We don't seem to have a civilian shipbuilding thread so I'll post this here...maybe the thread should be renamed to include news about other civilian ships

The first one is planned to be laid down in 2019....they're BIG bastards. Apparently they will have the option to arm them with Kalibr's, Onyx, Zircon and Redut for Airdefence

As reported on May 24, 2018, the Information Policy Department of PJSC "National Company Rosneft", LLC "SC" Zvezda "(Bolshoy Kamen) and FSUE" Rosmorport "with the support of Rosneft signed a contract for the design and construction of a unique icebreaker draft of about 3 meters and a capacity of 6.4 MW.

Vyborg Shipyard launches port icebreaker Ob built for FSUE Atomflot
According to Mustafa Kashka, Chief Engineer and First Deputy General Director of FSUE Atomflot, the Ob icebreaker will be the first non-nuclear-powered icebreaker of Atomflot.
“Despite the absence of nuclear power plant, the icebreaker is powerful enough and features exclusive maneuverability that will let it perform the entire scope of works in the Gulf of Ob. The ship is equipped with an innovative propulsion unit”, added Mustafa Kashka.

Three new nuclear icebreakers of project 10510 "Leader" will be built in Russia, the issue of financing has been resolved, Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov said.
Borisov said before the meeting of the Russian-Indian intergovernmental Commission that" there will be three icebreakers", adding that the issue of financing the project is resolved, RIA"Novosti".
The construction will be carried out by the seaside shipbuilding complex Zvezda in cooperation with Russian shipbuilders, including the St. Petersburg Baltic plant, where work is currently underway on three universal nuclear icebreakers of the 22220 project........

Agreed, quite a change there.
As for icebreakers originally there were supposed to be 5 Arktika-class and 2 Leader-class but it looks like they opted for 3 Arktikas and 3 Leaders.
6 instead of 7 but this way half of those 6 will be behemoths

The 3 Arktikas are already the largest/powerfulst ice breakers in the world. With the Leader you can travel to the North Pole in december.
