MOSCOW, March 13 - RIA Novosti. Russian skier Yulia Stupak won gold in the 10 km mass start in classic style at the World Cup final in the Engadine, Switzerland.

The Russian woman ran the distance in 25 minutes 13.3 seconds.

The second place was taken by the Norwegian Heidi Veng, the third was Ebba Andersson from Sweden.

Russia crushes Great Britain 7-1 at 2021 Ice Hockey World Championship in Riga

RIGA, May 22. /TASS/. The Russian men’s ice hockey team dominated on Saturday, defeating Team Great Britain 7-1 in the second match of the 2021 IIHF (the International Ice Hockey Federation) World Championship.

Both teams are in Group A. The matches are played without spectators.

Anton Burdasov (6th and 10th minutes), Mikhail Grigorenko (8th minute), Sergey Tolchinsky (11th minute), Pavel Karnaukhov (31th minute), Andrei Kuzmenko (50th minute) and Anton Slepyshev (54th minute) scored for the Russian national team. Liam Kirk (19th minute) scored for Team GB.

The 2021 Ice Hockey Championship is hosted by the Latvian capital of Riga between May 21 and June 6. The championship’s matches are played at two venues in Riga.

The main venue is the Arena Riga and it hosts Group B matches, two quarter-final games, the semi-final round and the medal round. The second venue is the Olympic Sports Centre, which has been converted into a 6,000-capacity ice rink and hosts Group A matches and two quarter-final games. All 16 participating teams are housed in one hotel and the tournament is organized in the so-called bubble mode.

The Russian national team has been placed in Group A alongside the national teams from Sweden, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Slovakia, Denmark, Belarus and Great Britain. Group B lists the teams from Canada, Finland, the United States, Germany, Latvia, Norway, Italy and Kazakhstan.

According to last year’s ruling of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), Russian athletes are prohibited until December 2022 from participating in world championships and Olympic Games under the national flag and to the tune of the national anthem.

Therefore, the Russian national ice hockey team is participating at the 2021 IIHF World Championship in Latvia wearing uniforms with the logo of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), a flame and the Olympic rings.

In mid-April, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) approved the use of First Piano Concerto by Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s musical composition for awarding ceremonies of Russian athletes at the Olympic Games in Japan this summer and the same musical piece is now played after the victories of the Russian ice hockey squad at the championship in Riga.

Swimmers from Russia win Olympic gold, silver in men’s 100m backstroke, 27.07.2021.

This is Russia’s first Olympic gold in swimming since 1996.

TOKYO, July 27. /TASS/. Russian swimmer Evgeny Rylov won the Olympic gold in men’s 100m backstroke event in Tokyo on Tuesday, while another Russian, Kliment Kolesnikov, took the silver.

Rylov set a new European record of 51.98 seconds, while Kolesnikov was only 0.02 seconds behind. Ryan Murphy of the United States was third (+0,21).

This is Russia’s first Olympic gold in swimming since 1996, when Russian athletes won four golden medals: two by Alexander Popov (50m and 100m freestyle) and Denis Pankratov (100m and 200m butterfly).

Rylov is 24 years old. He is a bronze medalist of the 2016 Rio Olympics in 200m backstroke event. Also, the Russian has two world and four European championship titles.

Kolesnikov, 21, holds a world championship silver medal in 4x100 freestyle relay, and two world championship bronze medals: in 50m backstroke and 4x100 mixed relay. He is also a six-time European champion. Kolesnikov also holds the world record in 50m backstroke of 23.80 seconds.

As of today, the Russian national team in Tokyo, where it participates under the name of the Team ROC (the Russian Olympic Committee) due to international sanctions against Russian sports, boasts five gold, six silver and three bronze medals. The list of the 2020 Summer Olympic medalists is currently topped by hosts Japan (eight gold, two silver and three bronze medals). It is followed by the national team of the United States (seven gold, three silver and seven bronze medals) and the Chinese team in the third place with six gold, five silver and seven bronze medals.

Russian gymnasts won gold in the team tournament at the Olympics, 27.07.2021.

The Russian women's national artistic gymnastics team took gold too.

TOKYO, 27 July - RIA Novosti. The Russian women's national artistic gymnastics team won the team competition at the Olympics for the first time in its history.

Lilia Akhaimova , Victoria Listunova , Angelina Melnikova and Vladislav Urazova scored 169.528 points.

American women became silver medalists (166.096 points). The leader of the US national team , four-time Olympic champion Simone Biles, was injured while performing a vault, after which she was transferred to the reserve. Bronze went to gymnasts from Great Britain (164,096).

