Hahahahaha.... the Americans want the Georgians to build them a deep water port so they can have submarines in the Black Sea... not sure how that would work because the rules of entry to the Black Sea don't allow outside countries to visit with Submarines at all.

Pretty funny that they are essentially demanding that Georgia funds and guarantees the construction of a city and deep water port when they already have two ports that handle sea trade and are not over worked and are a little dilapidated... so funds will be spent creating extra port capacity that is not needed, when rather less funds could be used to upgrade and improve the two existing ports to improve their status... but that would not benefit the US Navy.

Georgia better learn to do as she is told or she might start getting bitch slapped... how are those for traditional values...

Georgians will just hate Russians more as they take it up the ass from the yanquis. This is a peculiar pathology of the sycophant
brain. They are in denial that their beloved yanquis are scumbags, so they double down on their perceived "enemies" and scapegoats
    for all their problems.

If true, Romanian, Bulgarian & Turkish SSKs would use it. I doubt the USN SSNs would go there even if they could- the Russian SSKs & other ASW assets would detect them easier then SSKs which the USN doesn't operate. They don't even go to the Baltic AFAIK.

So you are saying the US is going to fund port developments in Georgia for submarine operations so Romanian and Bulgarian and Turkish submarines can use those ports?

Do you not understand how the US works?

Why would the US want to spend money upgrading a Georgian port so Romanian and Bulgarian and Turkish submarines can be based there... why would they need to be based in Georgia at all?

You don't need a deep water port for a visit, and what critical missions will Romanian or Bulgarian or Turkish subs be performing that requires millions of dollars worth of port upgrades?

This is for US SSNs and spy subs so they can have a good sneaky look around Russian naval defences and bases in the Black Sea... they are going to try to sneak in to the Black Sea without the Turks noticing, because other wise they are not allowed to go in...

SSNs can't get though the Turkish straits while submerged w/o being detected before entering them; besides, they r not deep enough to hide in & there's heavy mil/civ. traffic with big risk of collision. Turkey has helos & SSKs that can detect them. Also, the US doesn't need to make their relations with Turkey any worse than  it already is.

probably for more BRI goods to bypass Russia, hurting her economy & improving Georgia's.

Don't see how they can possibly succeed

If in the Ukrainian case the conflict is still hot, the Ukrainian military has achieved a considerably more serious superiority over the break-away republics than it had in 2014, and it can threaten a scenario of cutting off Russian gas supplies, sinking the Nord Stream 2 project and besieging Pridnestrovie; then Georgia is comparatively out of options

The conflicts in Abkhazia and S. Ossetia have been frozen in place since 2008, the Georgian military has not increased its capacities significantly while Russia openly has troops in its break-away republics, and there is little prospect of widening the war or creating any unpleasantaries for Russia

If a large scale fighting erupts in Ukraine, I'm sur many Georgians will volunteer on Kiev's side. After it's over, those who survive may go back & destabilize Georgia, or use their combat experience against Russian interests in the region.

So. Serbians and Chechens came to volunteer on Russia's side in 2014.

There r a lot more Georgians ready to kill Russians than them, & there were many Chechens on the Kiev's side too. Time will tell!
