So far all I have been able to find on historical Russian industrial machine production is about their contribution to the development of the modern metal lathe by Nartov who made a great many lathes that were ahead of their time including ones for the manufacture of arms and artillery though I have only ever seen pictures of his lathes that were meant for ornamental turning.
