Blocked.  Life is just too short to bother with idiots and fools. Razz

How many of then actually have experience vs being a pencil pusher in the army?

One thing I learned, with having an uncle in the navy and my father being in the AD in radar (tech), most of the big mouths tend to have done nothing at all in the military and talk big to make themselves feel better. F16.net is just a hive of trolls, morons and wannabes.

In some respects I agree, but another school of thought is that serial pests need to be stomped on and dismissed with contempt, else they hang around and pollute public spaces with their endless bullshit.  I don't come to RDF to listen to idiots spewing US/EU/NATO establishment talking points or engaging in thinly disguised anti-Russian racist hate-puke.  I'd prefer that he pulls up his stumps and goes somewhere where his mental illness will be appreciated.

It’s kinda like the retards that think that being goodlooking as a man isn’t the most important thing when it comes to getting women when it is. Stealth is the most important thing in air to air combat. Most planes are shot down by planes that they didn’t detect. It’s absolutely ridiculous thing seeing people on this forum arguing the opposite.

In my personal experience of talking to all sorts of people over a number of decades, being in the military makes you an expert on nothing other than being in that particular military.

It seems when you are in the military... especially western militaries, they don't seem to bother training troops to respect their enemies at all let alone learn about their equipment and weapons... it is a type of ignorance that is the worst kind because it is essentially someone thinking they know and on reflection actually should have some idea but in actual fact have coffee table magazine level knowledge or worse.

I am no expert either and my brother was in both the New Zealand Army and the Air Force... he knows very little about Russian or Soviet military equipment... because he doesn't care about it... he is not interested... it was never part of his job to know and so he doesn't.

Of course he does not pretend to be an expert on military equipment either.

Most of my cold war knowledge was filtered through the western experts that delivered it and those thinking spin is new... it is not... those complaining about the new Doctor Who being a woman and being preachy.... Doctor Who has always been preachy... even the Cosby show and 8 is enough and Family ties, they were all telling us how to think... trying to set our moral compass to whatever setting was being set at the time.

Anybody can lie and of course anybody can be wrong... some myths are deep rooted and are mixed in with belief in what you are doing is right and everyone else is wrong, so for some people accepting Russia as an equal is the equivalent of disrespecting all the western patriots who have been calling them the enemy for the longest time.

Feeding trolls is not good, but ignoring them and allowing them to repeat lies that have been proven wrong 1,000 times does not help either.

It has already been suggested we should have a locked section where common myths are refuted with the evidence that proves they are rubbish but they keep getting repeated by people who don't know any better though perhaps should.

Hilarious... the best looking guy on the planet with no job, no house or assets, and no interest in working sleeps alone.

An average looking guy with serious money on the other hand...

But this has nothing to do with fighter aircraft... fighter aircraft operate with weapons and the weapons US stealth fighters use are limited and likely wont be very effective in actual combat against a peer opponent... which means combat would come down to a knife fight... and Russian fighters are at a clear advantage in that situation.

The Americans learned from the Vietnam war that BVR missiles are bullshit and to win at air to air combat you need a gun and Sidewinders... well when the cold war ended and they got the chance to test with equipment the Russians were using they realised WVR combat is suicide because they were no safe from R-73s and helmet mounted sights, so they had to fund the AMRAAM... but AMRAAM isn't some magic weapon... it is no Hittile.

When they fail... and US stealth fighters can't carry very many at all while remaining stealthy... it then comes down to guns, for which TVC engines gives a serious advantage... but more importantly US fighters of all types have the Russian IADS network to deal with first and they simply don't have the numbers or the tools to open that gate... and while they are doing that ICBMs and SLBMs will be on their way and who will care what the score is with fighter planes?

It’s not rocket science to figure out a lot of people in Russia are лохи и пиздаболы.

Navalny and his supporters leap to mind... they think they are playing the west but they are getting played by the west to do the wests evil bidding to destroy the country they are natives of.

But of course traitors are everywhere and you can't allow the west to tell you which is which because they have no clue... many in the west will call Assange and Snowden and Manning traitors, when in actual fact they are patriots because they are revealing rather serious problems with the west and were clearly expecting those criminal actions they revealed to be prosecuted only to find the criminals run the asylum and they are the ones called out and on the run or in jail.

Navalny on the other hand is a whore with a taste for a comfortable lifestyle who will accept money from foreign governments to live a life he has not earned himself.

Really not sure what this has to do with Su-57s though so I am going to move quite a lot of this bullshit to the suitable thread.

If we are joking then if India does buy it they will reject all the Avionics and replace them all with super expensive Israeli and French systems that triple the price of the aircraft, and then complain about how much it all costs... ignoring the fact that no one else would let them build a stealth bomber of this type.

Start a complaint campaign, about how shitty this Russian plane is because the Israeli and French subsystems don't work.

