Hello from yet another migrant

PS: Forgot to mention this in my opening post, so here it is for the sake of posterity: I am a Russian/Ukrainian currently living in Melbourne, Australia (with some family members living in eastern Ukraine).

Best wishes to your family... hopefully despite the interference of the EU and US this can be sorted out behind a table rather than behind artillery and rifle butts.

A military solution will only hold as long as the military balance holds... the west could easily reinforce their side to a point where a round two could occur and that would not be good for anyone.

Regarding banning here... if you keep civil and respectful of each other and don't post porn and do as you are asked by a mod then there wont need to be any bans.

I wont ban someone for their opinion whether I agree with it or not... of course if you start a racist or conspiracy theorist rant don't expect anyone to take you seriously either.

there are people here who don't believe anyone has landed on the moon, that 11/9 was an inside job and the building was made of nano explosives, and that white people are superior and western white people are in danger. Personally I find that if you keep to topic and avoid the topics you have a problem with, or simply state your own opinion and don't expect others to change their opinions just because of yours we should all somehow manage to get along.

I should add that many western sites I have visited did allow conspiracy theories... but only ones like Putin kills Russian expats in the UK using Polinium, and that only Russia could have been responsible for shooting down airliners over the Ukraine.... remember we can discuss things but i can't force you to be right....

So far, my family have stayed put in Lugansk even though quite a few of their friends have left (some left for Kiev, some for Crimea, one guy even managed to get his family in as refugees into Sweden). Nonetheless, quite a few people have remained in the cities.
If the situation will escalate into something much more serious, they will hopefully be able to make it to Russia where we have some real estate and more extended family members.

When it comes to conspiracy theories, I typically tend to be the disinterested but amused party that has to take on the mantle of the devil's advocate in order to highlight logical fallacies in said theories.
So have no worries about me in that regard
