That is likely the plan from the start... collect up the money and move it somewhere safe and then pass the coordinates of the factory on to the Russians with a whisper that brand new stuff is being developed and built there... drones or nukes or something... when they take it out you can send photos to say all the new equipment they bought for developing and producing the engines was destroyed in the explosions and fire afterwards...
