Pandemic to claim the lives of at least 600,000 Russians
Hysterical BS. The current death toll in the USA is 257,713 and in Russia it is 34,850. Unlike the USA Russia has not
been engaging full lockdowns so in principle more people are exposed and their is no untouched population that is
going to die off on a delayed schedule compared to the USA.
Russian deaths are now at about 450 per day. They are about 1,500 in the USA. Suppose Russian deaths hit
1,500 per day. That would require 377 days to reach 600,000 total deaths. We have seen that Covid-19
peaks do not last such long periods. Let us assume that the winter peak will last a solid 3 months or 90
days. Russian deaths would then have to average about 6,000 per day during this period to reach such a
total death count.
The US situation gives some guidance about Russia will face this winter. The US has over 160,000 new cases
per day yet its daily deaths are 1,500. This is less than when the USA saw 30,000 new cases daily during
its initial peak.
Clearly there is a saturation effect and if a country the size of the USA is not seeing even 3,000 deaths per day
what is the basis that Russia will be seeing 6,000 per day with half the population? Based on US figures, the
maximum daily deaths in Russia will remain under 1,500. And with the saturation effect are likely not to exceed
1,000 by much. So the total deaths in Russia after this winter are not likely to exceed 90,000 on top of the
And any claim that there is not going to be any attenuation of the new cases and deaths by the winter if 2021/22
