What message was he trying to send?
Was it "why don't you win all the medals at this olympics games..."
There is no place for politics in sport... and for the same reason there should not be blanket bans of countries in sport either... because if it was decided fairly the US and UK and France and Israel (and a few more) would never play anyone ever again at any sport.
Cutting ties is easy and you can pretend it makes a difference but really cutting communication just makes sure nothing changes... and potentially for things to get worse.
It is just childish really... we are not going to play with you because we don't like what you did.... that really is not a game any western country should be playing.
