If true we may see more Syrian/Iraqi joint operations.

No its all over the place. This is something the US can do and get good PR from. They no longer need their 'siege' guns and it will please the Turks,

This war seems far of the end still, despite the fall of the ISIS.

In overall terms is logical to see Syria keeping safer its most capable and most modern (as military concept) armament. Taking into account the reports it would be:

    SA-22
    SS-C-5
    SS-26
    T-90
    TOS-1
    BM-30
    SA-19
    SA-11/17
    SA-10/12/20/23
    Project 1265
    Su-24
    2S1
    SA-8
    Project 1258
    SA-6
    MiG-29/35
    BM-27
    Project 266
    Su-17/20/22
    2S3
    T-72
    SS-C-1
    SS-21
    SS-C-3
    2S4
    MiG-23
    SS-1 Scud
    ZSU-23-4

This the armament that is most difficult to be restored by Russia.

But also, (like in the case of the generals with bounties), would be the armament which destruction is most interesting for the US and Israel. Looking at the events in the battlefields, it seems that there are paramilitary groups in Syria with more advanced armament which fight is limited to hunt high rank officials and also this armament in order to weaken the Syrian Armed Forces and also the Syrian arsenals. Their fight would include also some armament of Iranian origin that is less known for me.

So it looks like the Syrian AA gunners are starting to show their teeth finaly....I'm guessing Pantsirs have been used to down the  missiles:?: ...although some are suggesting it was BUK-M2

I don't think we have ever seen a more intense missile battle between Israel and Syria in the last ten years.

What's interesting is that some twitter reports claiming a succesful destruction of a base have been deleted. I'm also reading that apparently, the Jerusalem Post reported that an Iranian base near the Lebanese border has been destroyed and then deleted the report shortly afterwards

Seems to have been either Pantsir-S1 or BUK-M2.....or both  Smile

Report: Israel used Jericho I (surface-surface) missiles in Iranian base strike

Russian officials tell Lebanese TV channel Al Mayadeen, which is affiliated with Hezbollah, that the IDF fired Jericho I surface-to-surface missiles for the first time, with one being intercepted by Russian aerial defense system.

Israel reportedly launched Jericho I surface-to-surface missiles for the first time in its alleged attack on an Iranian base in Syria, Russian officials told Lebanese TV channel Al Mayadeen, which is affiliated with Hezbollah.

Al Mayadeen reported that two Jericho I missiles were launched, with one of them intercepted by the Russian aerial defense system Pantsir-S1, which was deployed to Syria to protect Russian military personnel in the war-torn country.

According to foreign sources, the missile has been in Israel's arsenal for decades, since the 1960s, but there have so far been no reports of such a missile being used in operational settings.

Arab media outlets reported Saturday that Israel attacked an Iranian base near the town of al-Kiswah, 15 kilometers southwest of Syrian capital Damascus.

Syrian state television corroborated the report, saying Israeli missiles struck a military position near Damascus overnight and Syria's air defense system thwarted them.

"The Israeli enemy launched...several surface-to-surface missiles towards a military position," state television said, adding there had been "material losses" at the site.

Later reports suggest both systems were used....but we'll probably have to wait a bit for more authoritative confirmation

#SyAAD’s Buk-M2 and Pantsir-S1 managed to down 3 missiles and 1 UAV during the #Israeli raids yesterday. 2 missiles managed to break through Casualties: 1 martyr.

Sounds like Syrian crews but I'm betting they have "advisors" with them

Another twitter report saying they used their new stuff...

The missiles that were used by the Israeli Army are likely Predator Hawk guided ground to ground missile, not air launched according to some information I received from witnesses

If indeed pantsir was used this would make it first operational interception of a missile. Pity the other two missiles got through I would have thought that if buk and pantsir was that they would have taken the other two missiles down as going by reports they were old model missiles being fired at target and I know nothing is 100% effective. But as stated will be interesting who operated them. Let's see if Tungkuska will finally get some action.

But as for Israel they are just trying to prolong war in Syria as they see the end is near and also to start a war on Iran and hamas giving usa an excuse to scrap Iran deal and get involved with a war on Iran all because there syrian conquest failed.

What I wish for is houthis to win yemen and for Israel to get what it deserves a severe beating. What ideally needs to happen is severe sanctions on Israel for its atrocities in gaza however it will never happen because of Usa licking the ring of Netanyahu if Usa and Israel won the war in Syria they would have installed one of there offspring in power in Syria. I personally think Usa plan in middle east has failed completely yet they keep going with Iraq and Libya not working as planned. There next move I believe will be an over spill from Afghanistan into central Asian countries this is there plan for sure. With many extremists in Syria coming from these countries as it is it wouldn't be hard and they have borders with 3 hated Usa countries Russia, Iran, China and they have oil and gas. It also creates problems for Russia on four fronts. 1. Central Asia, 2. Ukraine, 3. Increased Internal terrorist attacks on cities.4. Chenaya. Although 3 are existing the CIA will exacerbated these areas increasing the threats and attacks. But out break of terrorism in central Asia will also help derail China silk road belt project. And as for India and Pakistan and other countries the USA may then try to muscle in on arms deals as these countries seek to increase defence spending due to increased security risk although it would be tough to steal sales they would still try. It would also serve to drain spending on economic projects in these countries due money being diverted to defence spending as well as drive away investors. Hence China, India, and Pakistan should have helped out in Syria to kill as many terrorist scum as possible there idleness will come back to bite them when experienced and trained terrorists come back to roost in there countries

In overall terms is logical to see Syria keeping safer its most capable and most modern (as military concept) armament. Taking into account the reports it would be:

    SA-22
    SS-C-5
    SS-26
    T-90
    TOS-1
    BM-30
    SA-19
    SA-11/17
    SA-10/12/20/23
    Project 1265
    Su-24
    2S1
    SA-8
    Project 1258
    SA-6
    MiG-29/35
    BM-27
    Project 266
    Su-17/20/22
    2S3
    T-72
    SS-C-1
    SS-21
    SS-C-3
    2S4
    MiG-23
    SS-1 Scud
    ZSU-23-4

This the armament that is most difficult to be restored by Russia.

But also, (like in the case of the generals with bounties), would be the armament which destruction is most interesting for the US and Israel. Looking at the events in the battlefields, it seems that there are paramilitary groups in Syria with more advanced armament which fight is limited to hunt high rank officials and also this armament in order to weaken the Syrian Armed Forces and also the Syrian arsenals. Their fight would include also some armament of Iranian origin that is less known for me.

I slightly disagree Russia could easily supply
T-72, 2s3, 2s1,  zsu-23-4, sa-8, bm-27, sa-6, and to an extent su-24, with what Russia had in stock these shouldn't be a problem "mig-25/35"? Since when did Syria have mig-35?  Although I am sure your going to tell me I am wrong.

    MiG-29/35, thanks, corrected.

To have units of them stored in the reserve means not to be unnecessary for Russia, for its own defense.
