Since T-64 there are no hand loaders, or what do you mean about that?

If the situation was reversed and it was all Soviet and Russian tanks with manual loaders and all western tanks with autoloaders the fact that new Russian tanks used human loaders would be seen as proof of how backward and basic Russian tanks are today.

We gonna prosecute Putin for Chechnya next?

Putin wasn't really given much choice regarding Chechnia... unless you think Chechen excursions into neighbouring countries could be allowed to continue... and are willing to compare Beslan with one of those staged provocations the Georgians set up with their TV crews.

Is there concrete proof he explicitly ordered that?

Nahhh... I am sure all those trials after the South Ossetian conflict where suckarse milli vanili tried and convicted his entire officer corp for shelling Tskinvali proves he didn't order it... nope... wait a minute... what he actually did was spend months flying Israeli UAVs all around South Ossetia looking for artillery targets and marking them on maps no doubt so when the Olympic games started... a traditional period of peace and ceasefires around the world... he launched an attack on a civilian capital city in a province he claimed he wanted to become part of Georgia.

I often walk down the street and shoot people I want to get to know... NOT.

Perhaps he forgot that VDV peacekeeping unit was there? Funny that the Georgian and OSCE forces also there were told to pull out hours before the shelling started but no such warning was given to the VDV.

Apparently those are night exercises of Russian army in relation to Ukraine near their borders at the end of the video shows
a Dark green tank with advanced ERA and at 1:14  you can see some kind of turret ,wondering if that part
of the active protection system Arena...  anyone know?

Thats a T-72B3 with Relikt armor and Arena APS.

Does T72B3 have Arena? Strange, never heard of it.

And I can't recognise an antenna right behind the gunner's shield

Strange place to put an IR search light. Does T72B3 need an IR searchlight at all? It's equipped with thermal sights.

That is not T-72B3 (looks like old gunner's sight), nor does it have Relict or Arena.  I think it is T-72BA.

We know the T-72B3 is deployed at the russian border and here are the improvements:

The most obvious improvement of this tank is easily seen at the first glance. Namely, the new Relikt ERA is fitted instead the ERA 5 and it increased its toughness to the level where it is impervious to modern SABOT rounds from 120 mm guns of the NATO tanks. Also, it got the new fire control system that greatly increases the accuracy as well as the new thermal imaging system. It made it capable to tackle the opponents in any weather condition day or night. Finally, the exhibited units were equipped with Arena-E APS and that increases its survivability on the battlefield to the level where it can stand up to any western counterpart.

Also this picture is identical with the video.

It is a brand new T-72B3, or is it a T-72B now i am uncertain!

And no Arena either obviously. Not sure where you guys are seeing it.

I thought the mast was Arena but perhaps its only a sensor mast, now i agree its probably a T-72B, as pictures is identical with T72´s from the tank biathlon contest and these were T-72B´s

It is not identical based on parts visible alone. The tank in the video does not appear to have the new gunner's sight.

That is a T-72B3 with a mock-up of new Arena-E for a trade show.  T-72B3s being brought into service do not have Arena fitted.  The mast is indeed a wind sensor.

Russia’s SMD Takes Delivery of Upgraded T-72B3 Tanks

The motorized rifle troops of the Southern Military District stationed in Chechnya have received 10 modernized T-72B3 tanks. According to the information available, the vehicles were accompanied by representatives of the manufacturer. The specialists of the Omsk-based plant will familiarize the personnel with operational features and capabilities of the new combat vehicles.

The modernized T-72B3 tanks are equipped with advanced communications systems, fire control systems and a digital ballistic computer reducing the time of calculations. The thermal channel of the main sight provides reliable operation of guidance devices both day and night under any weather and climatic conditions. In addition, the new combat vehicle is capable of firing guided projectiles in motion.

It should be noted that in the near future, the new equipment will be commissioned and assigned to the crews.

Heard any recent news about the T-72B4? IIRC read somewhere that they'll be B3s with panoramic sights and that they will be introduced this year.

It'll be very similar to this, this specific version took part in the 2014 Biathlon.

Russia's Eastern Military District to Get Advanced Battle Tanks

More than 70 modernized T-72B3 tanks will be put into service in the Russian Eastern Military District before the end of this year.

More than 70 sophisticated T-72B3 tanks will be supplied to the Russian Eastern Military District by the year-end, sources said.

The new tanks are due to replace the T-72B1 tanks that are still in service in a number of military units at the Russian Eastern Military District.

"More than 70 modernized T-72B3 tanks will be put into service by the Eastern Military District's motor-rifle units by the end of 2015. The delivery comes within the framework of the 2015 state defense order," the Russian Eastern Military District's press service said.

The T-72B3 tank is a modernized version of the T-72 model, upgraded to the level of the T-90 tank.

The T-72B3 is equipped with new fire control system and new ballistic computer.

Additionally, the tank is fitted with a new gunner sight, with a thermal imager that has day-night and all-weather combat capability.
