I dont want to be the schizo here but its like the tass space agency news source is monitoring the behaviour of how we react. We acted super pissed off about there being a delay than a news source comes later that there is no delay on Yenisei. We get pissed at Rogozin, they know have to make him a hero that he is defending the nuclear project from the evil goverment that wants to shut it down. If the general public was to vote for which projects they want they would all vote for the nuclear space tug over ROSS or the joint lunar station project with the chinese. As much as they have not explained why the 2023-2024 rockets or how much better they are than their latest expandable rockets or why they will have impact on the market over competitors re-usable rockets, We now get super fucking irritating news again that there is considered opposition of the nuclear space tug project which is the biggest fucking thing in the century that I was looking forward to.

I think its more like a project review than an actual "defense" such as having to fight off the budget-cutter nazis. Russia would be nuts to cancel or scale back Zeus. This project, more than any other, is the real deal when it comes to innovation and impact on future operations.

Sputniks is preparing to launch satellites in early 2022.

Sputniks ("Satellite Innovative Space Systems") is a private Russian company established in 2011, which is engaged in the development of promising technologies for creating satellite platforms and the production of microsatellite and nanosatellite service systems.

As part of the Space-Pi program, which is supported by the Innovation Promotion Foundation, the company will launch small satellites into space, whose task is automatic identification of ships and remote sensing of the Earth.

Now the spacecraft are being tested and prepared for launching into orbit. We intend to finish all the preliminary work at Sputniks by the end of this year. And in the first quarter of the next one, send them into space.

Roscosmos has created a new AESA receiving and transmitting module for high-speed orbital radio lines.

The Russian Space Systems Holding Company (RKS), part of the state Corporation Roscosmos, announced the development of a next-generation active phased array (AESA) receiving and transmitting module. The solution opens the way to the deployment of high-speed orbital radio lines.

Russian specialists have created new modules for AFAR with the function of adjusting the phase and amplitude of the ultrahigh frequency (microwave) signal. The product is based on an electronic component base of RKS's own development.

The module components are mounted on microwave boards created on the basis of the highly reliable LTCC (Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramic) technology.

"The advanced materials, the set and layout of the module elements are selected in such a way that, with low energy consumption, it ensures the perfect operation of the emitters-microstrip antennas, which, when transmitting and receiving signals, will be continuously exposed to the harsh conditions of outer space" – the message says.

The new AESA has 144 emitters. The mass of the entire antenna assembly will slightly exceed 15 kg, and the power consumption will be about 140 watts. At the same time, the system will provide a bandwidth of up to 2400 Mbit/s, which is twice as much as compared to current complexes.

It is expected that the new development of the RKS will be used to transmit information from Russian satellites to the Earth, including remote sensing devices with high-resolution equipment.

Dmitry Rogozin said that about 15 space launches are expected by the end of this year.

About 15 launches of space rockets from different spaceports are planned until the end of 2021. This was announced on Tuesday by the general director of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin.

The head of the state corporation recalled that last week the 15th launch of the year took place. "Until the end of the year, there will be about the same number of launches from various launch sites of Russian launch vehicles," Rogozin said during the scientific and practical conference "Orbit of Youth".

This year, it is expected to launch two manned missions (Soyuz MS-19 with a movie crew, Soyuz MS-20 with two Japanese tourists), the Berth node module, the Progress MS-18 cargo ship and three rocket launches with OneWeb satellites, as well as other launches.

Initial tests of the ERA manipulator on the ISS revealed problems with data transmission.

Experts have identified data transmission failures during the first tests of the new ERA robot manipulator placed on the outer surface of the multi-purpose laboratory module "Nauka" of the International Space Station (ISS). This was announced on Thursday by the European Space Agency.

"The installation and connection of ERA will take place in January 2022. The ERA computer, its external control panel and the Russian computer work well and exchange data. However, during the initial tests, data transmission failures were detected between the Zvezda and Nauka modules" – the agency said in a Twitter message.

Now the cause of these failures is being investigated, but European experts expressed confidence that there is enough time for troubleshooting. They also assured that the connection between the ISS, the Mission Control Center in Russia and the ERA technical support center in the Netherlands "has been fine-tuned and successfully tested."

As reported on Wednesday in Roscosmos, cosmonauts of the Russian segment of the ISS are working on testing and activating the control systems of the ERA robot manipulator. In particular, they are engaged in the activation of the manipulator control and the integration of software in the station control system. It was reported that in the future, the astronauts will have to conduct a number of tests of the manipulator's systems and software to check its operability and deployment on the Russian segment of the ISS.