French have lost their right to put their systems in russian military hardware. Either buy russian with your own system or russian with russian systems.

Israeli stuff may still be available but US would block it.

Don't get me wrong... I think it is every loyal ally of the USs duty to buy more F-35s than they can honestly afford... if that doesn't bankrupt them, I don't know what would... they are already bankrupt in every moral and ethical respect so lets make it a complete set of financially bankrupt too.

Who cares ? Su-30 are the backbone of their fleet and they will upgrade them soon with or without french stuff. Meanwhile Rafale were bought in small quantity.

I remember they upgarded more than 60 mig-29 for less than 1 billion and 24 mirages for more than 2 billion.

Russia will be happy to upgrade the mki with their own stuff for few dollars to get ride of french stuff and then propose the Checkmate as a replacement for Rafale.

If there is one thing Russia could do is make it easier to add new systems to the avionics as plugins like the Swedes did with the Gripen.
It has modular software architecture. So a client can program a module for a new weapon system and integrate it without asking the Swedes to change the main software on their side or getting access to their source codes.

This is important for countries like China or India which have to integrate their own weapon systems. Like their own air to air missiles and crap like that. This could also get sales to countries like Turkey.
Other countries might also have older stocks of missiles for which there is currently no avionics support but they don't want to waste those stocks and buy all new stuff with likely similar specs.

But India pushes it way too much with their franken programs to change the radar and everything. I think there is a limit to how modular the software can be.
But this modularity in the avionics of the Gripen is the reason why the Boeing (actually Saab) could push out the T-7A Red Hawk trainer aircraft so quickly.
It is a trainer version of the Gripen basically.

If the PAK DA is what I expect it to be, it will be a competitor to B-21 Raider. A medium size twin engine bomber aircraft. With performance level to replace the Tu-95 and the Tu-22M3 in some roles. A "cheap", well price is relative, bomber to replace the backbone of the fleet for many decades to come. Because it certainly won't cost the incredibucks the B-21 is turning out to cost after pork barrelling. The Tu-160M will replace Tu-160 and Tu-22M3 in supersonic mission. Russia will have the best bomber fleet.

Who cares ? Su-30 are the backbone of their fleet and they will upgrade them soon with or without french stuff. Meanwhile Rafale were bought in small quantity.

That is Indias problem... I am sure there would be a group of Cliche within the air force and the government who would love to do what Eastern Europe has just done and offloaded all its Soviet era stuff for western stuff... but there is no way they could possibly afford it without spending what the US spends a year on defence.

How long before France starts to pressure India the way the US is pressuring India to stop trading with Russia... they spent a lot of money on those Rafales... if they refuse to support them they become very very expensive junk.

That pro west group just wont disappear... some of them probably prefer the gear in the same way some people perfer apple and some IBM clones, but a significant chunk will just like the enormous budgets it creates with lots of money to shuffle around and perhaps lose into certain bank accounts... there are such people everywhere...

Russia will be happy to upgrade the mki with their own stuff for few dollars to get ride of french stuff and then propose the Checkmate as a replacement for Rafale.

Of course they would, but those factions in the Indian armed forces and government will need to be neutered for that to happen first.

If there is one thing Russia could do is make it easier to add new systems to the avionics as plugins like the Swedes did with the Gripen.
It has modular software architecture. So a client can program a module for a new weapon system and integrate it without asking the Swedes to change the main software on their side or getting access to their source codes.

Most IBM type computers and their networks are already modular, the days of aircraft specific radars and aircraft specific missiles for the Russian military ended with the MiG-29 and Su-27 and MiG-31.

But of course the Swedes want modular because they form part of the bully network so there are some potential customers they want to extract money from that they don't necessarily want to provide equipment capable of hurting its superiors, so such flexibility in design might make sense for them.

This is important for countries like China or India which have to integrate their own weapon systems. Like their own air to air missiles and crap like that. This could also get sales to countries like Turkey.

Yeah, because there is no way to integrate foreign weapons into Su-30MKI or MiG-29UPG designs.... NOT.

I suspect the west has a part to play in this by promising all sorts of capabilities for their stuff... they wont find out till they bought it and put it into service and of course once that money and time has been spent it would be easy to blame any performance shortfall on the Russian or Indian devices the western hardware is attached to.

It matters when you are picking countries for serious trade relations and cultural interaction.

There was a time when just someones word was good enough because the result of going back on your word would destroy your reputation and damage you more than any response from your victims.

Then the west started getting lawyers involved and now when they screw you they show that it was all your fault in the first place... our client did repeatedly tell you HATO would not expand one inch to the east, but because you didn't get it in writing in an agreement that was signed and documented then it is all your own fault... but then even if you did get it signed it wouldn't matter because they would just withdraw from it like they have withdrawn from so many other agreements and then it would still be your fault.

Splitting with the west is the best thing Russia could possibly do... they are broken and wrong.
