A detonation of any type in an underground structure is magnified several times because the shockwave hits the walls supported by the ground and reflect back into the cavity so everything inside the cavity would be turned to dust...

The range of these guns is supposed to be about 60km or so, which is actually less than the 70km range of the new 152mm guns they are working on... so the idea of adding a new calibre really does not make a lot of sense.
Especially if you can put a 152mm shell in a sabot and load it into a 203mm gun and probably get enormous range potential with the 203mm level of propellant with a shell 1/3rd the weight of the normal 203mm round.

If the US wishes to provoke Russia into a war in the next 3 weeks then it will succeed. Russia will have to retaliate and not against the Ukraine, but those pulling their strings, it's the only way to stop the motion of events.

Well I think he will have to as everyone can see that hitting the Ukraine does nothing, and that the Ukraine itself is but a puppet on strings.
If Putins attacks were doing nothing there would be a stalemate on the front line and there would be no movement in either direction.
Destroying the Ukraine appears to be part of the western plan... if they were smarter they would have noticed this quite some time ago... they might never realise of course... but the job at hand is to defeat Kiev and that is exactly what Russia is doing.
If Russian air defenses were able to ensure security then that would be one thing, but we see that targets can always be chosen that they don't cover effectively.
Russian air defences are too strong for them to hit what they want to hit and now they resort to other targets... that in itself is a victory.

When you are applying pressure to keep the pressure up you need to keep your hold, not let it go and only reapply once and a while

Putin isn't going to strike at a NATO state, and I understand why he won't, the risk is far to high, its exactly why a NATO state will never attack Russia from its own turf, the risk is way too high.
He wasn't going to do all sorts of things... this war would never happen, because putin is too weak to start a war... there is no way he would launch an IRBM at a target in Europe...
Well he has been warning about expanding the conflict beyond the Ukraine... the west has been ignoring him... eventually he will decide that this is his best option moving forward... then what will the west say? Who cares?
When someone wants to kill you and they send hitman after hitman after you, do you keep killing the hitmen that come after you in the hope that eventually the guy ordering hits runs out of them or runs out of money?
When winter comes you cut off his heating and you seize western assets in Russia and you do a few other things... all at once for better effect.

I would say two places. Putin will surrender. Putin will attack. The former does not make sense because if he was going to surrender he could have done that three years ago and just let Kiev take back its troubled provinces.
Just do not be surprised if Trump continues to support Ukraine even more.

Trump could send 12 super carriers to Europe and say to Kiev... they are all yours... Kiev couldn't man them and operate them and they would make no difference except remove 30,000 men from the Orc front line to deal with them.
Trump will try to finish this war, asap. This would start his presidency with a bang and he would fulfill his campaign promises.
Short of handing Kiev nukes, his only option to finish this war quick is to cut all support and remove all US citizens from the country and to ban all US companies and military organisations from working with the Ukraine.
Proposed terms of the agreement will not be easy on Russia.
Putin has said no trading of territory, or should I say no giving up Russian territory.
And HATO or EU troops on Ukrainan soil is also a no go.
If he gives something to Russia without getting anything in return, he will come under pressure at home. Even from Republicans. Also, it is not his style. He can't claim win or big success just by stopping.
When he puts on the big man pants he can start the ball rolling by saying that western sanctions against Russia are illegal under international law because they were not sanctioned by the UNSC and that he can roll them all back... that is no concession because they should never have been imposed in the first place. That could be a precondition to talks... but of course no successful talks are possible because the US is evil and so is the EU and they are not going to agree to anything that could be considered reasonable.

You are correct FP... the west thinks attacking targets in Russia via their Kiev proxy is just fine but that Russia can't attack them because they say they are not involved.
But this ignores that Putin has spelled out repeatedly that long range attacks on Russia requires the cooperation and action of HATO countries which makes HATO a party to the war... so why would the west think targets in the west are not legitimate targets for the Russians?
Russia has also amended its rules on nuclear weapon use to allow the use against an enemy using a proxy country to hide behind in attacking Russia... again... why does the west think that does not apply to them?

Russia is rolling the Orc forces backwards... it is pretty clear the targets they did hit had an effect because the Ukraine military is a dead man walking.
There will likely still be other targets they have not decided are worth hitting yet that might be hit if the west continues to escalate... that is just the nature of things.
