Well if it was attacks that led to the last ceasefire perhaps it needs to be even more attacks that lead to peace... sad it has to be that way...

Over the past few days, Yemeni activists have published pictures of MiG-29 and Sukhoi 22 fighter jets flying over the sky of the capital. This issue shows that the Ministry of Defense of Yemen has made a continuous effort to return the fighters in the air force of this country to service during the past years. Although many claim that the fighters and helicopters in the Yemeni army were destroyed in the Saudi-Emirati attacks, some sources say that before these attacks began, many of these fighters and helicopters were placed in safe places and out of the range of enemy fighters. Receiving some technical assistance and the round-the-clock efforts of Yemeni specialists, along with the MI24 and 171-MI helicopters, are slowly entering the service.

This issue is not very good news for the warlords affiliated with Saudi Arabia and the UAE, because if there is an agreement to end the war and the withdrawal of these two countries as the main parties to the conflict, the Yemeni army will work to restore peace to the entire country and establish security. And then these fighters will play an important role in changing the battle equation. This has alarmed the Saudi-affiliated Presidential Council.

The first results of the agreements between Iran and Saudi Arabia benefit the suffering people of Yemen.

A coalition of Saudi Arabia and the Emirates lifted a ban on the import of 500 goods into Yemen, introduced in early 2015.

RIA Novosti, citing a Yemeni diplomatic source, reports that the Yemeni authorities and the Houthis ruling in the north of the country, through the mediation of Oman, have agreed to extend the truce for six months.

The previous truce expired in October 2022, but then the parties failed to extend it.

According to the source, additional conditions appeared in the new agreement: to open new directions from the airport of the capital of Yemen, Sanaa, to remove restrictions on the passage of ships to the port of Hodeida, to unblock roads. It was also possible to agree that civil servants throughout Yemen would receive payments from income from energy exports.

It is expected that after the start of a new truce in Yemen, the process of political settlement under the auspices of the UN will be launched.

🟥 SANAA, YEMEN July 17 (YPA) – Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 on Monday, began deploying new defense systems along the borders with Yemen.

Media outlets reported that Saudi forces transferred many air defense systems, including Patriot and Chinese-made defense systems, to the border provinces with Yemen, especially Jizan, Najran and Asir.

🔻This is the first time that Saudi Arabia has deployed defense systems in those provinces since the start of the war on Yemen in March 2015.

Well to be fair they are deploying systems inside their own territory as opposed to inside Yemeni territory which is actually positive.

Would be more helpful if those media outlets mention where they moved them from though.

Moving them from inside Yemen back to inside Saudi territory is different from moving them from all around Saudi territory to the border with Yemen.

Updated 2023-01-16.... I wonder if the 2024-01-16 update will include a US aircraft carrier?

The US are sending carriers to the area to defend shipping going to Israel... and we all know what hot headed idiots they are when it comes to operations in the ME.
