Sewelo (gigantic diamond) arrives in France

Sewelo was found last year in Botswana and was given to Louis Vuitton.

The Diamond is unimaginable 1785 carat.

The finders were paid 30.000 €



Thats an unusual low price. Normal price for each carat is mininimum 4750 €

That means the Diamond has a minimum value of 8.5 Million €.

Its currently on display in Paris

If they don't cut break it up it will be the world's largest single diamond.

The cheque in the photo says 30,000 Pula, which according to the current exchange rate is 2,511.03 Euros... they should have destroyed it and demanded better pay...

They use explosives to dig... a simple shaped charge could be built to shatter it completely... you are not confusing hard with strong... hard can be brittle too.

Here is a simple thinking exercise for you... if the fucking things are indestructable by anything except other diamonds how the fuck do they cut diamonds in the first place? What did they use to cut the first one?

When making tank armour you don't want it to be as hard as possible because very very hard steel is brittle and can shatter when impacted by a penetrator...

BTW you are confusing hardness with toughness... a diamond is very hard but not particularly tough....

Cancer rates are high around the world because Monsanto and other big companies make poisons that are used in agriculture... and of course to provide enough meat for the worlds population normal farming with open fields wont work, so you build a huge building and fill it with hundreds of thousands of animals like chickens or pigs and they stand at a trough and eat and never move anywhere... steroids give them muscle mass so they have some flesh to them and of course antibiotics deal with the equivalent of bed sores because they can't groom themselves in the confines of their cages... and then when they are butchered they inject chemicals to produce the right colour flesh their customers prefer and to preserve the meat because it might be getting shipped to another country and sit in customs for two weeks before it gets anywhere near the customer... it is all these chemicals in processed meats that cause cancer but they wont admit it because there is not enough arable land to farm naturally to meet demand in large population centres like London etc etc...
