What is the current state of the Russian machine tool industry?

There was a episode of Combat Approved about the machine tool industry some weeks ago.

The limitation is money and not capability. The current sanctions climate is ideal for Russian production to take off. If there is any failure to do so
(there is not), then it is a reflection of serious problems in Russia.

The claims in that video about a lack of ground based missile launchers is amusing... they actually have rather more than all western countries combined, but their number lacked longer ranged missiles because of the INF treaty, but this can now be rectified...

Funny they claim the Onyx is the biggest threat, and it is formidable, but it is Iskander and Kinzhal and Kh-32 which SAM-T and Patriot wont be able to shoot down...

Regarding machine tools the Russian industry has been growing for quite some time because they produce high quality equipment at a fraction of the price of German and other European equipment. Lots of customers even in the west were buying Russian equipment because of the cost difference and lack of quality difference.

The original long range cruise missile... in fact the first ICCM .. Burya that was beaten by the R-7 ICBM.



Designed and built before computer chips were invented.... with new scramjet technology it could be much smaller and lighter and cheaper and faster and longer ranged....

The future also looks bright because scramjets give potential for rocket speeds at jet prices..
