Some of the perpetrators from the earlier video of murder and torture of Russian POWs have supposedly been identified , appears the details of their families have been published as well.

It's not all about propaganda, Atlasclub.
If the United States was on the border with China, China would grind them to pieces.
I think that neither the West nor Russia are as well organized as China. You have an example of the Covid-19 and how quickly the Chinese solved that problem. What I think about the Western policy of intimidation, belittling, blackmail, hypocrisy, I have already written. Everyone in the world knows that the West is an empire of lies, and they know that in the West itself. The whole "Western civilization" and the whole "free world" (sounds very hypocritical and quite fascist), together with Russia and the former USSR states, have fewer inhabitants than the People's Republic of China.

I honestly think that the United States and Russia have an advantage over China only in terms of submarines, nuclear arsenal, and that's about it.
I think we will hear more and more about China in the coming period. To me, the Chinese act like biological robots, humans, yes, but organized like robots. India can NEVER be like China. The yellow race is different, it is fanatical and consistent in achieving its goals. The Indians seem pliable to me and I see that it is possible to manipulate them. With China? No way! Everyone around World War II is talking about "powerful" Germans, even though Japan was NOT defeated in the conventional war.
Everyone around this conflict in Ukraine writes that the United States will emerge as the biggest winner, but I think it will be China.
China is becoming the No. 1 superpower rapidly. I can't even imagine what force the Chinese Army would represent on the ground. And the West? The West has redirected its military force to aviation and precision-guided missiles of all kinds. It's all OK, but that's not how the war is won. Where the military boot does not pass, the war is not won.

The reason why the UK opposed the UNSC hearings on the Butcha false flag affair is that it is the MI6 who's behind it with the same tactics used by the White Helmets in Syria.

Well, how many dead are there from Covid-19 in the US or in the West and in Russia, and how many in China?

What a good post ! Still no likes from members here ? I wonder why ? Still my personal idea about detecting anti-Tank rounds by Radar , is that it will be difficult in battlefield conditions , where these fly low to ground and are only a few seconds from impact , no time to intercept them ? Agree totally with using artillery , instead of air- force , in areas that still have AD . Saving the planes and pilots !

I wrote previously about the number of concessions needed by Ukraine side to satisfy Russia , to be so many as to be totally undeliverable by present Ukraine regime ! Therefore " negotiations " seem pointless at this stage . The only useful function for these talks , is to arrange for the Nazis to deliver the flag of Ukraine at the feet of Russian Generals ! But Russia can do this symbolic act , itself , without talking with the Nazi scum , and offering a validatory platform to them .

About western propaganda regarding " civilian massacres ," the anti-dote for this , is to arrange for a court martial of captured Nazi criminals , and public hanging and with a swastika symbol , on top of the gallows . No shame , but pride in exterminating such . A historic lesson for Europe and Ukraine ! One that like the defeated Germans , during WWII , will carry a social shame until today , 70 years later .

DNR are moving at snails pace but wasn't the reported number of Wehrmacht troops on the Donbas front around 60,000? Thats a pretty large and well dug in nut to crack.
Also I have seen plenty of videos of artillery hitting them, who's to say they are not Russian?
Russian Su-25s and helos are providing CAS as well.

However, I am disappointed with the lack of good quality equipment on a number of Donbas militia, even front line troops, they seem to be using old helmets, worn out uniforms, no body armour… surely Russia can do a better job to supply them with some decent gear.
They also need some better tanks. Some of the ones I have seen are falling apart, literally. The pretence of this being an internal Ukrainian problem has long passed, Donbas troops should be regarded as good as Russian by now and get the stuff they need to do the job

Russian special military operation in Ukraine #10 - Page 7 Empty Re: Russian special military operation in Ukraine #10

Post  GarryB Tue Apr 05, 2022 11:55 am

Ukraine lost several millions of its inhabitants after 2014, and millions of them left for Russia.
That was a pro-Russian population who did not accept the coup.
That alone drained the sentiments at a significant level because people were voting with their choices.
If one looks at the materials made on the ground, the area unconquered in the south and east presents a very old population. Most of the people taken out of shelters are pensioners, and old people. The proportion is really weird there, considering any normal society. That is because the younger population left. That is today's reality for Ukraine. It is a socially drained country, where the population that left hardly represents the proRussian sentiments that were wide&common 8 years ago.

I appreciate what you are trying to say, but realistically the last election in the Ukraine it was the lets get friendlier with Russia and lets sort out the Donbass and Lugansk situation peacefully guy that won the election... not the we are fighting Russians in the separatist areas lets fight all of Russia now Poro candyman.

Maybe you can start by studying all the press briefs that Russia gave while trying to sell the Su 35. Being able to evade radar-guided surface-to-air missile like the BUK 1 was one of the selling point.

