    - The production of light multi-purpose aircraft Diamond 42 will be set up at the Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA), VCS will receive them for initial flight training.
    - SR-10 production of this aircraft in Smolensk, in 2018 should go into the series.
    - The flight training system will be structured as follows: Diamond is the initial flight training, SR-10 is the average flight training in the second to fourth year, and the third stage is the Yak-130 on the graduate course. Maybe MiG-29 and MiG-35, depending on how the combat units and schools will be equipped.
    - Artificial intelligence to replace pilot in aircraft cockpit in 6th gen aircrafts
    - Su-57 production. In the first year, the VCS will not receive 20 or 15 aircraft, only two or three, and so on.
    - MiG-35 fighter purchases are included in the new state arms program. Until 2020, it seems, there are 24 planes. It is approximately two times cheaper than the Su-30 or Su-35.
    - The Su-25 was modernized to the SM3 version will fly 10-15 more years. Naturally, eventually it will have to be changed. Different options are being considered today.
    - Single seat version of Su-34 is considered as an option of an attack aircraft.

I thought the initial training aircraft would be the Yak-152.

It's a foreign aircraft so don't see that. Suspect they are calling the Yak-152 a Diamond.

English Wiki says two for FSB a few years back, but RU Wiki has nothing other than saying some parts manufactured in Russia for it.

Looks versatile though, plus twin engine reliability... still hope they're going with Yak-152.

EDIT: Also, about that 2500 man VDV exercise mentioned earlier

Warning, highly pornographic, avert eyes of young impressionable minds:

Yak 152 looks more like a fighter than this diamond plane. They will probably use this one to train their bomber pilots and pilots for big planes like il76 or something like that.

it will be used for training of logistics flights by sounds of it. These type of planes cannot maneuver like Yak-152 can which will be first for training fighters.

New wings of the Russian Air Force , What will the Russian front aviation fly in 10 years

    Ilya Kramnik

    https://iz.ru/679043/ilia-kramnik/novye-krylia-vvs-rossii

In Russia, the process of coordinating the state arms program (SPP) for 2018-2027 is coming to an end. The exact figures of the state defense order are closed and, most likely, they will remain so, however, some assumptions about the parameters of the future program can be made. iz.ru understood the expected orders for the Russian Air Force.

    New "Dryers"

The air force, organizationally part of the Air and Space Forces of the Russian Federation, remains their largest element. According to the total number of aircraft and helicopters of all types, the Russian Air Force shares the second place in the world with the air force of the People's Liberation Army of China (PLA), second only to the US Air Force. A significant part of the aviation fleet has already been updated within the framework of the completed armaments state program 2006-2015 and the current GPV (2011-2020). Especially it concerns helicopters.

Nevertheless, in the Air Force units there are still a lot of Soviet-built aircraft equipment. In military transport, long-range and special aviation, heavy aircraft with a large resource can fly for several decades, but front-line fighter planes, bombers and other Soviet-built tactical aircraft will obviously be completely replaced in the next decade,

The basis of the procurement program for front-line aviation will still be the Su aircraft. In total, according to available information, as part of the airborne regiments of the Air Force it is intended to have at least 700 fighters (excluding machines stored). About 450 of them are fighters of the Sukhoi Design Bureau, in the overwhelming majority of the new construction, with the exception of a few dozen Su-27 fighters that have undergone modernization into the Su-27SM variant.

First of all it is worth mentioning the Irkutsk Su-30SM, which is also supplied for naval aviation of the Russian Navy. In total, for the Ministry of Defense of Russia, starting in 2012, 116 Su-30SM aircraft were contracted, of which 88 are intended for the Air Force, and 28 for the fleet aviation. Currently, under the signed agreements, about 100 aircraft have been delivered, and according to available information, a new contract for the delivery of another 50 planes for the Defense Ministry should be signed in the near future. This contract should be implemented by 2022, after which the Irkutsk Aircraft Plant will focus on the production of the MS-21 liner currently undergoing testing.

Procurement of the more advanced version of the T-10 platform, the Su-35S fighter, will be continued. It is assumed that in addition to 98 fighters of this type, contracted under the two agreements of 2009 and 2015, no less number of cars of this type will be purchased.

