Haitian President Jovenel Moise assassinated at his residence Empty Haitian President Jovenel Moise assassinated at his residence

    Post  George1 Wed Jul 07, 2021 5:25 pm

From the state of Haiti, there are reports of an attempt on the life of the president of the country, committed in a private residence.

According to the latest information, unidentified persons carried out an attack on the residence of Jovenel Moise. They managed to break into the complex at night. One of the attackers, making his way into the bedroom of the head of Haiti, fired a shot.

The country's government issued a message stating that the injury was fatal.

    From the report:

Unknown persons who spoke Spanish committed an inhuman act. This is barbarism. President Moise is assassinated in a private residence in Port-au-Prince. We responsibly declare that the situation in Haiti remains under control.

The statement that everything is "under control", at the same time, raises certain doubts, if only for the reason that unknown persons in the state can easily enter the presidential residence, which should be guarded.

    For your information:

Jovenel Moise became President of Haiti in February 2017. He was born in 1968 in the family of a farmer and a seamstress. In the 1990s, he was engaged in the business of growing and selling fruit. Prior to his presidency, he held various positions in various spheres of government in Haiti. Earlier, the president has already been assassinated. It was also reported that a coup d'etat was being prepared in Haiti at the beginning of the year. The organizers of the coup attempt are considered to be a structure that consists mainly of former security officials who are going to take power in the Caribbean state into their own hands.

The State of Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the world. One of the record holders in Latin America in terms of migration rates to the United States. Today, one in 8 Haitians lives in the United States of America. The official languages in the country are local (Creole) and French.

Really sad.  That poor country and those poor people have been impoverished since that island actually became a country.  It was in tough shape as it is but when that earthquake came through a few years back, it decimating the poor island even more and made matters almost irrecoverable.  I can't believe that it's actually been somewhat of a functioning country since then and hasn't just collapsed into a major failed state, but rather has been clinging on to some form of functionality.  The only other example I could think of that is remotely close to this situation would be Somalia during the severe famine that ran rampant during the 80's and early 90's IIRC

One can't help but feel sorry for these people when the president can't even sleep in his secure home without the fear of being assassinated.

This was obviously some kind of inside job with the murderers having access to the home without raising any alarms of any type.  And how the wife got away with just injuries or wounds is just crazy.  What a sad state of affairs and situation.

He was a US backed client who was ruling by decree for over a year and was very unpopular. He withheld both the constitutionally due national elections as well as a constitutional referendum in holding on to office, all sanctioned by his Uncle Sam. Since holding on to office, Haiti has witnessed massive public uprising and violent protests on a per capita scale bigger than what transpired in Venezuela. But since he is US sponsored, nary a note was heard by the "free and independent" MSM. There was even some footage on occasions of groups of protesters calling for Russian intervention, but not sure if it was serious or just anti-American, yankee-go-home taunting.

Similar mass public dissent and protests have also been taking place couple years now in several Latin American countries such as Colombia, Peru, Ecuador and Chile, but since they are Washington's client states, all we hear about is Venezuela.

Just like like the only human rights issues anyone hears these days is about Uighurs! Hong Kong! Belarus! and no where else.

Looks like my haunch was not off target. Kind of hard to fake American accents by locals and the ploy used to infiltrate
the compound is not something random Haitians would pull.

As for the Clinton installed regime, it is still there. So this is not a coup. I will compare this to the assassination of
Kennedy. He went off script and got offed. I think there is a high chance that Moise was in the same situation.

Yeah I have to say I agree with the fella with the goofy Bri-ish accent that it doesn't make any sense that this was a US government hit, the way it was carried out. A guy with a seemingly American accent commanding orders and claiming he and his crew are DEA? That in of itself is a little bizarre and too much of an obvious effort to make it sound like it is an American outfit carrying out this assassination. Certainly an inside job considering the access they had to the compound alone. I think we'll probably get a bit more information in the next few weeks.

Suspicious. I wonder if any CIA involvement in this.

"Bocchit Edmond, the Haitian ambassador to the United States, said the attack on the 53-year-old Moïse "was carried out by foreign mercenaries and professional killers — well-orchestrated,” and that they were masquerading as agents of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. The DEA has an office in the Haitian capital to assist the government in counternarcotics programs, according to the U.S. Embassy."

"Joseph said the heavily armed gunmen spoke Spanish or English, but he gave no details on the attack."

"Katz noted that a majority of Haitian presidents have been forced out of office, although it’s been more than a century since a sitting one was killed.

“It seems to be a pretty well-financed operation,” he said, adding that authorities could spend days trying to piece together what happened. “That’s the question: Who’s behind it and what do they want?”

2 U.S. citizens arrested in Haitian president's assassination

    BY VLADIMIR DUTHIERS
    JULY 8, 2021 / 6:44 PM / CBS NEWS

Haiti is a country under siege as the manhunt for the killers of President Jovenel Moïse ramps up. More than a dozen suspects have been arrested in the last 24 hours, and at least seven others have been killed.

Two of those arrested are a U.S. citizens from Florida, James Solages and Joseph Vincent.

Authorities are still trying to figure out why a hit squad of roughly two dozen men assassinated the president on Wednesday at his home. Moïse was shot 12 times in the head and body, while his wife was shot three times. Their daughter survived by hiding in a bedroom and managing to escape.

Suspects in the assassination of Haiti's President Jovenel Moise sit on the floor handcuffed after being detained, at the General Direction of the police in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on Thursday, July 8, 2021.

Former Haitian Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe has called for an international investigation into the assassination.
"This was a contracted hit to go ahead and kill the president, silence the president," he told CBS News on Thursday. "The world cannot wait. It's important for every nation's security and for the country's stability to get to those who have financed this assassination of the president."

