Those are 13th Hawk Battery Command in Kilis, not Darat Izza.

Time for yet another Peto map Very Happy SAA making daily progress its its drive through Idlib... cheers

#SAA forces in S- #Idlib secured several more villages today. Even after the arrival of reinforcements, insurgents / #HTS seem still unable to halt the Government forces' advance.

Two Su-35 destroyed? looks like  Kommersant revealed its V column face  ... no sat pics notin on CNN fake news? no youtube vids from goat fuckers? 3days?

And the best "anonymous military diplomatic sources"  - us embassy but who was military in the embassy?

In Syria, destroyed seven Russian aircraft

    https://www.kommersant.ru/doc/3514249

As it became known to Kommersant, December 31 at the air base Khmeimim (Syrian province of Latakia), one of the most serious incidents took place in all two years of conducting Russian air operations in Syria. According to Kommersant's information, on that day the air base was subjected to mortar shelling by radical Islamists, which resulted in the destruction of at least four front-line Su-24 bombers, two Su-35S multipurpose fighter aircraft and one An-72 military transport aircraft. More than ten servicemen could get injuries.

The emergency incident at the Syrian airbase Khmeimim "Kommersant" became known from two military-diplomatic sources. Without going into details, they reported that the militants of one of the terrorist groups fired at a Russian military facility in Syria, which resulted in the actual destruction of four Su-24 bombers, two Su-35S fighters, one An-72 transport vehicle, and an ammunition depot detonated after hitting a mortar shell. In total, according to unofficial data, more than ten servicemen could suffer. The incident was not commented at the Russian Defense Ministry: the military only officially confirmed the death of two pilots who piloted the Russian Mi-24 helicopter that day. According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, there was no fire impact on the helicopter - the equipment itself failed.

I am not saying it's impossible but I have simple rule: Smoke = Fire

Nobody documented any smoke coming from the base

    Very difficult to say.

    Maybe propaganda.

In the other side, the mortar firing combined with advanced target location methods has been used to kill many Syrian and Russian generals. It is a procedure that is being used by paramilitary cells/groups very likely under direct orders of the countries that are fighting against Syria and have available the advanced target location methods.

If this is a true attack, the aircraft destroyed will be known, and clearly it will be serious retaliation in interests of the advanced countries organizing them.

You mean Russia is gonna retaliate? Lol they didn't with the general, they will not do so with the planes IF this took place....which looks to me like fake news.

One of those many bombs we have seen dropped over the past few days was obviously spot on. As the area shrinks we will hopefully get more of this good news. But the death toll on the SAA side looks pretty heavy as well.

Okay so the Airbase was hit however only a couple of aircraft got damaged, it was mostly long-range indirect fire from portable mortars.

The reason there was no "smoke" was that there were no explosions the aircraft that was hit wasn't destroyed by any major amount there are holes in them yes but nothing big enough to cause large explosions that would be noticed by people outside of the base.

    That is the situation there.

Russians believed themselves out of range and thus got caught with their pants down.

I for one look forward to seeing what the Russians will do now that their main airbase is vulnerable to attack.

Retaliation is not always inmediate. And is not always explicit.

Bashar al-Assad put an end to the authority of the head of the security and military committee and the head of the military security branch in Hasaka province, Brigadier General Ali Thiab.

Al-Assad announced that Thiab’s duties were over in the province considered one of the most complex in Syria due to its ethnic and religious diversity.

Thiab was not only the regime’s first man in Hasaka but the godfather of most of al-Assad’s agreements and understandings with the Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) and the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG). He was also involved in arming these militias and supplying them with tons of ammunition and equipment to ensure their expansion along the Turkish-Syrian border as a hit against Ankara.

Thiab repeatedly coordinated meetings among the regime and the PKK and YPG indicating he was authorized by al-Assad to organize the regime’s relationship with the Kurdish factions.

Those unfamiliar with Thiab's past may ask why the regime chose him from among all the intelligence officers available for this complicated task. Reviewing Thiab’s history shows that al-Assad selected the right man for the job. Thiab was an intelligence officer responsible for a part of the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon during the period of Syrian mandate over Lebanon. The Valley was used by the PKK fighters and Abdullah Ocalan to receive intensive training on guerrilla warfare and how to carry out terrorist acts.

Like the September 2016 air raid where A-10's killed around 100 and wounded another 100 or so SAA members.

Assad better hope then Russia actually defends them this time if we do decide to bomb them again.

or help reequip SAA air defenses so SAA can shoot down by itself. The problem now is not SAA but Iran. US/Israele regimes try hard to kick Iran on all fronts.

Given the Russian comments about how deeply into the SAA their advice and guidance operators now are such an aggressive move by the Coalition now is probably unlikely other than in response to an SAA move.

Two potentially interesting situations are sitting there now, the tactically unnecessary US area at al-Tanf and the SDF bulge west over the Euphrates at Tabqa.
