Russia's Military agreements with S.Ossetia and Abkhazia - Page 2 Empty South Ossetia

Just read this in the news:
    http://rt.com/politics/241929-russia-ossetia-treaty-alliance/

At the very least this is exactly what should be done about Novorussia dammit! It is almost certain the war will flare up again, the novorussians need every possible assistance to liberate ALL Donetsk and Lugansk and preferably extent to achieve a road link to Crimea, and then should be offered same deal as South Ossetia. And same should go for Transnistria too.

F**ck what the US and their NATO puppets say, to hell with them. If the US wants war, they will never win it, the pieces of shit should realize that they will end up as green glass no matter what. Russia will not win it, but THEY could never win it either.

Hard words that still make me uneasy to speak out, i certainly do not want a world nuclear war in my life time, and i'm sure the russian president and government have their policy and certainly i'm not in the position to tell the russian people what to do  but in the face of US imperialism there must be drawn a read line, and they should be made fully aware of what they will be facing from countries like Russia. Russia is not Lybia or Iraq or Afghanistan or Syria. It has never been conquered, and the US pieces of shit should be made aware the russians will never let themselves conquered no matter what. I hope this is how they feel too.

Over 3,500 Russian Soldiers Hold Mountain Drills in South Ossetia

Motorized rifle, tank, artillery, and reconnaissance units practiced completing combat tasks in mountainous conditions.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – More than 3,500 Russian military personnel held exercises in the mountainous terrain of the former Georgian republic of South Ossetia, the Russian Defense Ministry’s Southern Military District’s press service said Friday.

“Controlled tactical and tactical-specialized training was held at a Russian base in mountainous terrain with motorized rifle, tank, artillery, and reconnaissance units, whose main goal was a spot check on the units’ capability to successfully complete combat tasks in the difficult conditions of a mountainous area,” the press service said.

More than 3,500 servicemen and approximately 800 pieces of hardware and equipment were involved in the training exercises.

Earlier this month, head of the Russian General Staff Valery Gerasimov said that Russia was expanding the potential of its military bases in South Ossetia, Abkhazia, as well as in Armenia and Central Asia to help maintain stability in the respective regions.

In March, over 2,000 Russian air defense personnel staged large-scale exercises in the south of the country, as well as at Russian military bases in South Ossetia, Abkhazia and Armenia.

South Ossetia declared independence from Georgia in 1991, while Abkhazia followed suit the following year. Both republics were recognized by Russia in August 2008 following an armed conflict in the region.

In October 2008, Tbilisi adopted a law declaring South Ossetia and Abkhazia to be occupied territories of Georgia.

Putin submits Russia-South Ossetia alliance treaty to parliament for ratification

MOSCOW, May 20. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin submitted a treaty on alliance and integration between Russia and South Ossetia to the national parliament for ratification on Wednesday.

The document was posted on the website of the State Duma, the lower house of Russia’s parliament.

President Putin and his South Ossetian counterpart Leonid Tibilov signed a Treaty on Alliance and Integration in the Kremlin on March 18. The document was signed after talks between the heads of both states.

The Treaty envisages joint defense and security, free movement across the Russian-South Ossetian border, customs integration, cooperation between law-enforcement agencies, simplified procedures for obtaining Russian citizenship and social aspects, including pension payments.

Russia will ensure defense and security of South Ossetia and protect the country’s borders, according to the treaty. The treaty envisages forming a common defense and security space between Russia and South Ossetia, as well as free border crossing between Russia and South Ossetia, taking into account restrictions in place for security concerns.

The document stipulates that Moscow and Tskhinval will conduct a coordinated foreign policy.

The explanatory note says that "the agreement is a core document that confirms the intention of the sides to establish closer cooperation in social, economic and humanitarian spheres, as well as in defense and security step by step." "The document is fully in the interests of the Russian Federation. It is meant to serve as a basis for making separate agreements in the listed spheres," the note clarifies.

The signed treaty has an expiration period of 25 years and is subject to extension for 10 more years.

Abkhazia parliament ratifies agreement with Russia on combined army group

Russia and Abkhazia are to complete the formation of the combined army group by the end of 2018

SUKHUM, December 18. /TASS/. Abkhazia’s parliament has ratified on Friday an agreement on the combined army group of the armed forces of Abkhazia and Russia.

The agreement was signed by the Defense Ministries of Russia and Abkhazia in late November. In accordance with the document, Russia and Abkhazia are to complete the formation of the combined army group by the end of 2018. Of 29 lawmakers who took part in the voting, 26 supported the agreement, one voted against and two abstained.

