Syria has Idlib which collected the terrorists. Now these terrorists are causing serious problems. Russia cannot follow this model
with Galicia (and western Ukria). It needs to be controlled.

Correct! No Idleb 2.0 for Russia! No proxy country from which the terrorists come back massively strengthened! There is no rest of Ukraine left. No matter what guarantees are given, they are always smoke and mirrors! Always! The West will break this!

Russian military operation in Ukraine #63 - Page 18 Empty Re: Russian military operation in Ukraine #63

Post  Arrow Thu Dec 05, 2024 10:44 pm

"Today, the Russian Defense Ministry officially confirmed the fact that on November 27, six days after the Oreshnik missile struck an industrial facility in Dnepropetrovsk, Chief of the Russian General Staff Valery Gerasimov spoke on the phone with his American counterpart, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces Charles Brown. The conversation was initiated by the Russian side.

According to the defense ministry, during the conversation, Gerasimov informed the US Armed Forces representative about the upcoming exercises of the Russian Navy and Aerospace Forces in the eastern Mediterranean, which will include practical shooting and the launch of high-precision missiles.

As indicated by the Defense Ministry, information about the shooting was passed on to the American side to prevent potential incidents with American ships and NATO forces located near the exercise area.

At the same time, Western media outlets report that one of the main topics of discussion between the military leaders was a new type of Russian weapon — the Oreshnik missile.

KP observers note that after the talks between Gerasimov and Brown, by an amazing coincidence, the Ukrainian Armed Forces stopped missile attacks using NATO military arsenal.

“Since then, there has not been a single ATACMS strike on Russia. Have the White House and the Pentagon paused to think? Have they heeded Gerasimov’s threatening warning? Are they calculating where else the Russian Oreshniks (and not only them!) might fly, if everyone knows that the ATACMS missiles are not launched by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but, strictly speaking, by the Americans themselves,” the publication notes."

And yet Oreshnik has magical power. For over a week, not a single shelling of Russian territory from Western weapons. Very Happy

I will show you something that is both touching and teaching.

This is a song by some unknown to me Ukrainian artist.
What is interesting here, is the fact that she is using a 1983 Polish song by Jacek Kaczmarczyk, titled "Our class".
Jacek was singing about a country that was under a wartime rule - people were fleeing it.
He songs about his mates in his class, dispersed all over the planet - because of the sorrow perspectives.

The interesting part is, that Polish propaganda tries to present that as a second to the Ukrainan anthem - while it is not.

It can be presented likewise only to the people who does not understand Ukrainian.

She sings a sorrow song of a lost nation, fighting for survival.
    About people hiding forceful conscripts.
About people who have lost their lives.

In general - the real meaning of the song is somehow 180 deg different to what it was presented to be ...

And they are doing that, because the audience won't understand it in original ...
    Shocking scary...

Edit : this is the original :

Those 35 Ukrainian sailors are probably praying to every God they know of that the Turks keep their warship ban up.

Ukraine will receive additional funding for the development of air defense and cyber defense in the amount of 22 million euros from the Netherlands.

At a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council , which took place in Brussels on December 3-4, Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp announced the allocation of additional funds to strengthen Ukraine's air defense and its resilience to cyber threats.

According to the Dutch Ministry of Defense, the total amount of military aid provided to Ukraine has already reached €3.76 billion , including the supply of F-16 fighters.

Also in the Netherlands, 35 Ukrainian sailors completed their training on the Alkmaar-class minesweeper http://Hr.Ms. Makkum (M857), which we recently wrote about. The training was considered intensive, since the ship sailed with a double crew for 2 months. The two minesweepers, along with the Belgian and British ships, the MBE, as well as two corvettes under construction in Turkey, will form the backbone of Ukraine's naval potential if they gain access to the Black Sea.

    Two Majors

Dutch soldiers proudly standing on parade in front of their well cared for system maybe without thinking that if it gets to Ukraine it is going to end up as scrap.

In some ways I think Lavrov expressed things better than Putin.
Putin gets very legalistic and plays down the atrocities committed against Russians/"Ukrainian Russians" in the Ukraine. Putin also downplays the fact so much of the Russian world was stolen by Western evil.

Lavrov explains it in a way that SHOULD resonate with any reasonable Western.

I still don't think he completely explains it.
He should explain how NATO leaves countries in rubble, preys on them. And how all of this can be confirmed via Western MSM if people bother to read the small print.

