President Milei cuts short international trip over Middle East crisis

President Javier Milei is ending his international trip early to handle his country's response to the crisis in the Middle East.

President Javier Milei is ending his international trip early to handle his country's response to the crisis in the Middle East, his spokesperson said Saturday, after Iran launched a wave of drones and missiles at Israel.

"The President is returning to Argentina to form a Crisis Committee due to the latest events in Israel, to take charge of the situation and coordinate actions with the presidents of the Western world," Presidential Spokesman Manuel Adorni said on X, formerly Twitter.

Iran launched more than 100 drones towards Israel on Saturday, an Israeli military official said, warning that more "waves of drones" would likely come from the Islamic Republic.

The government on Saturday expressed its "solidarity and unwavering commitment" to Israel in the face of the Iranian attack.

"The Office of President Javier Milei expresses its solidarity and unwavering commitment to the State of Israel in the face of the attacks launched by the Islamic Republic of Iran," the press release said.

"The Argentine Republic recognises the right of nation-states to defend themselves, and emphatically supports the State of Israel in the defence of its sovereignty, especially against regimes that promote terror and seek the destruction of Western civilisation," it added.

Milei was scheduled to travel from the United States on Saturday to Copenhagen to participate in the official ceremony marking an agreement for Argentina to buy two dozen F-16 fighter jets from Denmark.

The President reportedly took the decision with his sister, presidential chief-of-staff Karina Milei, after analysing the situation. Infobae reported that he has requested calls with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to express his support.

Upon his return to Buenos Aires, Milei will prepare a series of emergency measures to prevent possible terrorist attacks, government sources told local outlets.

While in the United States, Milei met with tech billionaire Elon Musk and received an award from the Chabad Jewish group. He also announced his break up with his girlfriend, actress and comedian Fátima Flórez.

The libertarian leader has shifted Argentina's foreign policy since taking office. Milei's latest decision is part of his geopolitical alignment with the United States and Israel, a chance he has outlined on multiple occasions.

In an interview earlier this week, Milei – who grew up Catholic but has a professed "fanaticism" for Judaism – said "he important thing is to ally with Israel."

He has promised to move Argentina's Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem as a show of support for the Jewish state.

Ben Shapiro interviews Javier Milei: ‘freedom and Israel’ link key
Detailing his Middle East stance, the president told the conservative political commentator that Israel stands for ‘Western values’

    APRIL 15, 2024

President Javier Milei told U.S. conservative commentator Ben Shapiro he supports Israel because the “value of freedom” is there and his government has decided to “embrace western values.”

Milei’s comments came during an interview uploaded to Shapiro’s YouTube channel on Sunday, titled “On the front lines of freedom.”

Shapiro introduced the president as “a figure that has not only captivated the attention of his nation, but has stirred conversations around the globe about the direction of western civilization, economic freedom, and the power of individualism.”

He added that Milei is a “polarizing figure in Argentine politics, championing a libertarian approach in a landscape traditionally dominated by populist and socialist policies.”

Discussing his Middle East stance, Milei said: “In Israel [Western values] are in the second book of the Torah, the Shemot, the Exodus. Without a doubt, Moses was the greatest freedom hero of all time.”

The “link between freedom and Israel” is vital to understanding his position, he continued.

On Sunday, Milei condemned Iran’s drone and missile attack on Israel, supporting the country’s “defense of its sovereignty” against those who seek to “exterminate” it. Milei has said he plans to move Argentina’s embassy to the disputed territory of West Jerusalem.

The president said that Europe and the Founding Fathers of the United States championed western values, but the old continent is stagnating due to its economic regulations. He added that the first Argentine constitution, written in 1853, is “very related” to the U.S. Constitution and that the document turned Argentina “from a country of barbarians to the first world power” in 35 years.

During the 55-minute interview, Milei said there are “very dark sides” to his life, explaining that the fact he was “a soccer goalkeeper” in his youth fashioned his personality. Speaking in Spanish, Milei used the U.S. English term “soccer” to refer to football instead of the Spanish fútbol.

