French Civil Aircrafts Empty French Civil Aircrafts

Post  Aristide Sat May 26, 2018 11:38 am

I dont know if you heared about it, but our Airbus introduces a new model A321LR which is a revolution.

So far long ranges were covered by very large aircrafts like the A330, A340, A350 and the massive A380.

So far the A320 family was used for regional flights, inter europe flights and so on but the A321LR changes that completly. It has place
fpr 206 passengers but long range of 7400km.

This janury the prototype made a testflight from Paris to New York and also later on from Toulouse to Seychelles.

There are already over 500 orders and the aircraft is scheduled to be introduced in the market by 2019.

France for example has the problem, that we have areas of our nation all round the globe. From La Réunion, New Caledonia, French Polynesia and so on. Our nation guarantees cheap flights there
so flights from french airlines like Air France, Air Calin, Air Austral and so on are heavily subsidized. In 2015 i sat with maybe 40 others in a huge A340 to La Réunion and the ticket was cheap. So you know what the state had to pay. It was awesome for me and my girl though, because we had our own rows and could sleep stretched out ha ha

That said, the A321LR opens new posisbilities, not just to operate such routes more efficient but also offer new routes which not have been profitable before.

There is no other aircraft in that market segment with that range and Boeing has nothing to counter. It will take them years to introduce something similar.

For other national airlines the A321LR also is very positive. Russia for example would also a prime candidate

Russian airlines should hurry to order. Because we get so many orders of it so who orders first, gets first delivered.

But what if they order and pay for them and France gets told by the US to not deliver them?

Russia is already developing its own aircraft... why waste money on French products... I thought you hated Russia?

French Civil Aircrafts Empty Why has Russia no A380?

Post  Aristide Fri Aug 03, 2018 7:53 pm

    Why has Russia no A380?

Its really strange. The A380 could perfectly used by Aeroflot to connect Russias far east with Moscow or St. Petersburg. Its very big, very fast, efficient, silent and offers much room.

In short, it would be perfect for the russian market. So whats the reason for Aeroflot not having any A380 in their fleet?

The A380 is not cost efficient. The A350 is better for long haul flights and I believe Aeroflot has ordered some.

The A350 is smaller than the A380 and thats the problem. Russia is a typical "hub country". You hace center areas and logistic hubs. The A380 is perfect for such kind of market

Just curious, why would you care for them to buy A380 from you but refuse to sell them Mistrials?

The A380 is too large to be profitable. On a per head basis even the A350 is cheaper to fly when both are at full capacity and it is much harder to fill up an A380. The A380 fuel burn and maintenance costs are too high.

We can build some nice cruise ships for russia if they want but no war ships. That deal was a bad one for all who participated.

Not even western airlines want the A380 anymore. Its not only the operational costs, its the infrastructure on the ground.

A380 can carry more than twice amount of Pax, which makes it more fuel saving than the A350.

There are no catastrophic problems with the trent engine.

I have flown on A-380 several times:
It takes too long to board 500+ passengers.
It takes too long to disembark 500+ passengers.
It takes too long to wait for your checked luggage.

I have never been happy flying the A380.

I prefer the smaller planes when I travel.

I have travelled A380 many times. I love the space inside. I love how silent it is. Smaller aircraft simply cant give that standard.

The points you list above are not an issue of the A380 but simply bad airport management. In Paris and Dubai with multiple gangways boarding and disembarking is very fast. Same counts for luggage.

At 11th September i fly Australia and could chose. I did opt for the A380 and not the airline with the 777. I want arrive in good mood.

The problem is filling up the A380 to make it more economical, few airlines can do it.

You seriously need to cut RR after Brexit and let Safran make all of your engines. Rolls Royce is a disaster.

    Maybe he works for Airbus.

Range wise the A380 would make sense, but there is no large population center in the pacific region of Russia. No need for such a large plane. It could fly a few times a week, which would make it expensive. Not even the Chinese want this plane despite their huge population.

There is a general engine problem right now. My guess is they dont bring it much in the public but last year several engines exploded on various aircraft models. My guess is they put the fuel saving technology into a extreme and have no real control over it anymore.

So far it went without big damages but remember the 737 recently where debris struck the hull and a women was sucked out the aircraft.

Our A380 from Air France was lucky. But it was really hard to get it back to France for the repairs.

The A380 is just an EU equivalent of the Sukhoi KR860 designed many years before.

Transaero planned to buy A380s but it went into bankruptcy and became Rossiya which was taken over by Aeroflot I think.

I think Russia should just concentrate on its own line of airliners - from SSJ all the way up to a next gen Il-96 or CR929.

Europe has treated the Russian world atrociously eg with its Nazi junta in the Ukraine, the Mistrals, rigging Olympic entry, refusing to share data re terrorism, even shite like Eurovision shows their evil and pettiness. So I don't think Russia should showcase European projects right now.

I do think the A380 is a fantastic plane. I don't believe the propaganda of the US owned media. They always have contempt for a foreign rival eg Concorde, the SSJ etc And the US plays as dirty as fuck when its selling its vastly overrated Boeings.

The 380 turns flying into an occasion and there's little real evidence its more expensive than Boeing etc. You can always manipulate stats to fit your agenda. Also with airport runway slots becoming scarcer and more expensive the high capacity 380 might become more useful in the future.

But ultimately I think Russia should tell Airbus to go fuck itself. Its not like Russia has Botswanan style aeronautic capabilities.

Finally, I think Moscow in particular could be a good rival to Emirates and Etihad etc as a stopover hub between Asia and N America/Europe. Because of its midway geographic position. With superfast links developed into Central Moscow (or maybe St P0, luxury Russian carriers could be symbols of national pride. And Russia certainly has the space to expand its airports very quickly - unlike many countries.

The US is talking about banning Aeroflot from the US... I think buying anything with any western components is a big mistake for Russia.

Western components might already be mature and capable, if a little expensive, but when there is no choice Russian components can be just as good or better in many ways... ie sanction proof.

Why does France have no An-124?

French Civil Aircrafts Empty Did Concorde ever land in USSR or Russia?

Post  Aristide Sun Apr 28, 2019 11:13 am

I know France and the USSR were not very friendly towards each other in cold war but also not direct opponents.

I know the russian TU-144 did fly one time to Paris to be presented here. But did our Concorde also travel to Russia in that time as well?

I could not find any information for that.