"The agreement will come into force after it is ratified by the Abkhaz parliament, Russia’s State Duma and Federation Council and after the parties exchange the instruments of ratification," Abkhaz president’s representative in parliament Dmitry Shamba told TASS. According to him, another bilateral agreement - on the procedure of financing the modernization of the Abkhaz armed forces - is due to be signed at an early date.

Both agreements are stipulated by the Treaty on Alliance and Strategic Partnership signed by the presidents of Russia and Abkhazia in Sochi on November 24, 2014.

Russia's Air Defense Forces Undertake S-300 Exercises in Abkhazia

Russian Southern Military District press service said that air defense units deployed at the Russian military base in Abkhazia destroyed a simulated enemy target using S-300 and Osa air defense systems.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Air defense units deployed at the Russian military base in Abkhazia destroyed a simulated enemy target using S-300 (NATO reporting name: SA-10 Grumble) and Osa (SA-8 Gecko) air defense systems, Russian Southern Military District (SMD) press service said Saturday.

The military used a Sukhoi Su-27 fighter aircraft as a mock target.

"Upon the entry of the aircraft into the SMD's area of engagement, the military base's air defense weapons were put on high alert…. Once the target had been identified, unit military personnel simulated the destruction of the target using S-300 and Osa-AKM air defense systems," the SDM's statement reads.

The Russian military base in Abkhazia is based at the former Bombora Soviet military airfield, located close to the city of Gudauta on the Black Sea coast. It was formed following the 2008 five-day war between Georgia and Russia triggered by a Georgian military offensive against the breakaway republics of South Ossetia and Abkhazia. Both regions declared independence from Georgia in the early 1990s. Their statehood was officially recognized by Russia following the conflict.

Abkhazia will not have referendum to join Russia in the short term.

    http://eng.kavkaz-uzel.ru/articles/35867/

It seems that while South Ossetia will follow the Crimean way and the union of Ossetia seems in the horizont, Abkhazia will remain independent de facto like Novorrussia.

South Ossetian military units become part of Russian army

Sergey Shoigu recalled that Russia had done its utmost to support South Ossetia in repelling enemy's aggression

MOSCOW, March 31. /TASS/. Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu and his South Ossetian counterpart Ibragim Gasseyev have signed an interstate agreement on making some South Ossetian military units part of the Russian Armed Forces.

"As before, we consider cooperation between Russia and South Ossetia as one of the stabilizing factors in the Caucasus. We share old-time relations," Shoigu said at the ceremony.

Shoigu recalled that Russia had done its utmost to support South Ossetia in repelling enemy's aggression and was the first to recognize the republic’s independence.

"Before that, starting from 1992 Russia was invariably by South Ossetia’s side, from the every moment a peacekeeping force was moved into South Ossetia. Truce lasted for many years and negotiations continued all the time on establishing peace or achieving a political settlement of relations that had developed due to Georgia’s actions in the previous years," Shoigu said.

"One [agreement] makes some units of South Ossetia’s armed forces subordinate to the Russian Armed Forces. The other concerns the operation of the defense ministries’ courier services," the Russian minister explained.

For his part Gasseyev thanked Russia and its armed forces for assistance to South Ossetia and for maintaining peace and stability.

"Russia has let us live a peaceful life and build our own future," he said.

The Defense Ministry made a decision to re-equip the Russian military base in Abkhazia. According to reports, the base will be armed with infantry fighting vehicles, drones and a new weapon.

In particular, the base will receive upgraded BMP-3 with additional protection, which, along with the BTR-82A already in service, will form the basis of armored vehicles for motorized riflemen, significantly increasing their firepower. In addition, the base units will be re-equipped with AK-12 assault rifles, which will replace the Ak-74. There is no information regarding drones, but earlier the military department announced plans to strengthen the southern borders with reconnaissance and strike UAVs.

As they say "News" citing military sources, the supply of new equipment and weapons will begin next year.

In April last year, the Ministry of Defense announced the replacement of the military base in service in Abkhazia. tanks T-90A for the modernized T-72B3, the equipment has already entered the unit. In addition, the base is armed with the Akatsia self-propelled guns and anti-aircraft systems, including the S-300.

The 7th military base in Abkhazia is considered a mobile reserve capable of operating in the Caucasus and the Black Sea region. According to the state, the base corresponds to a reinforced motorized rifle brigade, it is capable of repelling aggression from Georgia, which does not recognize the independence of Abkhazia.
