Haven`t played stutter 2 fart of chornobyl yet but holy crap it looks bad. Expect all the usual UE5 traversal stutters, never ever playing on native or without garbage temporal AA, etc etc.

Still going to pirate it of course. Razz

Gonna wait a bit for bug fixes and opti patches.

Also for a mod that allows the NPCs to be aware of your voice chat.

Every Ukrainian speaker must turn to look when I shout  "sdavaysya khohol"  before I can unload or it won't feel complete.

Not gonna pay for a game of devs who mid-development changed course and involved politics into their company and product.

I wouldn't give them any money either, but you can view it from the perspective of the more money they steal the longer they keep fighting, the larger Russia will ultimately become and the more trash gets taken out... of course it is the poor and the vulnerable that get pushed to the front of the queue when it comes to cannon fodder time... but you are going to get a few zealots too.

I dunno if there is anti Russian nonsense in it. So far I played a little bit of it and it is alright. Very poorly optimized, so for a RTX 3080 the game is barely playable. And it also crashes too once in a while.

But so far it is OK. Story is meh and the graphics are Meh. And they throw a bloodsucker at you so damn quickly.

    Also to add:

The whole "We made a game even during a wartime" is nonsense as majority to all the developers have fled to Prague and worked out of Prague.

Sadly its probably never going to be optimized lol. Today's game devs have no clue what's under the hood of the engine they are using. They are glorified asset flippers.

    Ouch

Yeah bud I'm gonna skip this one. I have all the originals and haven't even played them as yet. They've been gathering dust in my Steam library for 10 years.
And with various bugfix and graphical mods they're high-quality games that can still compete with today's offerings by all accounts

And then there's this, which is totally free:

so your steam library still works even though Gabe has sanctioned you guys?

To buy new games, how do you do it?

Also, why buy when you can just download it from gog-games(dot)to?

Steam has been fully functional to date. You can't buy games directly, you have to fill up your wallet with credits; which you can do on various platforms that do it through Kazakhstan-based accounts or whatever. At a markup. So if you pay to put 100 roubles on your account then you end up with 94 roubles, or something.

Mind you not all games are available, some of them are blocked in Russia and I don't think you can be gifted them or whatever either. But let's say 75% of them are available and that's plenty enough for me.

I like buying because I like the idea of having something permanently in my library, that I will automatically get updates for and with achievements and the whole Steam infrastructure in general, or the GOG infrastructure which offers a lot too. I have an app on my phone that I enter every game I own into and can put a marker for whether I want to play it soon, am playing it now, or have completed it. And when I complete a game I download a wallpaper of that game for my desktop and put it into rotation.
I think the developers deserve money too.

And I own enough unplayed games that I very seldom feel any need to pirate anything. Or to buy new games anymore for that matter.

You don`t own the games on your steam library though.

Steam can get the call at any time and they will shut down all access to their servers. Say buh-bye to all those games you bought with your hard earned Rubles!

This is why pirate chads stay winning.

This first person witcher 3 mod is insane.

Imagine if someone were to properly implement a first person viewpoint on the Red Engine (cough cyberpunk), flip all the assets and make a total conversion based on the Stalker IP.

Bet that would make a much better Stalker game than whatever Stalker 2 is.

I do own them, I paid for them and I have them entered in my phone app. What Steam says is irrelevant, I can always pirate my games in the interim if Steam cuts off access to them, and then demand them to restore access.

So if you have GPUs and CPUs operating at 1000 times the flops current high end CPU and GPU get, while getting 1000 Gbps wireless data from game servers hosting multiplayer games. Does that mean as a programmer you can make super large multiplayer map games with a lot more multiplayers involved in those maps? I am trying to visually memorize the Russian gaming industry with photonic computers.

metro exodus enhanced edition looks way better than stutter 2 its not even funny. Stylized is IMO way better than bland photorealism any day. Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 also got this right which is a shame because CDPR is abandoninh the red engine for UE5...

Runs better too. They optimized this game before DLSS was good enough so it has RTGI without upscaling or frame gen. You can mod it to include updated upscalers and frame gen and it will run even better.

    Stalker 2 patch 1.1 is out - a hefty 117Gb lmao.

Between this and Cyberpunk 2077 v2.2 with its retarded 27Gb update of cosmetic bullshit - do people even compress their shit anymore?

Like how do you even get 117Gb without introducing new assets? Did they manually code every fucking NPC yanderedev style?

    DLSS enabler /optiscaler fucks.
Playing Cyberpunk 2077 2.13 I can use FSR 3.1 frame gen, and use the latest FSR 3.1 upscalers w/ optiscaler plus anti-lag 2 on boost mode.
The game not only looks prettier, with twice the fps, but it even has significantly way less input lag to the point that it actually feels like 120 fps.  Razz
Like, no kidding. I actually think I`m going to sell my main rig and just stick with the gaming laptop. Its insane just how much you can achieve with a bunch of mods nowadays. Literally downloading more fps.  Razz

After replaying Mass Effect Andromeda, I can state that it has a glaring and extremely annoying feature. The complete cut-off from access to
levels previously accessed. You can't revisit the original planet where you start, you cannot get back to the Meridian control center, etc. This
is utter BS game design (*). It simply has nothing to do with the story line. Domains do not cease to exist because the story progresses unless
they are destroyed. I found the game playing itself a lot of times. The game developers in my opinion had some sort of malicious intent with
such a design. It is over the top stage managed for a supposedly interactive title.

I watched some re-review videos on YouCrap and for some bizarre reason they do not mention the above. But they whine about side missions
being boring as if they expected whole sub-games for them. Overall Andromeda is not total total trash but a blend. It looks like Mass Effect 5
will be a woke piece of excrement showing once again that the game developers are not honest in their approach and have other agendas.

(*) The claim that there would be nothing to do on these levels is nonsense since there are secrets that can be searched for. With the
existing design you need to do all the exploration while rushing through a plot line such as on Meridian.

The absurd game size is related to anti-piracy measures. Remember the good old days of 0-Day Warez? It is kind of painful to download
100 GBytes even via distributed file sharing as the ftp servers are no longer a thing.

The other element is that over 3 Mbytes/second is the entry level ISP bandwidth these days in the west. So the developers do not care
about compression. You will eat their turds whether you like it or not.

    >1 out of 16 pixels rendered by GPU, rest by AI
    jebus save us.

All our future games are going to run like shit on anything that`s not a $3000 dollar GPU amirite?

This industry's cooked. Stick a fork in it its done.

    >34ms latency looking at a pile of nothing
Tested modded anti-lag 2 (on an RDNA2 laptop) and it manages 18ms with NPCs in a street setting. I get 34ms of latency with the highest wanted level - so a couple of vehicles dropping at most 2 dozen cops and maxtac drops. This is with capped 120fps (including fake frames).

All the extra frames are fluff. Literally smoothing out the visuals with no improvements in input latency. The disconnect between perceived latency and visual smoothness will feel bad.

Also anyone realize how cooked that CP77 still remains the best in class visuals among AAA titles nearly 5 years later? Razz

Gotta love the naming of frame interpolation as "AI". What is called AI is nothing but glorified curve fitting.

The scam must involve a latency hit since you need two real frames to interpolate between them. These f*ckers pretend like they are extrapolating
into the future or something. You are running at a real 25 fps (on the 5070) and see 250 fps on the counter. The latency must be 1/25 s or 40 ms.
