I am a bit confused about the current serial production:

    - 0109 is the one handed to the VKS on 2.4.2019
    - 0110 is currently undergoing flight testing and will be handed over soon
    - 0202 should be the third unit, which was transferred to painting yesterday

    Is that correct?

Comment bmpd. Thus, we are talking about the transfer of the Il-76MD-90A military transport aircraft with the serial number 0110 (registration number RF-78656) to the Ministry of Defense of Russia. This is the third aircraft built by Aviastar-SP in Ulyanovsk under a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense in October 2012 for the production of 39 Il-76MD-90A units worth 139.42 billion rubles. Flight tests of this aircraft were launched in Ulyanovsk on December 22 2018 year. Now the aircraft was transferred to the 235th Military Transport Aviation Regiment of the 18th Military Transport Aviation Division of the Military Transport Aviation of the Aviation Structure of the Russian Air Force, formed at the Aviastar-SP airfield of Ulyanovsk-Vostochny, formed at the end of 2017. Thus, this aircraft became the second Il-76MD-90A, received in the linear part of the VKS.

Earlier, on April 2, 2019, the first in 2019 and the second military transport aircraft Il-76MD-90A with serial number 0109 built by Aviastar-SP JSC under the contract of 2012 was transferred to the same 235th military transport aviation regiment (registration number RF-78655), made the first flight on November 7, 2018. . He was declared the first serial Il-76MD-90A as the “first aircraft built in accordance with the list of tasks of the Ministry of Defense of Russia”.

The first IL-76MD-90A aircraft, for the Ministry of Defense of Russia, under the contract of 2012 with serial number 0108 (registration number RF-78654) was built on Aviastar-SP more than three years ago and for the first time raised there on December 15, 2015 and On January 17, 2016, entered the 610th Center for Combat Use and Retraining of Flight Personnel of Military Transport Aviation named after Marshal of Aviation N.Skripko in Ivanovo.

Previously Aviastar-SP, under a contract dated November 2011, JSC UAC - Transport Planes built in 2014-2015 three Il-76MD-90A planes of the installation batch with serial numbers 0103, 0104, 0105. The first two of them were transferred to PJSC The Taganrog Aviation Scientific-Technical Complex named after GM Beriev (TANTK) for creating special-purpose machines on their base, and the aircraft with the serial number 0105 on December 3, 2015 was also transferred to the 610th TSBPPLS VTA in Ivanovo.

Il-76/476 Transports - Page 8 Empty build schedule

Post  Gazputin on Sun May 19, 2019 9:30 am

according to the build schedule I have it was meant to be finished 2nd 1/2 2018
but if they were installing robotic lines in the factory this year ….

not great was meant to be built by July 2018

next one 0202 …. meant to be 4 months later …
    0203 4 months after that ….
    0204 2 months later
    0205 2 months later …. etc

pretty obvious they can't build faster than 4 months without robotic base airframe construction ….
could you imagine the size of the wiring loom alone ? and the weight of it ...

they've done a good job really ….. when you think it was all over in Uzbekistan …. these are huge planes
wonder how many Uzbeks emigrated ? quite a few you would think ….

good news is …. everything learnt will speed up il-276 later

its all like rolling a snow ball down a hill ….. you learn exponentially from this stuff

Some interesting data from bmpd article

The Ulyanovsk aircraft-building enterprise of Aviastar-SP, JSC (part of the Transport Aviation Division of United Aircraft Building Corporation, JSC) reported that on June 13, 2019, at the factory airfield complex Ulyanovsk-Vostochny, the Il-76MD-90A military transport aircraft made a first flight number 0202 (registration number RF-78657). This is the first IL-76MD-90A, lifted into the air in 2019.

In a press release, JSC Aviastar-SP states that “after the flight test phase, the transport will be handed over to the customer. This year it will be the third aircraft built at the plant under a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense. In total, according to the production program of 2019, it is planned to commission five aircraft of this modification. ”

From the side of bmpd, we point out that in fact this Il-76MD-90A is the first built on the Aviastar-SP in 2019. Earlier, in 2019, the company transferred to the Ministry of Defense of Russia two Il-76MD-90A aircraft actually built in 2018 - aircraft with serial numbers 0109 (registration number RF-78655, made its first flight in Ulyanovsk on November 7, 2018, was transferred on April 2, 2019 year) and 0110 (registration number RF-78656, made the first flight on December 22, 2018, transferred on May 16, 2019). Both of these aircraft became part of the 235th Military Transport Aviation Regiment of the 18th Military Transport Aviation Division of the Military Transport Aviation of the Aviation Structure of the Russian Air Force, formed at the Aviastar-SP airfield of Ulyanovsk-Vostochny, which became the first two serial Il-76MD-90A, received in VKS of Russia.

The Il-76MD-90A aircraft with serial number 0202, which made the first flight on June 13, 2019, became the fourth aircraft built by Aviastar-SP in Ulyanovsk under a contract with the Russian Defense Ministry from October 2012 to manufacture 39 Il-76MD-90A units the amount of 139.42 billion rubles.

The first IL-76MD-90A aircraft, for the Ministry of Defense of Russia, under the contract of 2012 with serial number 0108 (registration number RF-78654) was built on Aviastar-SP more than three years ago and for the first time raised there on December 15, 2015 and On January 17, 2016, he entered the 610th Center for Combat Use and Retraining of Flight Personnel of Military Transport Aviation named after Marshal of Aviation N.Skripko in Ivanovo.

In addition, the first prototype of the Il-78M-90A tanker aircraft (serial number 0201, registration number RF-78741) developed by Il-76MD-90A military aircraft was also built at Aviastar-SP. and made the first flight in Ulyanovsk on January 19, 2018. However, after 11 months of refinement, it was only on December 27, 2018 that the first prototype of the IL-78M-90A made the fourth test flight, which was officially credited as the first under the factory flight testing program.

Thus, to date, the Aviastar-SP plant has built a total of eight copies (including the prototype) of the Il-76MD-90A military transport aircraft and one prototype of the Il-78M-90A tanker aircraft.

    https://bmpd.livejournal.com/3677046.html

    So we have:

2x Il-76MD-90A (one prototype) transport aircrafts, at the 610th Center for Combat Use and Retraining of Flight Personnel of Military Transport Aviation named after Marshal of Aviation N.Skripko in Ivanovo.

2x Il-76MD-90A planes, at Taganrog Aviation Scientific-Technical Complex named after GM Beriev (TANTK) for creating special-purpose machines (AWACS)

1x prototype of the Il-78M-90A tanker aircraft

2x Il-76MD-90A serial transport aircrafts, at the 235th Military Transport Aviation Regiment of the 18th Military Transport Aviation Division of the Russian Air Force, formed at the Aviastar-SP airfield of Ulyanovsk-Vostochny. And the third in flight tests above

    One question for the forum.

In a couple of articles about the chinese  Y-20 it was mentioned that it has better aerodynamic performance than the il-76 because it has supercritical wings (that in large transport aircrafts were previously only seen in the american C-17).

Edit: soviet union used supercritical wings on the An-124 (and they were maybe used in the Russian/Ukrainian An-70?)

Is that true? Is Russia planning a further modified Il-476 with supercritical wings?

(Or maybe they will wait until they can do a new version with modified wings and 2 engines instead of 4 using 2 PD-28 engines?)

I would suggest good engines are more important that super critical wing design.

Have no idea whether the Il-476 has a supercritical wing design... I don't know what a supercritical wing design is and what benefits it creates and what limitations it imposes on the design... the Il-476 is also not stealthy but that really doesn't matter either.
