Next President of Russia

I would like to officially go on record making a prediction of who will be the next president of Russia post Putin. I noticed polling data in Russia asking if Russians would vote for a female president and then it struck me - the heir to Putin will be Maria Vladimirovna Zakharova. She is 41, attractive, and represents a new generation of leadership not compromised by the "West". Remember you heard it here first.

I was actually thinking the same thing. I noticed how Russians are keen on having a woman act as a politician in Russia and Woman in general in Russia tend to be a different breed of woman in general vs outside of Russia. There tends to be a lot of strong and very patriotic bunch and Maria would indeed be a good case of being a president of said country. She is very vocal, strong and seems to really have a dislike for liars and thieves; particularly the west.

I was actually thinking the same thing.

She is both competent and popular. And unlike more obvious candidates she is much younger. Shoigu is more obvious choice but he is getting long in the tooth. Same for many others but they would all provide excellent support for candidate like her.

That would be amazing. She seems more than capable of leading arguably "Russia's" next few years on the world stage. Her statements against the US are often more hardline than VVP's as well... with the reemergence of Russia as a serious counterbalance to US imperial power and cosmopolitan/neo-liberalist group think, an Iron Lady would be quite something.

But I digress, time will tell.

i think she would a good and strong President of the Russian Federation ... but i still have a feeling it could be Dmitry Medvedev again

Not only that, George is also unfamiliar with pre-Soviet Russian history as well. There was quite a number of women with important roles in Russian history: not only Catherine the Great (the most famous), but Peter's daughter Elizaveta (Elizabeth) Petrovna was also a very good empress, and Olga who was the first Russian ruler to convert to Christianity.

What about Natalya Poklonskaya? She is a silovik (from the ministry of justice) who gained national projection, but she would need to gain experience in the executive power, perhaps if she went for governor of Crimea she could then become a candidate for presidency. But I guess she just doesn't have such ambitions.

I also would like to see her as president of Russia. Let's hope so, but she needs to gain experience in some important executive position before that and that couldn't happen for the next presidential elections for sure.

There's enough time to gain experience.

And just because she is not officially tied to security apparatus does not mean she is not connected. Like kvs said "silovik" (man I hate that expression).

Valentina Matviyenko is my pick. She has been around to know things quite well. In any case fate of the state will certainly be entrusted to one of the most carefully

thought off persons in Russia I have no doubt.

World powers in the old times had women as rulers (Catherine the Great in Russia in the 18th century, Elizabeth in England in the 16th century, Isabella in Spain in the late 15th century), all of them had critical roles in their countries so no, it is not a politically correct fashion nor it is feminism. Christianity is not Islam and always considered women fully human and able to perform many important actions, including rule powerful countries.

You obviously are not aware of Russia history . it was Catherine the great
one of the most successful leaders in Russia who ruled for longer time . and She was not even Russian..but german . lol

She created the most stable and successful period in Russia history and defined the borders and took Crimea away from the Turkey and tatars for Russia empire.
She even lead the wars against Ottoman Empire kicking Turkey from Europe. So womens as far i see are much better prepared to Rule Russia and take it to a new level.

Putin have a serious problem of leadership as many times i have told before ,mayor problems of insecurity , with a very short sighted view of Russia. Is a terrible mistake for the leader of a nation , close to treason ,to downplay their own nation and he have done many times by claiming United States is the only super power..  

Here watch by yourselves the biggest problem of Russia.

That was the most PATHETIC , the most saddest and shameful behavior of Putin ever as a leader. you never downplay your own country no matter what. Thats very demoralising for your own army and your own scientist that though they can compete with the west. Leaders have to show to be a big fan of their own nation and not to praise other countries as better than yours.  
Putin was much better when he began .. he was much more secure than that.
he is simply becoming a dinosaur now.

When American see Putin like that.. what message he is sending to them?
something like this. "Look at that Poor man , he is about to Cry.    What we doing is working lets keep our sanctions and hostilities going on and continue to humilliate Russia and they will break "

He fall short of starting to apology to Americans for not being nice with them.    

and this is pure idiocy . THis is not the way to lead a nation,and promote Russian people to have confidence on themselves by labeling other nations as much stronger and powerful than them.    

Putin and lavrov complains all the time the west doesn't take seriously
Russia interest. but why will that be?     Why Putin or someone close to him
does not tell that idiot , that he is to blame for it?

Sadly medvedev is even worse. So Russia is a leaderless nation. If Putin tomorrow dies ,The Future of Russia to keep it together will be in question.
Because any other that comes after him ,will only be more insecure people close to him.

A country like Russia will have been far better in the hands of someone like MArine le Penn, someone that encourage people to follow them, or like former Argentinian leader Christina Fernandez, they are real leaders ,that do not apologize to their enemies like MR putin does. A Future leader of Russia will have to be the opposite of Putin apologistic nature. Someone with very high confidence .Fidel Castro for example, he was the ultimate leader in the world , he is respected in the world , even by his enemies. This is what Russia needs a LEADER. Someone that believe Russia can do better and can become a much better alternative than United States and her created business world. You can do that luring away nations away from the American world to the Russian world. But President Putin ,his insecurity is what makes the Americans and Europeans to humiliate Russia again and again and again and slap their face every time ,while Putin just turn the other cheek everytime they humiliate Russia.  

As long Putin is in power , Russia will never become a leader in the world in anything. Because he is fucking clueless about how to defeat his enemies in their own game. In business leadership ,This is where the real power of American comes. in how attractive is the business world they control. that is NATO countries and JAPAN.

Is not a total disaster only because Putin is patriotic and have good intentions and Russia have world class scientist that can produce very fine military hardware that rivals anyone. But patriotism and good intentions is not enough.
A leader with vision , A leader with confidence on Russia capabilities to lead the world is needed. The next leader in Russia needs to inspire Russians to compete with the west in the place they more feel proud about themselves. in their business leadership. Russia next leader needs to be someone who understand that Nation security and stability and independence what Putins always says he wants , is not only gained ,by having a powerful army. or by winning many medals in olympics or by making movies about their victories 100 years ago. Russia next leader next to be someone with real vision , that fully understand that the only way to have peace in the world and put an end to the American hegemony is by being a solid alternative to United States and pushing very hard not in sports olympics. but instead in creating a very powerful business industry. Russia needs an industrial revolution .and not in producing lots of potatoes and grain. but in creating state the art technology for civilians ,that they will love to have.  This was told by Germany companies to Putin ,and the idiot does not get it. The west will never abandon the American world dictatorship plans , until they can find another nation that can become an alternative to US. Allowing Americans to lead in every business that matters for the capitalistic world and steal the show in space is the most idiotic mistake of Putin Policy ,specially when Russia had a big potential in space to really take the lead there.  Putin is by far the most over rated leader in the world. A leader he is not. He is only a diplomat but that is patriotic. but thats it.