Even the oldest BUK model has an optical guided mode with radar command guidance and manual optical tracking for use when enemy jamming is intense.

Not as easy to use and not as effective as all weather radar guidance and much shorter effective range because you need to see the target but a useful backup system.

But hardly see an option to take a 2.8mln city with 200k troops.

When the bulk of their army is destroyed or surrendered in the south and east I would expect those pissed off at nazi and western rule might rise up and take things into their own hands.... Russia is not just doing this to defend itself, they are doing this for their neighbours too.

Who in all fairness have suffered more at the hands of the nazis than the actual Russian population has.

Perhaps some of those that left might want to go back and create a better place.

So far Ukraine rose each time to challenge and basically forced Russia to change tactics and drop goals.

You are not understanding. The plan from the start was to encircle the bulk of the Orcs in the Donbass region where they were forward deployed to invade the Donbass. Part of the force was used to encircle those forces while other forces spread along the south towards Odessa and another force came down from the north to threaten Kiev to keep the rest of the Ukrainian army where it was. Over the next few weeks they have destroyed ammo and fuel dumps and also tank parks and factories to make and repair armour and equipment.

They then reached a stage where the troops near Kiev were no longer needed because the Ukrainian army no longer has armour or fuel or ammo so it is retasked with the job of dealing with the rather large group of Ukrainian forces on the Donbass front... any Ukrainian forces moving to relieve them will be hit with air power and artillery.

    Goals have been achieved.

    New goals set.

thus buying time for rest of Ukraine to regroup and resupply,

Good... regrouped and moving means they can be killed in the open instead of being in cities and having to be dislodged... mobile groups are much easier to find and deal with when you have air control.

In short Russia is stuck in huge conflict in which it lost control, I personally believe that Russia will be much weaker state once this is over. For West this is great opportunity to contain Russia for next 20-40 years.

All Russian ties with the west are to be minimalised, the wests capacity to limit or contain Russia is over.

Kremlin currently considering to place the large majority of unfriendly countries into a list of so-called "US protectorates", most of their diplomatic staff to be expelled from #Russia, the Russian govt will talk only with the #US about them to bypass useless intermediaries

Hahaha... makes sense.... when you visit a farm you don't talk to the welcome mat.

America has this ridiculous cult of superiority about their weapon systems, that none can be shot down or taken out or whatever.

They do... but it is also a fanboy thing too. Any tank gets defeated or blown up and all of a sudden it is sht.

Ignoring the fact that it might have been critical in that battle and destroyed large numbers of enemy and protected lots of friendly forces and was hit with 50 rockets before a lucky hit got the engine or something and it burnt out... if you have ever played War Thunder you will know that from the side and rear... hull and turret... all vehicles are vulnerable to a wide range of weapons that don't need to be super weapons either.

Kiev did manage to maintain cohesion, and the loyalty of almost every part of its territory

It kept cohesion through fear.... murdering anyone who did not obey... those remaining are likely just waiting for a chance to shoot their leader in the back of the head so they can surrender and end this war for themselves.

Maybe Moscow will take some sort of action against the West. A lot of Russian soldiers are dead because of this evil Anglo-Saxon alliance.

They have been nice with the west because they were expecting partnerships and cooperation, but now... it is clear they want Russians dead and Russia split up like Yugoslavia or now the Ukraine...

But that leaves the question as to where the dead bodies came from. If they were really dead.

Seems pretty proven that it wasn't the Russian forces who did this, so either not dead at all or killed by nazis, so either an attempt at a false flag to get international sympathy, or a warcrime they committed on their own people.

Changes nothing... job remains the same...

You have deads everywhere unfortunately. Bringing 10 dead and dressing them as civilians is a matter of 2 hours.

Equally when you return to a captured village there are often scores to settle... who helped the enemy and how did you not attack them day and night while they were here...

They were all fresh it seemed. If the Russian military withdrew by agreement and Ukrainian forces entered, then why would there be newly dead.

There were likely a lot of people who were not hostile to the Russians... and they would need to be punished so others would see that if the Russians come back they are not to cooperate with them.

Besides... they are nazis... they don't need rational reasons to kill people.

I wish this wasn't the case, Russia should be punishing these bastards, Russian POWs are getting murdered for crying out loud and Russia is treating these Ukronazis with kid's gloves smh...

These guys are just prisoners... if you or they find any evidence that any of these guys had any part in torturing or murdering prisoners or civilians then they will be properly prosecuted, but they will all be treated like prisoners.

What pisses me off is that NATO article saying they should interfere against an "inferior opponent"

They are trying to get permission to join the war and they would hardly agree to that if they thought it was a peer opponent...

