Easy there junior, vehicle of this size requires truck category driving license. You can't just hop in, there are traffic rules.

It's actually pretty practical and simple idea: automated ZU-23 to keep operator protected, Tigr chassis (readily available), cheap engine from original Tigr (not Tigr-M) and simple half decent cabin to keep standard bullets out.

Makes a lot more sense than trucks.

Russia shows its militarized buggies during Army-2017 defense show

The militarized buggies have a crew of four and can be used in reconnaissance raids and search operations

ALABINO TRAINING GROUND /Moscow Region/, August 23. /TASS/. During the Army-2017 international defense forum, Russian servicemen demonstrated the use of militarized buggies at a training ground in Alabino near Moscow on Tuesday.

"A mobile combat group, formed on the basis of the Syrian battle experience, has for the first time demonstrated its capabilities during a show at the training ground on the first day of the forum," a spokesman for the event’s press service told reporters.

The militarized buggies have a crew of four and can be used in reconnaissance raids and search operations. Each vehicle has a mounted four-barrel rotary cannon that can fire up to 6,000 rounds per minute at the distance of up to 1,000 meters.

Russian defense minister examines weapons seized from terrorists in Syria

An exhibition of photographs covers all stages of the operation of the Russian military group in Syria and its daily routine

KUBINKA /Moscow Region/, August 23. /TASS/. Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu has visited the Army-2017 military-technical forum near Moscow to examine factory-made and makeshift weapons seized from terrorists in Syria.

On display visitors can see weapons being used by the Russian military group in Syria and hardware seized from terrorists. Some items are homemade and others of foreign manufacture.

Among Russian exhibits there are the multi-functional robot Uran-6, used for humanitarian mine-clearing operations, such as the one conducted in Palmyra and other Syrian cities, wheeled armored vehicle Taifun-K meant for carrying and protecting personnel, drone Forpost and diving gear for anti-sabotage coast guard units.

Shoigu closely examined the exposition featuring weapons seized from terrorists, in particular, makeshift mortars and devices for fiving gas cylinders and improvised rockets.

The show will be open to the general public on August 25-27.

The static exhibition features weapons and special technologies of the Aerospace Force, engineering troops, the Navy and military police.

An exhibition of photographs covers all stages of the operation of the Russian military group in Syria and its daily routine.

Combat module "Epoch" in the exposition of the forum "Army-2017"

At the exposition of the 3rd International Military Technical Forum "Army-2017", JSC "Design Bureau of Instrument Engineering" (KBP, Tula) demonstrated a mock-up of the prospective uninhabited combat module "Epoch", installed on the BMP-2 and BMP-3 models. Conclusion of contracts for the purchase by the Ministry of Defense of Russia of T-90M tanks and BMPT combat vehicles

As reported on August 24, 2017 by the Department of Information and Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Defense within the framework of the International Military Technical Forum "Army-2017" signed 23 state contracts worth over 170 rbl. The document was signed by Deputy Defense Minister Yury Borisov and head of the UVZ Alexander Potapov.

   "For the first time in the interests of the Ground Forces, a combat tank support vehicle, created by the Urals Design Bureau of Transport Engineering, is purchased," Borisov said.

 "The Russian Army is receiving a new type of armored weapons - a tank support vehicle, as well as the newest version of the T-90 tank - the T-90M tank." The total sum of the contracts is over 24 billion rubles, "the announcer said at the signing ceremony.

   TASS also reported that the Russian Ministry of Defense signed contracts worth 4 billion rubles at the military-technical forum "Army-2017". With the holding "High-Precision Systems" and "Design Bureau of Instrument-Making" for the delivery of the first batch of BMP-3 with the combat module "Epoch" and spare parts for the "Pantsir-C1" complexes.

The documents were signed by Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia Yuri Borisov and General Director of Instrument Design Bureau Dmitry Konoplev.

"The total amount of contracts exceeds 4 billion rubles. For the first time, the Land Forces will receive modernized infantry combat vehicles equipped with a remotely controlled combat module with modern missile and cannon armament," the announcer said at the signing ceremony.

According to another TASS report, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the Federal Nuclear Center Russian Federal Nuclear Center signed a contract at the International Military Technical Forum "Army-2017" to carry out development work "Zadira-16" to develop a combat complex on new physical principles .

Chechen Republic presents Chaborz M-3 and M-6 combat buggy at Army-2017.

Chechnya’s special purpose force training center has presented Chaborz M-6, a new, locally manufactured, six-seat buggy at Army-2017. The M-6 is armed with 7.62mm «Pecheneg» machine gun mounted on each side of the vehicle and ne 12,7 mm «Kord» heavy machine gun mounted on the roof which has a traverse of 360°.


"The display stand of the Chechen Republic has presented a new large six-seat buggy, Chaborz M-6. It is designed primarily for military purposes, offering a range of capabilities for carrying loads and mounting extra equipment. The series production of these off-road vehicles at the Chechenavto plant will start following a presentation at the Army-2017 forum," the press service said.

The Chechen Republic also presents a three seat version of its local-made buggy under the name of Charboz-M3. Developed by Russian engineers to be used as an assault, reconnaissance, medevac, or command vehicle, the light, multipurpose all-terrain vehicle can transport a crew of three and up to 250 kg of payload. The vehicle has been designed to be used in desert, mountain, and steppe terrains.

The Chaborz M-3 and M-6 can be armed with with 12.7mm Kord and Pecheneg machine guns, as well as automatic grenade launcher.

Chechenavto plant started to produce the Chaborz M-3 three-seat buggy for the military in March 2017. As of today, the series production amounts to 30 vehicles per month.