Milei also said that, despite his administration’s harsh austerity measures, his approval ratings and voter intention are rising.

“That means the cultural battle is bearing fruit,” he said.

The Israeli ambassador to Argentina participates in the meeting of Javier Milei's cabinet

This content was published on April 15, 2024

Buenos Aires, April 14 (EFE).- The Israeli ambassador to Argentina, Eyal Sela, participated this Sunday in the cabinet meeting called by the president of the South American country, Javier Milei, as a result of the crisis in the Middle East. As reported by the Presidency of Argentina in a statement, members of the Executive - headed by the president and the vice president, Victoria Villarruel - held a meeting this Sunday night at the Casa Rosada (seat of Government) after the attack perpetrated the day before by Iran over Israel. The Israeli diplomat participated in the meeting and appeared alongside the presidential spokesman, Manuel Adorni, to “express the gratitude” of the president of his country, Isaac Herzog, and the prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, for the “clear and resounding condemnation” of the attack made. by the Argentine Executive. “At the Cabinet meeting, the ministers of the relevant areas gave details about the actions of each portfolio,” the source reported. Milei arrived this Sunday from the United States, after suspending the international trip undertaken in the middle of this week and which was also supposed to take him to Denmark. As confirmed by the spokesperson, shortly before 7:00 p.m. (22:00 GMT) this Sunday, the regular airliner in which the president was flying arrived at the Ministerio Pistarini International Airport, located in Ezeiza (province of Buenos Aires). . From there he went to the Government House to form the “crisis committee” that was announced the day before by the Presidency of Argentina, following Iran's attack on Israel. He suspended the trip to Denmark Milei had suspended his trip to Denmark on Saturday, where he was going to finalize the purchase of a fleet of 24 F-16 fighter jets to modernize the Argentine Air Force and, he even planned to fly in one of them . However, an Argentine delegation, led by the Minister of Defense, Luis Petri, will sign the aforementioned agreement on Tuesday in Copenhagen. The head of state traveled to the United States to receive an award from a Jewish organization in Miami, where he also met with the president of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Ilan Goldfajn. Later, he met in Austin (Texas) with billionaire businessman Elon Musk. Hours later, Milei himself confirmed on social networks the end of his relationship with comedian Fátima Flórez, who had been his partner since August 2023, in the middle of the election campaign. Iran's attack on Israel The Iranian Revolutionary Guard confirmed this Saturday the launch of an attack against Israel in retaliation for the bombing against the consulate in Damascus on April 1, in which seven of its members died. Dubbed 'Operation True Promise', the attack is "part of the punishment of that illegitimate and criminal regime", in reference to Israel, the elite military body indicated in a statement collected by the state agency IRNA. Since Milei's inauguration last December, Argentina has turned its foreign policy towards the United States and Israel, countries it considers lighthouses. The president traveled to Israel last February, when he made a tour that took him to that country, Italy and the Vatican. Among other activities, there he held meetings with Herzog and Netanyahu. Argentina has the largest Jewish population in Latin America and the fifth in the world. In his memory, he keeps two serious attacks against the interests of that community: the one perpetrated against the Israeli Embassy in 1992 and that of the Argentine Israelite Mutual Association (AMIA) in 1994, which left more than 100 dead and hundreds injured. . Furthermore, last Thursday, a court ruling in a case linked to the main file of the 'AMIA case' held Iran and the Lebanese militia Hezbollah responsible for the 1994 attack, the worst in the history of Argentina, and described it as a “crime of It hurts humanity".

⚠ Summary of a new attack on Argentine Sovereignty

☠ Milei gathered her cabinet into the Crisis Committee, sat the Israeli ambassador at the head of the table and provided him with all the national Security and Intelligence information.
☠ Immediately afterwards, she coordinated with the foreign representative joint actions not yet reported to the Argentine People, although to Netanyahu.
☠ Finally, the Israeli gave a speech from the Casa Rosada itself, taking the place of the presidential spokesperson.
☠ And the best interest of Argentina? He was buried under Milei's mystical delirium.

