Rogozin at TASS: "Roscosmos gives priority to defense controls"
https://kosmosnews.fr/2022/04/29/rogozine-a-tass-roscosmos-donne-la-priorite-aux-commandes-de-la-defense/
This year, Roscosmos plans to send a mission to the Moon for the first time in the history of modern Russia. Tell me, what are the launch dates of other vehicles to the moon and when will the Russian cosmonaut be on the surface of Earth's natural satellite?
- We plan to implement this mission before the end of the 2022 launch window. Now we are in the middle of the test, which I talked about earlier: the development of technology for soft landing on the surface of the moon. As soon as the tests are completed, we will have a target date from which we can go to the launch.
As for the mission of the Luna-26 orbiter and the Luna-27 heavy lander, they will probably be adjusted taking into account that in the current situation we will spend the main financial and production resources to increase the orbital constellation.
It's more important now. I ask us to understand well, because science is very important, but now we are talking about the viability of the Russian orbital group, to give it a new quality, its work as a mixed group, civil and military.
But we are far from postponing lunar missions. By the end of May, I plan to have an in-depth dialogue with our Chinese colleagues on our cooperation in this area."
Sfera project is a national security project now .... no doubt about it
and more ...
