I think you are missing the point... most likely Russian Destroyers and Cruisers and Aircraft carriers will likely carry not just S-350, but also S-400, and also S-500 missiles to defend themselves from a wide range of ballistic and subsonic and supersonic and hypersonic missiles, they will also likely have lasers for drones and other targets including blinding optical satellites too.

The point is that they wont be using their surface fleets as ABM systems... they are rather more important being a screen for incoming sub launched ballistic missiles and cruise missiles and bomber aircraft than trying to swat down ICBMs.

The land based ABM system that Russia is putting together should be plenty of protection from the diminishing western arsenals.

Putting dedicated abm systems on ships just makes them strategic targets worth setting aside a few virginia class SSNs to hunt.

Obviously they will have to be able to defend themselves from sub too of course, but they will likely be in places that really don't make sense in terms of protecting Russia from BM attack.

These missiles we are talking about are still quite small... S-500 appears to be just a rather big S-300V, while S-550 has a higher reach for faster targets so it might be a three stage weapon.

The next level up like Nudol are the size of MRBMs and would take up way too much space on a ship to be practical.
