Iraq could buy Iskander-E from Russia without much issue. It could also ask Iran for one of their inventions.Werewolf wrote:sheytanelkebir wrote:longest range rocket we have is bm-21.

Dunno if Iraq has strong enough position to launch missiles at Turkish troops. That would be like a declaration of war. It is normal that before resorting to military means, diplomatic means are used.

They were told to leave by Iraqi government if they now go to the useless diplomatic table of the very enemy Iraq faces (ISIS) since they are their patron they will only encourage the enemy. Read my signature and try to think consequences in long run. Never let bullies unpunished for their behavior. There is literally nothing that turkey or NATO could do in that situation. Iraq is already not anymore in tight control of US and they are happily seeking for russian weapons any further actions of turkey would threaten US plans for that region and so turks have to troll themselfs in any case.Ceylaps are barking but the caravan moves on.

Is Russia willing to escalate conflcit with Turkey? Is Iraq willing it too? Turkey may ask KRG buddies to stop fighting ISIS ot may send more troops to N. Iraq. What then? More missile strikes?
I would go for that but only if all diplomatic and economic means of pressure are already exhausted.

No need for war friends. Turkey said they will leave now that the US "appealed" (more like forced them) to get the hell out of Iraq.
Every action Turkey does makes it more and more like the enemy. I am glad they came to Iraq and made fools of themselves. They thought they could push around Iraq and well it looks like Turkey couldn't find an ally in their escapades.
US is probably scared of losing Iraq completely to Russian sphere so it will have to make concessions like this. We do this all the time. They give us expensive weapons that cost billions and we instead turn to Russia, give them billions and they give us weapons that they let us IRAQIS maintain not some US contractor that cost 300,000 dollars every year for doing nothing different to an Iraqi mechanic. They have perpetuated the "iraqis cant do anything technical" myth so hard it is ridiculous. Iraq at one point operated one of the most diverse air forces in the entire world and America thinks we can't repair a few Abrams tanks or Cessna prop planes.

I agree with Walther... no point in adding Turkey to the list of enemies... it might make some feel better but it wont help Iraq.
They just need to keep calm and pay attention to who is being helpful and who is being a pain in the ass.
Bombing them now will just cause more problems... but when ISIS are defeated in Iraq and things are being sorted out... Iraq should remember who helped and who didn't and offer help to neighbours with their problems even if it is against the interests of those who hindered now in Iraq... make a note of the excuses and reasons given now and use them later to justify your actions... I am sure they will work it out eventually.
For instance it was Russia opening the borders of South Ossetia and Abkhazia with Russia that caused Georgia to attack SO... Russia didn't do that for fun or to cause problems... they did it because the west allowed Kosovo to gain independence so Russia felt South Ossetia and Abkhazia deserved the same... the western media has no or will not expose the connection to the western public then and they wont with this...
@Iraqiya... yes... the US has certainly made it clear it wants turkey out of iraq... and likely for the reasons you stated... the question is... what are they prepared to put on the table to keep the Russians out? or what will the iraqi government accept for such a thing... this is actually rather good for the iraqi government... I do hope they don't let the wolf into their house and just keep it outside guarding the house from the neighbours dogs...

I think that's exactly what we are seeing. If the US wants to keep Iraq it needs to be a real wolf outside our house. If not we will get a bear who might require a bit of extra food every now and again but won't back down from defending our house when we need it.

