One of their B-2s slammed itself into the dirt because some pitot tube got moisture in them. Yes, US planes are that fragile - very capable machines but fragile. Which is doubly amusing because the current trends of supply chain and personnel issues plus increasing technical complexities of aircraft won't lend well to the continued operation of their aircrafts either.

The quality of the military personnel is steadily declining.
That is the biggest issue here.
Try to find some inside military studies for that matter, it gives a mind-blowing picture.
Remember reading about the USN personnel once.
Some of the staff were revealed as non-English speaking, and some illiteracy cases were revealed as well.
It is a sad picture of dying hegemony, all along and with multiple aspects...

Another one literally bites the dust, I doubt the engines enjoyed that mouthful.

Sorry Lockheed Martin, the 'plank-challenge' fad died out a decade ago...what next, Bell-Bottoms? I mean Western politicians take bell-ends in their bottoms, but that's different and beyond the point.

The US Air Force decided to get rid of F-22 fighters

     F-22 Raptor: News and Discussion - Page 10 F22_usaf_d_850

The US Air Force intends to write off 33 F-22 Raptor stealth fighters and 117 other types of aircraft, writes The Drive , citing the Pentagon's budget request for fiscal year 2023.

The F-22A of the early series, which were used as training vehicles, will be withdrawn from the combat aviation. Their modernization would cost $1.8 billion. The military offered to use this money to upgrade the F-35 and maintain the fleet of the remaining Raptors. About one and a half hundred F-22s will remain in service - from which the US Air Force also plans to get rid of in the coming years.

In exchange, the US Air Force plans to purchase 61 F-35 Lighting II fighters - 24 aircraft less than the US Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps requested. The Pentagon announced that they would slow down the purchase of Lightings until the appearance of a more advanced modification of the Blovk 4. The serial F-35 found a lot of problems with the engine, weapons and radar-absorbing coating.

The purchase of 24 F-15EX fighters is also planned - in return, 67 F-15s of the early series will be decommissioned. The new planes will go to serve in Okinawa. The Navy refused to buy carrier-based F / A-18 fighters - the Pentagon intends to direct the saved funds to the development of the next generation fighter (NGAD).

The army is also going to donate 100 MQ-9 Reaper reconnaissance and strike drones (a third of its fleet) to an "unnamed government organization" - as the CIA is usually called in documents.

So all that fanboi dick stroking has fizzled out.   The US is doubling down on the flying tub called the F-35.

Tom Cruise will bring down every Su-57 in one.
