    https://aviation21.ru/podpisan-kontrakt-na-izgotovlenie-il-76md-90a-po-kotoromu-aviastar-sp-ne-budet-nesti-ubytki/

New contract for il-(4)76, this time not at a loss for the plant (Aviastar in Ulyanovsk) .

The strange thing is that they are talking of only 14 airplanes to be supplied from 2021 until 2027, basically just 2 airplanes at year....

I thought they automatized the production to allow up to 18 Il-76 to be produced each year...

OH, NO! Ancora non si è capito come funziona?

As always contract are awarded into a set year's framework but that's didn't means NEITHER that the production would be evenly distributed in said years, NOR that it would be just a single contract in the said timeframe.
As for an example the 88 consigned Su-35 are part of two different contracts, one of 48 , already completed, and another one of 50, still ongoing, all making part of the same time framework period.

L'articolo di aviation21 era fuorviante... loro stessi hanno tirato fuori 2 aerei all'anno...

The mistake was made by the aviation21 website as well...

Ok so it means that they will probably sign a new contract before those 14 will be all built...

Nevertheless, I am interested to see at what pace they will be able to build those aircrafts...

The same factory will also build the new Il-78M-90A tankers (which can be converted into a freighter) and the airframes for the A-100.

The way they do the contracts gives them flexibility... with Coronovirus they might start slow, but as problems and issues get solved they might speed up a little or a lot and depending on how it goes will determine what other contracts are signed and when.

They might get a huge export order for instance... and they will make rather more profit from export orders than they do for domestic military sales...

    Now that's an angry butt

Actually I think it looks owl shaped... and rather cool... no guns but clearly optical ports for sensors... presumably part of the DIRCMS system...

So the second best seat in the house is no longer available in latest version?

Oh well, at least they still have the royal suite in the front... Smile