Much like the foreign fighters duped into going there and finding it is not what they were expecting at all.

It gives ammunition to many POS that continue to spread the lie that somehow Russia is inferior to NATO

An enemy that underestimates you is easier to kill.

I only doubt one thing, only that Victory Day parade will be held this year...Unless the Russians crush them this month ...
There are 34 days left until May 9, including today.

Might have a reduced parade to celebrate destroying nazism in Europe yet again... not enough time for a full parade to practise.

Sorry Garry, welcome to the War itself showing its true forms on your Forum.

Is there any info on how counterbattery radars are employed by the russians? Why don't columns have access to counterbattery radars?

What would a column do with such information?

Hey guys... there is 400 grad rockets incoming... we have 10 seconds before impact... what do you do?

Conversely 80km away a Smerch battery gets warning of an enemy Grad unit showering rockets on a nearby convoy... the grad battery is located the coordinates sent to the Smerch launchers who align and elevate and fire rockets to turn the field the grad battery was located in into ash.

Or marauding helicopters or drones are directed to the location of the grads and they engage them...

Also can NLAW and javelin ambushes be detected using ground based surveillance radar like the ones mounted on the BRM-1? I heard these radars are so sensitive that they can detects AK rifles from 2km.

They possibly could but in the case of NLAW that would be like detecting an RPG launch... what do you honestly expect them to be able to do in the 3-5 seconds between launch and impact?

Javelins fly higher and are slower, but being ready 24/7 to react in an instant to a rocket launch is not humanly possible... APS systems would help... driving erractically would too.

Why aren't russians using tactics where tanks and IFVS stay 3-7km behind russian troops advancing on urban settlements, s they're out of range of javelins, NLAWs and even stugnas. The russian 125mm HE FRAG shell has a range of 12+km and the 100mm shell on the BMP-3 has a range of 10+km. Theres also thermobaric kornet.

    What tactics are they using?

Russian 125mm HE Frag ammo has a range of 12km, but it wont be that accurate at that range.

The 100mm guns on the BMP-3 has a range of 7km.

If your armour is miles back then those anti armour weapons will just be fired at your infantry.

Also what prevents russians from obliterating every single bunker of the nation alists in Avdeevka and Gorlovka? AFAIK these defensive lines are away from civilians, so they can easily be destroyed by artillery. Why cant russia support DNR and LNR troops with its artillery? SO far DNR and LNR are advancing at a snail's pace because they lack much fire support.

We have seen 203mm guns and other heavy weapons being brought up, I rather suspect the grinding of the Cauldrons will be going on now.

KVS is an OK character and he is not a coward (like some others), it seems to me, but I don't like such links either. It is not clear to me and I wrote that a couple of weeks ago, that is, how can someone put a "like" under such a link. Do you like seeing Russian soldiers brutally killed? It's not clear to me. It's not KVS's fault, I'm surprised by those who put "like".

I like that the truth is revealed... I don't even watch the videos myself, I am more interested in the equipment and weapons and would be happy if they were never used in war... I am sure Putin would agree but he was given no choice.

It is important for this information to be known about when the west talks of Russian atrocities that always turn out to be faked or actually Ukrainian atrocities.

Reminds us that the deaths of Russian soldiers is unwanted but necessary if we see what sort of animals they are hunting and rounding up.

Vidoes like these are mostly cheered on by Banderistanis and Western scum alike, they will do nothing to change the minds of the brainwashed hypocrites who think US bombs send flowers and Russians rape babies.

The elite, the ones calling the shots, very true... but your average western sheep that only gets information from western media will be as upset as any normal human being would... it will help to undo some of the brain washing.

Taking out Zelensky merely creates a martyr. Make a fool out of him, discredit him, and then try him for war crimes.

A martyr that wont inspire the intelligent to his cause, just more idiots... the sort you want to kill too.

To be clear the average grunt in the orc army should be allowed to surrender and should be treated with respect.

If at all possible dedicated nazis should be killed in combat and not taken prisoner most of the time, but if they are they should also be treated with respect and then put on trial for their crimes and suitably punished.

No longer part of Europe perhaps a tiny part of Chechnia could adopt Sharia law just for the trials, and these guys can be sent there for trial and the sentences could reflect the crime...

The problem will be after destroying the VSU in donetsk, will medinsky and peskov shriek for more negotiations?

They can talk all they want.

With Blinkin talking about being flexible with sanctions to allow Zelensky to negotiate an agreement suggests the Americans are getting scared as the Russians destroy the Ukrainian Army... what will they do next... seems they don't want this to go on for too long...

That the banderite scum are evil is a tautology. What do you expect them to do, treat prisoners humanely?
And a shark not to eat you? Yet if you swim in shark-infested waters without due precautions, whose fault is it?