Everyone here talking about "Russia should not escalate against Turkey" is really killing me with this stupefying baffling logic , I mean for FFS Erdogan just met with the guy who caused active terrorism/sabotage in Crimea via the energy blockade, and even Putin just recently pointed out that Turkey is abusing the visa-free regime between the two countries to shovel battle-hardened Chechen extremists back in to the Russian federation...here from a post in another thread:
https://www.russiadefence.net/t4737p195-russian-military-involvement-and-aid-to-syria-7#143297
Everyone here talking about "only diplomacy" approach should ask themselves if diplomacy is sooooooo effective with Turkey, then why does Turkey still deny the Armenian Genocide when the entire world recognizes it? Why does Turkey still occupy Greek Islands which happens to violate the Treaty of Lausanne? Why doesn't Turkey vacate Northern Cyprus when the entire world condemned them for it? Why does Turkey openly allow ISIS to cross borders with oil, weapons, and sex slaves? Why does Turkey constantly violate the airspace of Syria and Iraq, and send full blown armored divisions in to those territories without explicit permission? Why did Turkey violate Greek airspace over 2000 times in one year? I mean no amount of lying down will alleviate a jack-boot off your throat.
...BTW there's ways to truly punish Turkey without a full blown military confrontation such as exploiting the Greek-Turkish rift a strategic weakness within NATO. *cough, Cyprus, cough* The other one is to give a gift to Turkey....not a Cornish Hen, but a Kurdish Yemen...

...Yeah just mere coincidence.
There's also this:
That creeping Islamization, from which Ataturk would have probably turned over in his grave, you know, to have reflected. We see, we fix that in Turkey there are militants - came, say, from the North Caucasus. We have said many times to our partners, "But we do not do in relation to Turkey." No, they're still sitting there, they treated their guard. Then they use the visa-free entry, enter on the Turkish passport and dissolve, and we have to catch them then either in the Caucasus or in our cities. Therefore, it is exactly we will have to do, as well as take some other steps to ensure our national security

Turdogan is begging for a Kurdish Debaltsevo, and he may get a Cypriot one to boot!

Well, magnumcromagnon, the trick is to ignore most of the things that get posted.
By the way, the Turkish civil war has apparently been switched on. I had posted about it's commencement about a week ago actually.

Iraqi Army Wins Back 60 Percent of Ramadi City
Iraqi army and allied militia forces have recaptured most of the western city of Ramadi from Daesh terrorists, Iranian media wrote on Sunday.
"60 percent of Ramadi is now under the control of the Iraqi forces and it has been purged of Takfiri terrorists," Raje Barakat, member of Anbar governor office's security committee, said, Fars news agency reported.
He reiterated that dozens of militants have been killed in the Iraqi forces' operations in the country’s western Anbar province.
Barakat said that the Iraqi forces were advancing from several directions and the Islamist militants were now holed up in the city center.
Meantime, Iraqi Defense Minister Khaled al-Obeidi announced that the Iraqi forces were now close to taking full control of Ramadi city.
On November 17, the Iraqi security forces crossed the Euphrates River, for the first time since the ISIL terrorists captured Ramadi city, advancing towards the center of the city, Fars reported.
The Iraqi forces also regained control of several government buildings and institutions in Ramadi.
The Iraqi forces also managed to raise the Iraqi flag over the city's liberated areas after 4 days of intensified airstrikes on the militants’ positions in Ramadi, the agency said.

Step one of dealing with Erdogan is pushing his insane and frustrated islamist militia back onto Turkish territory. These goons are not going to cease being ISIS just because they cross an imaginary line on a map, the Turkish population will just have to deal with them as the Syrian's do.

They should buy thermobaric ATGM's for their heloes. It is really impressive what happens to entire buildings if such a round detonates within that building. No one survives that.
18+ Graphic
That was just an RPO-A (2.1kg warhead 93mm calibre) not an ATAKA-F with 9.5kg warhead at 130mm calibre.
They are to reluctant to use Thermobaric weapons which would kill people instantly without to much suffering and reduce collateral damage unlike HE-F missiles fragments can fly and kill up to 100m of unwanted targets or civilians.

Russia's campaign in Syria should be thanked for these successes. Daesh is overstretched and has redeployed
too much of its cannon fodder to Syria from Iraq. I guess it expected to actually defeat both Russia and Syria by
sending enough meat puppets over. Now they will lose it all. Good riddance!