MiG-35 will hang in the air

Aerospace forces order super-maneuverable fighter with the latest on-board equipment In addition, in Komsomolsk, a fifth-generation fighter, the Su-57, is being manufactured. The information on the possible volume of the proposed purchases of this machine varies, but it is most likely that by the end of the new LG, the Air Force will have about 60 vehicles of this type, the first 12 of which will be delivered before the end of 2021 and be tested before the start of the series purchases. It is possible that the lack of fifth-generation machines will be replenished by increasing purchases of Su-30 and Su-35 fighters.

    Upgraded "MiGs"

The most numerous representative of the "MiG" brand in the troops in the next decade will still be the Soviet machine - the upgraded MiG-31 interceptor fighter. Capital repair and modernization of these machines are now put on stream, and taking into account the need to cover large areas in the north and the Far East, the total number of repaired interceptors in the Air Force may in the next decade be about 150 aircraft. Also remain in the ranks received in the second half of the zero and in 2010, several dozen fighters MiG-29SMT / UBT. A newer version of "product 9", the MiG-35, is unlikely to be purchased in quantities comparable to Sukhoi, but after mastering a new radar for this fighter, it is possible that new contracts are signed. According to expert estimates,

The shock units of frontline aviation will be equipped exclusively with Sukhoi vehicles. The only representative of the Soviet aircraft industry will be the Su-25 attack aircraft. Most likely, assault aviation regiments will have at least 120-140 modernized aircraft of this type equipped with new guided air munitions.

Another veteran of the USSR Air Force, the Su-24M bomber, who worked brilliantly in the Syrian campaign under the curtain of the career, will still go "on the way out," but only because, unlike the Su-25, he has something to replace: the Su-34 bomber also perfectly showed yourself in Syria. Under the current contracts, the Russian Air Force has already received about 110 vehicles of this type, and the total demand for the Su-34 is close to 200 units. It is not excluded that a new contract for the supply of these bombers will be concluded in 2018-2019, in addition, purchases of Su-34 for naval aviation of the Russian Navy are possible.

The foregoing means that there are about 1,000 vehicles in the air force of the Russian Air Force. On the one hand, this is much less than the Soviet Air Force once had, as well as the fewer planes that the tactical air wings of the Air Force and the US Navy deck aviation, along with the aviation of the Marine Corps, will have. But on the other hand, given the existing tasks, this number is estimated as sufficient.

In the final analysis, it is meaningless to compare the size of the Russian Air Force and potential adversaries. The outcome of the war, in which this correlation of forces really will make sense, is decided not by front-line aviation. In the same conflicts that Russia is likely to face in the next 10 years, no less burden will fall on other components of the Air Force. We will talk about the prospects for their renewal later.

Russian bombers to be armed with new Kh-50 theatre-level cruise missile
Piotr Butowski - IHS Jane's Missiles & Rockets

    http://www.janes.com/article/76602/russian-bombers-to-be-armed-with-new-kh-50-theatre-level-cruise-missile

Russian sources in early December disclosed the designation ‘Kh-50’ for new Russian airborne theatre-level (substrategic) cruise missile. Purchases of production Kh-50 missiles are planned under Russia’s State Armament Programme for 2018–27 (GPV-2027), the sources added.

Developed by Raduga Design Bureau of Dubna within the Kh-SD (Sredney Dalnosti, medium-range) programme, the Kh-50 is expected to be a subsonic cruise missile utilising the guidance system of the strategic Kh-101 missile but with a smaller, low-observable airframe, similar to the US AGM-158 Joint Air-to-Surface Stand-off Missile (JASSM). Research and development work on the Kh-SD began in early 1990s, but was subsequently suspended for a number of years.

Designed to fit in the weapon bays of the Tupolev Tu-22M3 theatre and Tu-95MS and Tu-160 strategic bombers, the Kh-50 missile is about 6m (19.7 ft) in length – about 1.5 m (4.9 ft) less than the Kh-101 – and weighs around 1,600 kg (3,527 lb). Powered by an OMKB izdeliye 37-04 (or TRDD-50B) turbofan engine, the missile is expected to achieve a range of over 1,500 km (810 n miles), a cruise speed of 700 km/h (378 kt), and a maximum speed of 950 km/h (513 kt).