    It is obviously your fault.

The surrender of the 503rd is excellent, but it shows that they will fight until they cannot

It actually shows they wont fight to the death.

You win by not doing things in their interests. It requires discipline. But the myth of the Russian soldier, as a person who will never stoop to Nazi methods of war - is strong enough here.

The point is that real professional armies don't stoop to that sort of thing because it makes the enemy harder and less likely to surrender in the first place, and more focussed on winning so they can put you on trial...

Everyone around this conflict in Ukraine writes that the United States will emerge as the biggest winner,

They promised to help Afghanistan... the women and children and after 20 years they leave... they run away... and they seize Afghanistans financial reserves stored in the west... not only do they not save the Afghan people.... they rob them too.

Now it is Kievs turn, and they will send weapons and loans but no other support except verbal... Tiblisi knows all about this...

The US has just forced most of the western world to buy energy from Russia in rubles.... it is breaking its own currency... what have they won except proving to the EU that the EU needs Russian energy, so why does it do as the US tells it to?

What a good post ! Still no likes from members here ? I wonder why ?

Modern artillery is mobile and accurate and longer and longer ranged all the time.

The very idea that every military unit or support unit could carry around artillery radar and defend itself from enemy ambush or attack is ridiculous.

A battery of Grad vehicles might be 12 vehicles... if you split them up and located them in 12 different places in 12 different buildings, when you spot an enemy convoy nearby you can make quick calculations for all of your 12 vehicles... order them to drive out clear of the buildings set their angle and elevation and then order them all to fire at once, then put a tarp over the rocket tubes and drive away.

The first thing you will know you are under attack will be fire and smoke from the rocket launchers but that wont be visible to every convoy... radar will pick up the rockets but not in time to scatter the convoy... those rockets are going to cover an area bigger than the convoy so even if you warned them when the rockets are launched there is not a huge amount they could do about it.

Of course a counter battery radar somewhere will detect teh rockets and locate the artillery vehicles, whether they are grads or 122mm or 152mm gun vehicles and drone and helicopters can try and hunt them down... they might get some of them but they will scatter like cockroaches when the light comes on.

Yes, replace those 23mm cannon barrels used with blank rounds to fire 23mm cannon shell projectiles with 40mm underbarrel grenade launchers... and modern equipment and weapons.

These countermeasures will find their way in both MBTs, IFVs as well as helicopters and fighter aircraft.

Similarly, Kremlin might also invest in the development of anti EW countermeasures for fixed wing and rotary wing platforms.

The Su 35 was probably shot down after it was attacked with EW first and subsequently a few missiles were fired at it.

The only things they lackvis the use of armed drones like Orion in huge quantity and APS system on IFV, BTR and Tanks.

And maybe bring back toshka in service with new fuel to reach 250km range because it is a very good system to hunt anything. Iskander may be too much for many targets.

Rest is good. Trying tp make everything invincible is a loss of time. They need to improve coordination and tactics to have less losses.

As for the negotiation topic... why should Zelensky negotiate anything?

He knows Putin wants him to legitimize this operation and the land grabs in a "peace deal". He also knows due to this Putin and cadre aren't serious about removing him from power and putting a bullet in his head. Moreover in the event that Putin and cadre were to change their minds, they'll probably get a tip from the many moles leaking to the US/UK in the FSB, and get evacuated to form a government in exile. What Zelesnky does know is that if he doesn't do what the U.S/UK tells him and expects him to do he's as good as dead, at the very least, his ill-gotten millions all get confiscated which is reason #1 why he got into this job.

Who scares him the most? Putin or the US/UK? Easy choice there. And that tells A LOT. And he's not alone, all the Ukranian elite are now more or less trapped like this.

So he does what anyone with half a brain should do. Resist, and say fvck no to Russia and play the Russians like a fiddle, as he should.

Wasn't that long ago Putin was saying to the effect that there was no point in meeting or talking to Zelensky and crew but rather to deal with the masters themselves directly...

So what's all the negotiation talk about anyway? Now all of the sudden any of that calculation changed? Please...

Anyone at this point can see through it....

Only facts on the ground matter. Just look at Syria, and how the U.S established itself on a third of its territory to play the spoiler when Russia half assed it. You either occupy and commit or GTFO (with all its consequences). It's that simple. That is to say if you think a half assed, quick go-in go-out campaign will net you the result, you better hope you had a PLAN B/C/D. Everyone watched the Georgia campaign extremely closely, and studied it, Russia's enemies most of all. They've positioned themselves to make it infinitely more difficult to get away with one just like it once again. It shows.

Western Rainbow coalition trying to connect the fake narrative "Don't say Gay" law to Russia absolutely WILL NOT speak on this...