I am having fun so far with trolling on websites by saying here is your starship bros by posting the Yenisei is going methane sources. I am also assuming that the Don rocket will be the same exact shit but it carries a third stageI think they have better options like nukes instead of methane for Mars. Is the Don rocket on the I dont know if it will get funded phase because it sounds guaranteed we will get Yenisei?

If Putin is quoting the same exact shit as Rogozin than I doubt there will be any budget cuts if the president himself seems supportive about it. Thats a relief.

    https://tass.com/science/1343973

SOCHI, September 29. /TASS/. Russia is 6-7 years ahead of its competitors in development of unique nuclear power energy technologies for space, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a meeting on development of the space industry.

"We have made a significant progress in development of unique space nuclear energy technologies. According to specialists, Russia is 6-7 years ahead of all its competitors, of the entire world," Putin said.

The president noted that this is a good achievement and it must be used by supporting breakthrough scientific research in cosmonautics and by accelerating the practical implementation of promising technological solutions.

"We will discuss the specific steps in this regard today, as well," he said.

According to the president, it is necessary to reinforce the ground infrastructure, in order to develop the orbital space industry and increase the number of launches.

Why this is not news here ?

Roscosmos is denouncing and recognizing that the western sanctions are delaying/holding back
    the Russian space program.  Neutral

So is this the wonderful "space development" ,that Russia government envision for the future of Russia in space , one where Russia progress and development ,will be dependent on the mood of the west.
Rogozin himself complained sometime ago, that they can build lots of space rockets , but nothing to put inside them because of the sanctions of the west in high tech hampers their space program advance.   Shocked

Who is to blame for this bullshit?
if this the "vision" , Russia policy makers planned for Russia? One that their own space program
can't move properly for not being able to buy technology from Europe or US. ?  If this is not proof ,
of massive incompetence of Russia government , in space ,then no idea what is .   if they don't have talent inside to produce all the technology they need for space , then they could have moved long time ago and get it elsewhere , hire foreign talent , if they don't have them inside .  Make no mistakes , all this problems , could have been avoided ,had russia invested properly in space and not diverted half of the budget of their space program ,but completely meaningless distractions , as sports olympics and olympics wargames , and endless victory parades for celebrating the great old past on top of the backwards development of the nation economy , that near half  of russian budget of the nation comes according to his own economic minister from energy supplies and services , ie.. Russia energy industry.  This numbers will now only increase with nordstream pipeline 2.   Laughing  it doesn't take a genius to know where the top engineers and scientist will go , to where the money is ,which is not in space , since top cosmonauts have resigned their job to move to the energy industry.

Russia bad management , incredibly backwards economic model heavily focused on third world economic models ,just like venezuela and africa ,that depends heavily in sales from farming , mining and energy sales . This is  very poor vision of their administration of the nation played a key role , in this shameful admission of russia top space industry today  .  Russia space program is delayed by the decades pf stagnation ,of its high tech industry ,by which its space industry is heavily dependent. From satellites electronic equipment ,special optics equipment ,to semiconductors to many other
things ,that russia alone can't do ,without the help of other nations ,that US influence , and sanctions to be removed in order to solve those problems.   No

Now is clear that all this fake image of Russia as a "sovereign and independent " successful nation ,was all propaganda by the government . Russia modern development is extremely dependent in the west , even in simple things ,like airliners to fly their people abroad ,depends heavily in technology that only is produced in the west ,since russia airliners have been spoken on their preference of already made jets from france or US ,than the experimental planes , the nation is attempting to create and still under test.

Russia’s missions to explore cosmos held back by mixture of Western sanctions and Covid-19 pandemic, country’s space agency warns

Russian rockets and satellites are facing fresh setbacks to getting off the ground, one of Moscow’s top space agency bosses has warned, citing the coronavirus crisis and a series of restrictions imposed on the country from abroad.
Speaking to TASS on Thursday, Maxim Ovchinnikov, the first deputy director of Roscosmos charged with overseeing the organization’s with a more than $2 billion budget, warned that a lack of supplies and logistical hurdles had grounded a number of launches.

