20, 30, 40, or more years.

Also, Trump's U.S. government demands that Poland pay for the stationing of the U.S. troops on its own soil; this sounds Nazi-like. On top of that Polish government paid lots of money for "advanced" U.S.-made planes that the Polish military will not receive until a few years from now at the earliest.

I am not sure what will happen now with Biden.

It is the extreme subservience of the Polish government to the West and Ukraine that is very costly.

It isn't "Nazi like" to demand you be paid if you are going to deploy troops to a country on request. Trump was also clear if Poland wants US forces to protect it, Poland needs to honor its agreement to NATO. Since Poland got into NATO it wasn't paying the money it agreed to pay. So Trump gave Poland a choice "You pay what you agreed to pay or we leave".

Stationing thousands of troops plus equipment isn't cheap, If Poland doesn't want the US there guess what it can ask them to leave at any point it wants to.

Then I guess you can tell this to the much wealthier Germany and U.K., as the U.S. government pays both of these countries for stationing its troops on their soil.

Why demand such payments from a much poorer Poland?

I guess it is take from the poor and give it to the rich logic so typical of Trump.

"So Trump gave Poland a choice." Really? You even believe he gave Poland a choice? Currently Poland is not that independent.

I think you can leave, Poland does not need your U.S. troops. I am not the only Polish person who thinks so.