Moïse had become increasingly unpopular for clinging to power after his term expired in February. Protesters had been demanding his resignation for months before he was killed.

A new power struggle has since begun — and in the Haitian capital, the fear is palpable.

"What is going on? Because we do not understand the game on the ground. We do not know who the players are. We do not know what the purpose is," said resident Magalie Noel Dresse. "We do not know what, how it's going to influence the future of us now, here, today and my children, because what we are living today is going to be dictating the future of my children."

The problem is trust... you say this guy was hated by his own people and they offed him... is that like the people of Venezuela had Maduro and he should just step down.

I would want more independent sources of information about the subject before I decide what to think.... not that it matters what I think... the US is happy to pay mercenaries in Venezuela to break out prisoners and break into a nearby Army depot to arm them... and the number of times they tried to kill Castro.... do you not appreciate this could easily be just a case of the US getting rid of someone they installed because they stopped following orders... Saddam... Gadaffi, Assad... Erdogan... that Ukrainian guy... you know... all of them expendable... etc etc etc...

Post  Kiko Fri Jul 09, 2021 2:38 pm

The expert explained the participation of Colombians in the assassination of the President of Haiti, 09.07.2021.

“The Colombian military is often involved as mercenaries in various special operations,” Latin American expert Victor Kheifets told VZGLYAD newspaper, commenting on reports of the involvement of former Colombian military personnel in the assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moise.

“Colombian retired military personnel have participated more than once as hired servicemen in various special operations. There is nothing surprising here, ”noted Viktor Kheifets, professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences, director of the Center for Ibero-American Studies at St. Petersburg State University.

According to the interlocutor, the Colombian army is highly professional. “This is a trained army with half a century of combat experience in suppressing the partisan movement. Probably, no army in Latin America has such experience of military operations, ”the expert explained.

“There are enough professionals in the Colombian army,” added Heifetz. - When the volume of conflicts in the country decreased, peace agreements were signed, there were fewer professionals - someone was outside the army. And people need work".

Haitian National Police Chief Leon Charles said that of the 28 members of the squad that  killed  President Moise, 26 are Colombian citizens, and two are US citizens of Haitian descent. According to the detained Haitian Americans James Solage and Joseph Vincent, they "were translators" in the group that attacked the presidential residence.

The Ministry of Defense of Colombia admitted that  former military personnel of the country may be involved in the murder  . 11 people were  detained  at the territory of the Taiwan embassy in the capital of Haiti, Port-au-Prince.

The assassination of the President of Haiti is not the first case of the participation of paramilitary groups from Colombia in provocations on the territories of other countries. For example, in 2015, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro accused Colombia of invading "paramilitares" (irregular armed groups) into the border state of Tachira. The crisis in relations between the two countries resulted in the closure of the border and the deportation of Colombian citizens from Venezuela, and counter-accusations from Colombia for the penetration of Venezuelan troops across the border.

“Therefore, the very fact of the participation of the Colombian military in various incidents involving the use of armed people does not surprise me,” Kheifetz said. - If they are really Colombians, because in a Haitian prison you can tell anything you want. The whole story still looks very strange there".

We add that on Friday, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said : Moscow calls for punishment of the customers and accomplices of the assassination of the President of Haiti.

    https://m.vz.ru/news/2021/7/9/1108067.html

The whole Colombian army has been trained by the yanks. Further, there are seven in total US military bases inside Colombian territory.

US Citizens Arrested for Murder of Haitian President Speak of Mastermind ‘Mike’, Reports Suggest, 09.07.2021.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - The two Americans arrested in Haiti in connection with the murder of President Jovenel Moise say that they only worked as translators for the hit squad on behalf of the plot’s mastermind named Mike, the New York Times reported on Friday, citing a Haitian judge in the investigation.

The two men were identified as James J. Solages, a former security guard at the Canadian Embassy in Haiti, and Joseph Vincent. Both men were Haitian-born US citizens.

Vincent would only say that the mastermind of the broader plot was a foreigner named ‘Mike’ who spoke both Spanish and English. Solages said that he had found the job to translate for the hit squad in a listing posted online, but would not say how much they had been paid, the New York Times said.

Vincent and Solages have also insisted that the plan, as they understood it, was not to kill Moise. Rather, they said that the mercenaries’ goal was to arrest him under the warrant of an investigating magistrate.

President Moise and his wife were shot at their private residence early Wednesday morning. No motive for the assassination is currently known, although most of the detained suspects are Colombian. The White House announced on Friday that it will be sending senior FBI and DHS officials to help probe Moise’s assassination.

“The group that financed the mercenaries want to create chaos in the country,” he said. “Attacking the gas reserves and airport might be part of the plan.”

The troops would also be asked to protect Haiti's port, airport, and energy facilities.

There is no word yet as to whether the US will accede to Port-au-Prince's request.

On Thursday, Edmond Bocchit, Haiti's ambassador to the US, told France 24 that that the Haitian National Police (PNH) had been "overwhelmed and facing well-armed gangs" and welcomed any assistance that would allow the restoration of orderly life.

"Now we need help: it's very important to say that, we cannot hide it," Bocchit said. However, he added that they had "not been discussing" the deployment of US forces to the country, which is about 600 miles southeast of Florida.

The US has a long history of military interventions in Haiti, including a 19-year military occupation and puppet government from 1915 to 1934 which similarly followed the killing of a Haitian head of state - President Vilbrun Guillaume Sam - and which resulted in the theft of Haiti's entire national gold reserve and the deaths of 15,000 Haitians under the regime.

Earlier on Friday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki told reporters at a regular briefing that the US was dispatching federal officers from the FBI and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to Haiti "in response to a specific request," as well as $5 million for the PNH.
