Salutations from New Zealand

Hello from NZ!

I only came across this forum recently. I'm hoping to learn a bit more about the ins and outs of Russian hardware, although I certainly know a bit (I hope? No one to correlate with in my country), I'd like to start learning a lot, and this forum seemed a logical place to really get introduced to it.

I'm also an avid supporter of Russia (pro-Russian smileys, too, I must be in the right place!) especially in these trying times, and would like her to become a prominent counterweight to the current US hegemony.

I'll probably be mostly lurking, and when I do comment, hopefully I'll not be making a complete ignoramus of myself.

Well met! I didn't know like minded Kiwis existed. (A half lie, but you get my meaning).

I know what you mean... western media propaganda is very powerful and those Kiwis I know who even care about international politics just seem to generally go with the flow.

I have noticed that a few mates of mine who were avid US strong when we were younger are not so pro US any more and some think Putin is not as bad as he is portrayed in the western media.

Most people I come across either don't know/care about international goings on, (which is a strange phenomenon in itself) or if they do, they simply toe the party line. I had a hard enough time convincing my father that all was not well and good in the Western world, let alone outside of family. It's a lonely road, that's for sure. It was actually my love of Russian aircraft that first got me interested in Russia itself, and things sort of escalated from there.

Wow, that Kysusha fellow is pretty interesting, he would certainly have a few stories to tell I imagine.

I'm only a young fellow in comparison to most of you here, so I'll mainly keep quiet, unless I can answer something that is well and truly within my knowledge. As a rule I'm here to learn, in pleasant, like-minded company.

Unfortunatley Ksyusha haven't been around here almost 2 years, hope he comes back.
