You could just say thanks... 
Most of the limitations for new members are to prevent spammers who have in the past created multiple new members accounts and then proceeded to post lots of threads with links to other sites.
The thanks button should work after a few more days...
You will know it works when you open the thread... posts you have "Thanked" will be gray rather than white.

Can I suggest you drop the 'sir' from your thank you posts. We might have notional ranks but everyone is equal here, based on my experience.
