Apparently SAA fled Hama.
How did 15K terrorists accomplish all this so fast?
Russia has a lot to learn from this and apply same tactics against Ukraine. These terrorists gained 1 and half provinces in days/week. Shit, if Russia applied same thing, they would be at Odessa already.
Well no because the Ukrainians actually dig in and occupy civilian buildings and build defenses
They also don't care about casualties
They're also being armed by all of NATO
The SAA seems to not have heard about defenses or bothered building anything in the years since Aleppo was liberated and fighting died down. And they seem to be very casualty averse, as evidenced by their abandonment of Hama. I fail to understand their logic about not wanting to subject civilians to urban fighting by attempting to defend the city. It's not like HTS will act likewise when it's the turn of the Syrian army to retake the city; they will dig in and the civilians won't be spared urban fighting in any case.
Russia can afford such tactics in Kharkov and Kherson as it wasn't fighting on friendly territory anyway. They can come and go. Syria really cannot. They have abandoned 3 million of their own citizens over the past week by losing these cities. And they don't have the strategic depth to keep doing that. The pace that they are losing territory is going to kill morale if it hasn't already.
What I can tell you guys is Telegram channel's that are Russian do not like criticism. I've been banned by 3 of them. Clearly Russia is fucked on multiple fronts and if you even show concern, they consider it trolling and you get banned.
They are spineless.
I can think of lots of sides which are fucked but none of them is Russia. Russia is doing just fine.
As for Syria, they can't be bothered to defend themselves. Ideally Russia should sign a separate peace with Erdogan and give him enough of what he wants, in return for a peace process on Syria and effectively disassociating with the ongoing CIA adventure there on overthrowing Assad and cutting off Iran and so on.
But if Erdogan's not going to go for that then Russia will have to get involved and so will Iran, and storm Hama, Aleppo and Idlib themselves. And Turkey must be considered as the rest of NATO, an enemy and one intent on opening a 2nd front against Russia.
