It may've already happened.
For Russia it's not a loss, as all of them r older worn out models past their time, otherwise she would buy them out before any1 else.

They still operate the same aircraft with the same radar and same fire control computer. That would make at least R-33 useless against US aircarft. Unless they operate another model in the kazakh forces which I doubt since they come from soviet stocks.