Israel is strong with western values, but not the values they talk about and abuse other countries for not following like they are their own values, but the values of corruption and over reaction and bombing sovereign states without worrying about international law and the UN. Also they view self defence as being bloody revenge on their enemies so they end up bombing totally different countries from those that actually attacked them.

Iran does not control the Houthies... they supplied weapons and support when so many middle east countries (including Saudi Arabia and others) were fighting them, but there was no direct control... Iran wasn't directing that war and didn't really want to either. The situation repeats, Iran is supporting the Houthies with weapons and support but is certainly not dictating to the Houthies what they can or cannot do with those weapons because I am sure Iran would not have suggested they do what the Houthies are doing. But the US and Israel know that bombing a stone age civilisation to the stone age just supplies carbon fibre and metals to an otherwise backward nation, so instead of bombing the Houthies... which is actually much harder than it sounds and using multi million dollar missiles to hit a few light vehicles or a building or two is not good value for money. So they pretend it is all Iran that is driving this so they can justify attacking Iran... which is Ironic because if Russia used the same logic they would therefore be allowed to attack all the G7 and HATO countries that are supporting Kiev...

As usual they are trying to fight a propaganda war when they are wasting their time. Their supporters will let them do anything they please and they are not likely to win new supporters with the actions they are taking right now. Listen to the US government... Israel has said it will retaliate because like other western countries it does not know when enough is enough and thinks that it can keep escalating and eventually the enemy will give up and then they win... of course it never actually works in practise, but it might work eventually right?

The Argentine government is wanting to scare the population, with the possibility of attacks on Jewish targets in our country.

    Política Argentina 14-3

They are already bringing up the issue of the explosions at the Israeli embassy and the Jewish mutual AMIA in the 90s.
The Mossad was involved in these alleged attacks to hinder the investigation.
Something striking, since it meant that the culprits could not be found.

'Anarcho-capitalist' President Javier Milei wraps elite subservience in a radical package

President Javier Milei isolated Argentina from economic partners and its South American neighbors recently with announced plans to consider sending military aid to Ukraine in its war against Russia. The controversy comes as Milei’s approval rating has sunk amidst unyielding protest over hunger across the country.

Analyst Caleb Maupin joined Sputnik’s The Critical Hour program to discuss these latest developments, claiming the self-declared “anarcho-capitalist” Milei is attempting to sell elite-friendly neoliberal economics in a faux-radical package.

“I must say that I'm not shocked by Milei's behavior,” said the journalist. “He pulled Argentina out of the BRICS talks… He's a huge supporter of Israel and its atrocities against the Palestinians and what's going on right now.”

“Milei is espousing the ideology of the global elites, which is called neoliberalism,” Maupin explained. “He's now giving up Argentina's currency, he's trying to make Argentina at this point have the US dollar… When Ecuador took these moves in the late 90s it completely destroyed Ecuador's economy. Ecuador had a man-made famine in 1999 where people were starving and dying of malnutrition.”

“Neoliberalism has been tried as an economic system, and it has failed… Neoliberalism is still the same, and free market policies are what the World Economic Forum and the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund and these huge globalist institutions, it's what they've been pushing from the beginning.”

It should be noted that at the moment Milei has a lot of support.
One of the causes is the repudiation of the previous government by the Argentine people.
And furthermore, the discredited opposition comes out attacking Milei, but without having a real policy.
What's more, they continue to insist on the issue of abortion, indegenism, feminism, inclusive language and all those types of issues that only interest the wealthy middle class.
There is also the union protest.
But let's not forget that today, white, unionized and well-paid workers are a minority.
Most of the people are unemployed, with social plans, working black-collar or informally.