Russian public relations could be better sadly.
I know former disbelievers who saw the light when I gave them a single Western MSM article.
Most clowns would need a lot of articles and some would never see the light. But even so, Russia should have tried harder.

For instance, a single page on the Kremlin website is not enough. It should be multiple articles with multiple academic style links to Western, neutral and other publications.

The facts overwhelmingly favour Russia in being justified to smash the Banderites AND GAYTO.

EU-tards are special retards. They think that if they can entice the Americans into Ukraine, then Russia will be routed. With what army?
The US has a navy and an air force. It's land fighting ability is marginal. Currently the US has 1.5 million troops in total. Russia has nearly
2 million. It has raised an additional 600,000 for Ukraine that were not active in early 2022. It had around 1.4 million at that time.

But the 2 million can expand to 3 million and more if NATzO launches a war against Russia. Russia has no reason to limit its forces for such a
    war.

    Of course they don't
The most armored armies in NATO are the US, Turks, Greeks and Poles.
    Check out yourself :

    Those numbers are reliable.

It has raised an additional 600,000 for Ukraine that were not active in early 2022. It had around 1.4 million at that time.

Much less than that. They had about 1mln active personnel plus about 800k nonmilitary employees.
They have raised in military personnel up to 1.5mln now, with the bulk of the increase in land forces - they have doubled it.

    I have an observation.
In the last days, big medial figures that can be clearly linked to Trump, made multiple entries showing the Russian perspective to the conflict.

We are talking not only about the second visit t o Russia by Tucker, who was considered as a candidate for Trump's vice president at some point ...
An interview with Lavrov, made in English, will again push Russian perspective in front of the eyes of millions of US citizens.

Now, take a look here :

He can pretend to be "in the middle", but his body language clearly shows that he considers Russian rights as legitimate ...

My guess is that we are facing a campaign targeting American viewers, and English speaking ones in general.
Its goal is to de-demonize Russia after years of Democrat driven propaganda.
I suppose that Trump is getting ready for a new beginning - and those are his messengers.

The Russian army was officially over 1.2 million at the start of 2022.   I don't know where the 1 million or less is coming from.   Given the propensity
of Russia to low-ball critical statistics (GDP growth, etc.) over the last 20 years, I have good reason to believe that the 1.2 million was a
deliberate underestimate.   Since war with NATzO was highly likely in the wake of 2014, it makes no sense for Russia to skimp on force numbers.
It can afford an army larger than the USA because its military prices are not a racket.

I guess you are mixing the numbers.
The size of the armed forces is being set by the presidential decrees.

In general, after 080808 war, under Serdyukov reform, the size of active duty personnel was to be cut, not expanded, below 1mln number.
On March 5th 2010, Medvedyev announced a mission accomplished, calling "1 mln soldiers" number.
Long story short, nothing changed after - if not  to mention multiple information raised in a different Russkie eating sources of how they fail to set the desired number even at that level. In some of the sources, they were calling a 850k active personnel due to problems with contract and professional soldiers.
The number set in Putins decree of July 2016 puts the number of active personnel at 1.0 mln, with 1.885 mln of the whole size.
A decree of July 2017 has raised the number to 1.013 mln soldiers and 1.903 of all.
You can check by yourself :
    http://static.kremlin.ru/media/acts/files/0001201711170026.pdf
This situation has not changed much, unless we would consider as valid the European data about understaffing which led to 900k active personnel in total in EU Parliament official documents of March 2021.

On the contrary, the latest Putin decree called for 1.5mln active soldiers and 2.3 mln total force.

Well I served myself during the Serdyukov/Medvedev period

What they were really doing is replacing certain formerly military professions with civilians in those roles. So civilian cooks instead of military cooks. Civilian electricians instead of military electricians. And so on.

In addition they had lowered the conscription period from 2 years to 1.5 years, and then to 1 year, and that naturally shaved off some 250k or so servicemen by itself.

There were some combat units 'optimizations' too of course. Divisions being reformed into brigades and so on.

Contingent of course, on Russia 'turning away' from China and towards the West. In their understanding of the term - which effectively means that Russia should cease to become a fully sovereign state and should make its foreign policy dependent on Washington's approval.

But Biden made the same offer even before the war, during his Geneva summits with Putin, or during their teleconferences, and was rejected. So then why would Russia agree to Trump's offer now?
