Meanwhile useless NATO couldn't even lift a finger to help Italy, or Spain, or the rest of the EU during the Covid-19 crisis Embarassed  Razz ....NATO's sworn enemies Russia and China were called in by Italy and Spain respectively for help against the Corona virus, while Breedlove, Wolters and Stoltenberg sat down with their thumbs up their asses doing nothing for NATO's so called allies. NATO is only good at turning Europeans in to Meat Shield like this. lol1
What has NATO got to do with helping European countries with Covid-19? NATO is a military alliance, defending against the evil enemies you mention.

The responsibility you mention is the EU's but even then the main, and in most countries total, responsibility is for their national government.

They're supposed to have planning, provisions and united strategies to fight biological contagion, sorry but you can't ignore their ineptitude in this crisis. Rolling Eyes

Nonsense, Uncle Sham engaged in no less than over 700 attempts of regime change against Cuba....they've been a target the entire time!!! BTW, Iran doesn't host any Russian nuclear weapons, but the Pentagram has stated they plan on using Nuclear Bunker Busters against Iran, meanwhile they have no plans of doing the same with North Korea...I wonder why? I am surprised HATO has not stood up and stated that Covid 19 could be a Russian virus they are stitching up China as having created because they are evil and that is highly likely the sort of thing they would do, but of course then they would be obliged to actually be able to do something about it... when they are completely impotent... what a surprise.

The responsibility you mention is the EU's but even then the main, and in most countries total, responsibility is for their national government.

Everyone must be in step when Washington orders them to impose sanctions on Russia or China or Iran or North Korea or Cuba, but when countries in the EU need help it is every country for themselves and screw everyone else...

Much cheaper, easier to deploy and as big a nasty shock for the US would be the sudden appearance of a few mobile Kalibre batteries, with SAMs, on Cuba. Not expensive to do and the Russian military would be fighting to get the 6 months postings there!

Well the Russian version of AEGIS Ashore... with UKSK-M launch tubes able to carry Zircon and Kalibr and of course S-400 and S-500 SAMs... I am sure they will be reassured to know it wont be directed at them... Russia has evidence that Argentina and Chile have ballistic missile programmes and those systems will be placed in Venezuela and Cuba to help them defend themselves... nothing at all to do with the US... so don't complain about it...

The Americans sometimes forget when they boast about their 'carrier off Europe' that is us, that someone else has a potentially very inconvenient carrier off the US coast, Cuba. Facing the very soft underbelly of US defence, the Gulf.

Indeed... Sauce for the Goose is Sauce for the Gander...

The US is blindly arrogant, the Department of Defence having implemented a change in function after WW2 to offence without bothering the change the name. So they have a virtually defenceless homeland against external enemies. After all no-one was ever going to attack them so they didn't need SAMs. Right?

To be fair the political correctness started early.... the Ministry of War and Department of War fairly quickly were renamed Ministry of Defence and Department of Defence... but once a snake always a snake...

Nuclear weapons in Cuba is nearly impossible, why will Cuba want to be a nuclear target?

Cuba is a nuclear target, little they could do to change that except capitulate to the US.

The US has been tearing up agreements... so the agreement about nuclear weapons stationed in Cuba could be the next reaction to Americas tearing up obsolete old agreements.

Space base weapons are not so easy to destroy

Very true, but also not so true... ground based lasers could target satellites in orbit, but most importantly... bombs in space make everyone vulnerable when the US initiates its attack with missiles from space... Russia could push a button and set off EMP bombs as they fly over the US and EU easily enough and then launch a full strike... their S-500s and Nudol and other systems should protect silo and truck mounted weapons so they will be launched, and of course SSBNs and Poseidon and unlimited range cruise missiles can be launched too... what they are creating with such talk is another hair trigger.... just like IRBMs and cruise missiles in Europe meant there would be 2-3 minutes to decide if it was an attack or a mistake... weapons in space create the same hair trigger... and the consequences of getting it wrong will cost far worse than the current pandemic...

They don't need Cuban bases anymore. For intel' it would be nice or to use their ports for their ships but certainly not to deploy nuks.

They don't need them like HATO does not need the Baltic states and Ukraine and Georgia to be members... that does not seem to bother the US though...
