Russian troops already have experience fighting in South Ossetia. Russian troops have greater discipline and capability plus they have home field advantage. The scenario you have painted seems like a good way for Turkey to lower its male population of fighting age. I can't see how they could inflict casualties at a rate of better than 10 to 1. That is a conservative estimate in my opinion, I think a rout is more likley with panic and disarray. The Russians won't know where to put all the defectors/prisoners. Alot of Turkish/Georgian equipment would be destroyed or confiscated by VDV units early on, artillery exchanges is a bad idea for the Turks, this is where Russia excels. I have no idea what tactics the Turks could employ here that could gain them anything. Once the Russian's put together a counter offensive, the only damage inflicted would be early surprise strikes.

It's not even kornet but Metis-M...are we sure these guys are Isis and not "ISIS" (r)?

I'll repeat it, Syria is such a clusterfuck that everything is possible at this rate.

According to news, at least 2 of the 3 Firtina targeted were blown up to bits.

This guy expects Russia to lose 2 jets for every jet of Turkey, this is laughable IMO. I expect the rate to be 1 to 3 in favor of Russia AT LEAST.
Now if Russia goes for prolonged bombing of Turkish infrastructure deep in Turkish territory then yes, the loses will be substantial but I can be very much mistaken given how rapidly RuAF improves every year.

Interesting thread. Very Happy I think our disadvantages are Air Defense Systems and Ballistic Missiles. Turkish Armed Forces is still using MIM-23 Hawk XXI. We deployed some Hawk systems near to Turkey-Syria border but this system doesnt have anti-ballistic missile(ABM) capable. Also Turkey doesnt have ballistic missile. We just have J-600T Yıldırım TBM's and this missiles developed on Chinese B-611 TBM.

Yes you guys are lacking in the air defense department, however your air force is modern and capable.
