When I was at university, one of my lecturers teaching HCI (human computer interaction... essentially designing stuff to be easy and natural to use) was in the Singapore armed forces and he was given the task of developing a way to rapidly clear the hard drive on field deployed computers.
The first solution (I believe suggested by their American allies) was a special keyboard with a red plastic cover that had to be opened revealing a switch which put the hard drive in delete mode so it automatically formatted the hard drive essentially and wiping the data so if captured by the enemy it had no value.

The cost of those keyboards was $1 thousand US dollars in the 1980s, which was rather expensive.

The eventual solution was a few cents worth of red tape.

Every soldier had a 45 cal automatic pistol, so by putting a red tape cross on the computer box to indicate the location of the hard drive, if the unit was overrun the soldiers were ordered to fire two shots through the hard drives rendering them safe almost immediately and cheaply.

Sometimes there are easy and cheap solutions to problems that don't require expensive and complex solutions.

If you are operating a drone via a laptop if a games controller has the driver software to allow you to map the various buttons and switches and sliders on the controllers to all the functions you need then you really don't need a from scratch custom designed controller to be developed and produced... just put sticky labels on it for the controls and most kids brought up on computer games should be able to adapt quite quickly.

Equally there are a lot of USB based controls that could be used for drones like flight control sticks and throttles you could buy off the shelf much cheaper and faster than could be custom made for you.

On the basis of the Ryazan Guards School of the Airborne Forces, training sessions are held with students of Moscow universities "Winter in Special Forces".

They said the tail graphic indicated what they were testing... they have had graphics showing S-70s, but this graphic seems to show air to ground missile use...

I did a double take, thought it sported a "Sparta" M (from the Metro series of books and video games, later in use by the real-life DNR battalion with the same name) at first.



The missile just barely visible in the "Su" logo is definitely an R-77/RVV-AE though, AA.

Ahh, I didn't really look at the shape of the missile, more at its direction.

Has anyone seen the background shape without the aircraft on top?

I was wondering about what appear to be lightning bolts on the wing tips and from one engine...