Previously, Russian gymnasts won gold medals in the team championship as part of the United Team at the 1992 Games.
At the current Olympics, this is the sixth Russian gold and the second in artistic gymnastics. On the eve of victory, the men's team won.

A little later, the Russian taekwondo player Vladislav Larin became the Olympic champion . Thus, the Russians now have 18 medals: seven gold, seven silver and four bronze.

Once someone commented to me , that Putin's Russian outdated culture ends on its borders , and the western modern ones cover the entire world.

So why russians likes so much the western culture ? and move to the west so much , it is because the russian culture and business there is nothing there that could truly capture their interest?  


This is why is soooooo easy for the anglo west ,that controls europe and asian most developed economies , is soo easy to create civil unrest in Russia and create 5th column protesters , because
putin's soviet era promoted culture ,and its gas stations economy , have zero influence over their own young people generations , and people will do anything for any western gift from their modern business economy.


This is a major problem Russia will always have ,it have a major problem of influence of its culture ,
and influence of their business over their own population. there is nothing to brag about , about gas discounts , or records in farming food.   when adversary unfriendly countries of Russia , their western  business have more influence over Russian citizens ,their tech and entertainment ,This can be used by Russian adversaries as a powerful tool , for destabilization and recruiting of 5th column , specially when a nation is blocked under sanctions from those things..

wondering if Russia being disconnected by the west , from the internet ,if will not trigger a major civil unrest in russia, or a major exodus of people , after many months or a year without it.

The olympics as fun they can be to watch at times , is only a temporary distraction that will not last more , that the 2 weeks the event will last.. after that people will go back to their daily lives and forget who won what medal. Moral of the story is. Russia is an outdated culture nation ,and this is directly consequence of their own government outdated economy and culture. in case you don't know ,the government of Poland a NATO country , directly finance from public funds , their own very influential entertainment industry. That many Russians enjoys , and so this is why so many russians wear tshirts , or jewelry or fashion from the entertainment industry of the west.

Soft power do matter , is true influence ,and Russia have next to none in comparison with the west, softpower is the true power , when people follows your business , you create a Fan , because they like it and not because they were paid or given a gas discount for it.

I watched a lot of American and Japanese Tv shows/ movies since childhood, but I still side with Russia in world politics

not everyone , but those that are bigger fans can be influenced away from their patriotism to their country.


If tommorrow Russians are cut from the internet and all those millions of fans ,that exist in russia
blocked for the things they like more ,that they are fans of ,then they will become easy target to influence to become a 5th column in the country and protest their outdated and totalitarian president.

i have witness Russian girls volunteers picked from public , to undress in public and dance totally naked for them ,just for a stupid iphone. a video that i posted long time ago.. this is western business power in action.. how the western culture and business can be used as a carrot , to a horse , to drive away Russians from their country , for gift that comes from the western more advanced and superior culture. so if normal womens can get naked for an iphone, imagine how much more easy will be to participate in an antigovernment protest.

thing. is entertainment , but unfortunately is a passive and meaningless entertainment of who wins a race or eat more hot dogs contest. it will not help in any way a nation , like Russia ,facing war , to influence either nations towards russian orbit and even less influence their enemies to stop its hostilities against russia. is the other way , russia is humiliated even in sports.. as the west have done , forcing russia to not use their flag for made up , accusations of cheating. olympics is a major luxury , in money waste for so little in return , perhaps promotion of tourism? is the only benefit russia could get from it .. but good luck with tourism in pandemic times.

The best money investment happens ,when is to create a modern economy ,that can influence the entire world towards your orbit , to follow you , and or do things that move the entire nation industry towards the future, as it is space .
other areas like military and police are necessary for obvious security , but they directly don't make a nation more influential unless it is a third world nation facing a war .

The other bad thing of promoting "healthy sports" as putin call it , is that encourage russian citizens ,to not take seriously school and focus in easy shortcuts for money. and this is not mentioning of the major injuries they will get for a medal . is not sports ,and gold medals , or ultimate fighting combat what putin needs to promote , instead education revolution and that people get college degrees at university , in science and technology , in arts or even music , things that have the potential to not only can inspire their own people , but also the entire world towards a better future.


According to own russian government admission ,Russia is facing a major problems , for example in mass producing enough sputnik vaccines for the demand, because they don't have as many professionals qualified to take those jobs in their very small pharma industry.

and why will that be ? perhaps because the putin's government have been encouraging lazy gas stations business economic model , and drags away a lot of their best talent ,in mundane things like a pipeline and a gas station factory. just some time ago ,read , that one of Russia legendary cosmonaut ,with major world records in space , decided to quit his job as russia space center , for a position with much higher salary ,at GAZPROM.