The missile’s body has a flattened cross-section and faceted sides; this shape combines the requirements of radar cross-section reduction and the most efficient use of the heavy bomber’s weapon bay capacity when loaded on six-round rotating launcher. The guidance system includes strap-down inertial navigation corrected by GPS/GLONASS for the cruise phase, and an Otblesk electro-optical digital scene-matching area correlation (DSMAC) system for use close to the target. Apart from the low-observable airframe, to penetrate the enemy air defence the Kh-50 missile uses low-altitude flight profile and is equipped with self-protection devices, including a small active electronic jammer and towed decoys.

The Ministry of Defense of Russia has received ten new helicopters "Ansat-U"
    entry is in top1000 rating

    December 21st, 1:32 am

As reported on December 20, 2017 by the Department of Information and Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the final batch of new training helicopters Ansat-U entered the training aviation base of the Air Force Academy named after NE Zhukovsky and Yuri Gagarin, in the Saratov region. Crews Syzran branch of the Academy have completed the relocation of five helicopters from the manufacturer to the airport dislocation.

The State Defense Order-2017 for the supply of 10 helicopters of this type is completely completed. In November, five Ansat-U helicopters were also delivered to the Air Force Academy. Civilians from the HMSU. On the bmpd side, we recall that on June 5, 2017, the Russian Defense Ministry concluded another contract with PJSC Kazan Helicopter Plant (KHZ, part of the Russian Helicopters JSC) for the supply of ten Ansat-U training helicopters at a total cost of 2,075,438 billion rubles. The delivery was to be made by December 31, 2017, and was implemented on time.

The first five Ansat-U helicopters arrived in the training aviation group at the Sokol aerodrome (Saratov region) of the Syzran branch of the Military Educational and Scientific Center of the Military Space Station "The Air Force Academy named after Professor NE Kuznetsov. Zhukovsky and Yu.A. Gagarin "on November 19, 2017. Now the remaining five helicopters are delivered. The prospective serial numbers of the helicopters delivered in 2017 from 33078 to 33087 are not yet known.

Thus, by the present time, the Russian Ministry of Defense has received 50 Ansat-U helicopters under three contracts. Under the first contract, the KVZ supplied the Russian Air Force with eight Ansat-U helicopters (serial numbers from 33028 to 33035), including six in 2009 and two in 2010. Then the Ministry of Defense on March 1, 2011 signed a contract with KVZ to supply 32 Ansat-U vehicles. The contract cost of one Ansat-U helicopter under this contract was 127.72246 million rubles without VAT. Under this contract, five Ansat-U helicopters were delivered by the Russian Air Force in 2011, six in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015, and three in 2016 (serial numbers from 33036 to 33067).

Of the delivered Ansat-U helicopters, the first three helicopters (28, 29 and 30 onboard numbers, coinciding with the latest figures of seriynyh numbers) were built in 2009 in the training center of army aviation in Torzhok, and the remaining 47 vehicles from 2010 the Air Force Academy named after Professor NE Zhukovsky and YA Gagarin (the side numbers of the first 37 helicopters from the " 31 "to" 67. ") In 2015, two Ansat-U helicopters were were transferred from Syzran to the 800th Special Purpose Aviation Base (now the 8th Special Aviation Division) at the Chkalovsky airfield outside Moscow, then changing the airborne numbers from "59" and "60" to "259" and "260" respectively, .

According to the known data, as a result of the implementation of the 2017 contract for the supply of ten Ansat-U helicopters to the Ministry of Defense, and the continuing supply of Ansat helicopters with a hydromechanical control system (HMSS) in medical performance for State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK) , the total number of the Ansat helicopters built by the helicopter of all modifications has now reached 80 units - seven prototypes (five with EDSU and two with HMSU), 50 Ansat-U military vehicles with EDSU, 12 civilian with EMF, 11 civilian with HMSU .