“The coronavirus pandemic, slimmer resources to support our activities, and sanctions on buying components for rocket and space equipment have all had a negative impact on delivering our work,” he said.

i don't know how this is not news.. this should be scandalous ,admission of the failure of putin's
"substitution program" and proof of the massive incompetence of the Russian government in regaining independence of their space program"   Is a leadership problem ,because part of the job of russia development of its leaders ,is to properly finance the nation development and find the correct people ,either in russia or hire them from abroad to get the correct people for the correct positions to get things done.  This scandal sounds like more delays for Russia space program , and this not something to feel proud about , but some heads need to fall . Russia should not bother with space and admit they can't compete anymore there , and limit to just do experiments in the low orbit in earth. Russia era of space glory is over , and will never return back with such outdated government and administration.  No

people with any hopes for Russia to become anything "special in space" , im afraid will be very
disappointed, In the only thing Russia have shown to be good in space , is on propaganda , of how their future space program will be ,but this are things that will never be done , or never will take off ,and by the time they do , it will be too late ,a decade or more behind US and China space program ,for it to matter at all .  The scientific talent do exist , but is the mediocre government they have in place , that holds back the entire nation modernization of its economy, because of the way the nation economy works , makes all their best people to move to the gas station that russia economy is . A major revolution will be need , and The "united russia "party of russia and its president will have to be removed ,and replaced , before Russia can become a true influential nation in earth and space and become a true leader in the world development ,that could become an alternative to the west.

How the fck does setbacks from sanctions mean the incompetence of the gov. Look up comparative advantage, import substitution and trade theory god damn it, that's high school knowledge. Just, literally learn some macro econ... If sanctions don't have any effect on the Russian space sector, or literally any other sector at all, then what's the fcking point of introducing said sanctions in the first place. And btw literally no space agency on Earth is 'independence', that's just not how things work.

just like venezuela and africa ,that depends heavily in sales from farming , mining and energy sales . This is  very poor vision of their administration of the nation played a key role

This once again proves you don't know jack shit about economics. Look up strategies for growth and development of economy pls.

And stop using Google translate jeez.

Why wouldn't Russia denounce sanctions against them... they are not a favour the US is doing for Russia... they are a penalty to limit their profits and access to world markets... they are an attempt to damage Russia.

Space is all about cooperation according to the US, but they play their fucking stupid sanctions game even here...

This is not news... this is Russia saying we are not going to cooperate with the US and at the same time have the US block our companies involved in cooperating with them in space while pretending everything is fine.

Either you drop the sanctions or Russia is going to drop the cooperation... what else should they say?

BTW if US sanctions are preventing Russia from accessing space and stop it from being a space power the last thing they would do is end cooperation because they would need the US to remain a space power... it is pretty clear now that they have obviously reached a point where they don't actually need the US any more... perhaps those semi conductors or other electronics they traded with the Chinese for Russian rocket technology has meant they don't need the west any more and are thinking why should we cooperate with groups trying to limit us and hold us back with sanctions that reduce our profits and our access to markets around the world...

The US has a choice... they can cooperate with Russia or they can have sanctions.... finally Russia is saying you cannot have both and need to make a choice.

The fact that Russia is now telling the US to back off or cooperation will end suggests they clearly see a future without any need for cooperation with the west... they realise that not only could they do it on their own or with different partners, but that that future might actually work out better for them in the long run because of the damaging influence the west has on Russia.

Russo-Chinese space cooperation is pretty recent story. I hope it will develop. China alone can be considered counterweight western world. As long as we can see the future itnerests fo both countries are very close each other. Especially in space/electronics/military

What I look the most forward to is the Yenisei launching the orel spacecraft to the moon in 2028. https://arstechnica.com/science/2021/02/acting-nasa-chief-says-2024-moon-landing-no-longer-a-realistic-target/ https://arstechnica.com/science/2020/01/house-bill-seeks-to-gut-nasas-artemis-plan-resurrect-journey-to-mars/ https://www.theregister.com/2020/01/27/moon_2028/

so they have selected Space X https://www.nationalgeographic.com/science/article/nasa-selects-spacex-to-build-the-lunar-lander-for-artemis-missions-to-the-moon In a key milestone for NASA’s plan to return humans to the moon, the space agency today announced that SpaceX will build the vehicle that will land astronauts on the lunar surface. The current plan, known as Artemis, calls for astronauts to launch on NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) rocket, fly to lunar orbit on the space agency’s Orion space capsule, and then transfer to SpaceX’s Starship rocket to make the final descent to the surface.

So they are launching the crew from a kerosene rocket, landing them on orion than from orion transferring them to a methane rocket starship to land on the moon, so why not just put them on starship to get them to orion instead of SLS? While the Yenisei will be the 1st methane rocket to deliver a crew on Orel in 2028 than land them in 2030. So this is the space race.

Russia and the west could be so much better if they worked together... things would be cheaper and much easier... but the west.... in particular, the US does not know how to work as a team of equals... the fact that they are imposing sanctions of Russia but want Russian support against China and Iran shows they are not really worth cooperating with.

With China I can see very good cooperation potential, but there will be things that interest Russia that China might not be interested in so Russia needs to be prepared to do it alone but be open to partners.... which describes the entire Putin Presidency...
